How do I clean the laser lens?

Use a lens cleaning kit or a microfiber cloth lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Gently wipe the lens in a circular motion. Avoid touching the lens with bare fingers.

Can I use this laser machine outdoors?

Yes, but avoid exposure to rain or moisture. The device is not weatherproof. Use a weatherproof cover if necessary and never operate in high humidity.

How to reset the laser to factory settings?

Press and hold the Menu button for 5 seconds, then select 'Factory Reset' using the arrow keys. Confirm by pressing Enter.

Is the LASER 80 safe for eye exposure?

This device emits a Class 3R laser. Avoid direct eye exposure. Always put the laser on standby when not in use and never point at people or animals.

What is the maximum DMX cable length?

The maximum recommended length is 300 meters (about 1000 feet) for reliable signal transmission. Use a terminator at the end of the chain.

How to replace the laser diode?

Replacement of the laser diode should be done by a qualified technician. The diode is mounted on a heatsink and requires professional tools. Contact Karma support.

What type of power cord does it use?

It uses a standard IEC C7 (figure-8) power cable. The device accepts input voltage from 100-240V AC.

Can I connect multiple units together?

Yes, you can daisy-chain up to 32 units via DMX. Use DMX cables with 3-pin XLR connectors. Set unique DMX addresses for each unit.

Why is the laser not turning on?

Check that the power cord is plugged in securely, the laser key is turned to the ON position, and the interlock loop is closed. Also verify the power outlet is working.

How do I update the firmware?

Firmware updates are done via a USB connection to a computer. Download the latest firmware from Karma's website, then follow the instructions in the update tool.

Once carried out these steps you are ready to use the device. The laser produces several effects that will light up the surrounding space. The laser can work in auto or sound activated mode. By acting on the selector (5) you can choose the desired function. In auto mode, the pictures created by the laser beams will change independently from music. In sound-activated mode, the laser will turn off if noise is absent and will start operating again as soon as sound is recognized by the microphone (6). Use the Mode (5) button to skip from one mode to another or to switch off the fixture. Be careful not to obstruct the cooling fan (3).

The laser rays are emitted from the aperture (2). Be careful to place the device in order to avoid the laser rays to hit directly people's eyes. Make sure that the laser is used by trained and skilled persons.

Thanks to the included infrared remote control, you have the possibility to handle the main functions at a distance. The infrared sensor (1) is on the front part of the laser.
