How do I connect the M1000-USA to my amplifier?

Use standard speaker cables with banana plugs or bare wire. Connect the positive terminal (red) to the amplifier's positive output and negative (black) to negative. Ensure the amplifier is off during connection.

What amplifier power is recommended?

An amplifier delivering between 50 and 300 watts RMS per channel at 8 ohms is ideal. Avoid underpowered amps that may cause clipping.

Can I clean the speaker grille?

Yes, gently vacuum the grille using a soft brush attachment. For stains, lightly dampen a cloth with mild soap and water, then dry immediately. Do not remove the grille unless necessary.

Where should I place the M1000-USA for best sound?

Position the speakers at least 30 cm from walls. For stereo, form an equilateral triangle with your listening position. Ensure they are on a stable surface or use the provided spikes on carpet.

What is the warranty period?

Atlas Sound provides a 5-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Proof of purchase is required.

No sound from the speaker. What should I check?

First, verify that the amplifier is on and the source is playing. Check all cable connections. Test with a different audio source. If still no sound, inspect the fuse on the speaker; replace if blown (1A 250V).

Is the M1000-USA compatible with 4-ohm amplifiers?

The speaker is rated at 8 ohms nominal. Connecting to a 4-ohm capable amplifier is fine, but the speaker will draw less power. Do not connect two speakers in parallel to a 4-ohm amp without checking total impedance.

What is the maximum SPL of this speaker?

With 200W RMS input at 1m, the maximum SPL is approximately 118 dB (calculated from sensitivity and power).

What is the frequency response?

The M1000-USA has a frequency response of 50 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), ensuring clear lows and detailed highs.

Step 1

Remove the M1000 from the package via hangers provided. Hangers are factory installed to facilitate mounting of the M1000 for upward sound dispersion, Figure 1. This dispersion configuration is the most popular and most effective.

Note: The M1000R-W can only be mounted in the upward firing configuration.

If horizontal (side firing) dispersion is required, the hangers may be relocated as shown in Figure 2.

If down firing dispersion is required, the hangers may be relocated as shown in Figure 3.

Step 2

Install the M1000 per Figure 1, 2 or 3, using hanger wire or MCHAIN72 (not included).

Note: Code requirements in many areas require the use of #12 suspension cable for commercial applications. Check your local codes before installing the M1000.

Step 3

Terminate service loop to the amplifier output line (black is negative, red is positive) - see Figure 4.

Note: Strain relief is not designed to accommodate conduit. Use approved terminations through the knock-outs provided on the M1000 cover plate when conduit is used.

Step 4

Set tap selector switch to desired power setting.
