Why is there no sound from the microphone?

Ensure the 3.5 mm jack is fully inserted into the correct port (usually pink or with a mic icon). Check that the microphone is not muted in your computer's sound settings. Also verify that the recording device is set to Sven MK-200 instead of the built-in microphone.

How can I reduce background noise?

The cardioid polar pattern picks up sound primarily from the front. Keep the microphone close to your mouth (5-10 cm) and reduce ambient noise. Using a noise gate or noise suppression feature in your software can also help.

Can I use this microphone with a smartphone?

Yes, if your smartphone has a 3.5 mm jack and supports external microphones. You may need a TRRS splitter adapter to separate audio in and out. Some modern phones require a USB-C or Lightning adapter.

How do I clean the microphone?

Disconnect the microphone. Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the grille and body. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners. For the grille, you can use a soft brush to remove dust.

Why is the volume too low?

Increase the microphone volume in your operating system's sound settings. Also check that the microphone is properly positioned. If you have a gain control on your audio interface, increase it. Avoid covering the grille with your hand.

No, the Sven MK-200 is a dynamic microphone and does not need phantom power. It works directly when plugged into a compatible 3.5 mm port.

The microphone makes a static noise. What can I do?

Static noise can be caused by poor connections, electromagnetic interference, or faulty cables. Try plugging into a different USB port or audio jack. Keep the microphone away from electronic devices like monitors and routers. If the issue persists, the cable may be damaged.

Can I use this microphone with an XLR input?

How far should I be from the microphone?

PURPOSE

MK-200 microphone is designed for comfortable online communication, recording words and phrases and controlling pronunciation in distance foreign language learning. The model fits equally well for home and office use.

The microphone capsule is installed on a stand with a wide round-shaped base enhancing its stability. The adjustable holder enables to change the tilt of the microphone and locate it at comfortable distance for a user. The device is supplied with an extra fixture component to fix SVEN MK-200 on a monitor.
