Frequently Asked Questions - SubSeries 150 PSB

How do I connect the SubSeries 150 to my receiver?

Use an RCA cable to connect the receiver's subwoofer output to the LFE input on the subwoofer. If your receiver lacks a dedicated sub out, use the line level inputs.

What is the recommended crossover setting?

Set the low-pass filter to around 80 Hz for typical home theater setups. Adjust based on your main speakers and room acoustics.

Why does the subwoofer not turn on?

Check that the power cord is securely connected and the rear power switch is on. Ensure the Auto On/Off is enabled and the signal is present. If it still fails, try a different power outlet.

Can I place the subwoofer in a corner?

Yes, corner placement can increase bass output. However, experiment with placement for optimal balance and to avoid boomy sound.

How do I adjust the phase control?

Play a bass-heavy track and toggle the phase switch between 0 and 180. Choose the setting that produces the loudest and most solid bass at your listening position.

What is the power consumption?

The subwoofer consumes up to 300 watts at maximum output. Standby power is less than 0.5 watts.

Does the subwoofer have a limiter?

Yes, the SubSeries 150 includes a built-in limiter to protect the driver from excessive signal and distortion.

Can I use the subwoofer with a stereo system?

Absolutely. Connect the left and right line-level inputs to your stereo preamp outputs or use a Y-splitter from one preamp output.

How to clean the subwoofer cabinet?

Wipe gently with a dry microfiber cloth. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid any abrasive cleaners.

What warranty does the SubSeries 150 have?

With the SubSeries 150, PSB has reimagined the subwoofer. Most subwoofers are large cubic forms that don't often fit very well in your living room. The SubSeries 150 on the other hand, is a compact, slim, rectangular shape, allowing it to slip in easily beside, behind, or underneath living room furniture. This versatile and decor-friendly design with a beautiful curved gloss black cabinet also offers several clever installation options.

When you really want to get down with some bass, get up off the floor! The SubSeries 150 has a very flat profile suitable for mounting discreetly on a wall, which also frees up valuable floor space. We've included a convenient wall mount bracket to allow the SubSeries 150 to be located on almost any wall of your room.

Go ahead, take it lying down!

While the SubSeries 150 can stand up vertically or horizontally for placement behind or beside a sofa or chair, thanks to its innovative bracket, you can also lay it down and slide it out-of-sight under a couch or end table.

The SubSeries 150 may be small and room-friendly, but it is a full-fledged PSB subwoofer carefully engineered to pump out prodigious quantities of well-defined, low distortion bass. With 100W of power from its cool running and highly efficient amplifier, there is plenty of power on tap to add weight to your favourite music and excitement to your movies. The custom designed 6.5" woofer utilizes a polypropylene cone and high temperature voice coil with a vented pole piece.

Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
15) The equipment shall be used at maximum 35 degree C ambient temperature.

16) Do not open the equipment to reduce the risk of electrical shock. For safety reasons it is only allow to the opened by qualified service personnel.

18) The MAINS plug is used as the disconnect device and shall remain readily operable.

What is Covered and What is Not Covered?

Except as specified below, this warranty covers parts and labour to correct all defects in materials and workmanship. The following are not covered by the warranty:

1. Damage, deterioration, malfunction or failure to meet performance specifications resulting from:

a. Accident, acts of nature, misuse, abuse, neglect or unauthorized product modification.
b. Improper installation, removal or maintenance, or failure to follow instructions supplied with the product.
c. Repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by PSB Speakers to repair the product.
d. Any shipment of the product (claims must be presented to the carrier).
e. Any cause other than a product defect.

1. Cleaning, initial set-up, inspections with no defects found, or charges incurred for installation, removal or reinstallations of the product.
2. Any product on which the serial number has been defaced, modified, or removed.
3. Accessories, including but not limited to, cables, adaptors, mounting hardware and brackets, and detachable cords.
4. Any product used in any trade or business, or in an industrial or commercial application.
5. Any product purchased outside the country of service, its possessions, or territories.
6. Any problem other than a product defect.
7. Any product not purchased from an authorized PSB Speakers Dealer.

Who May Enforce the Warranty?

This warranty may be enforced only by the original purchaser.

What We Will Pay For

We will pay for all labour and material expenses for items covered by the warranty. Payment of the shipping charges is discussed in the next section of this warranty.

How You Can Get Service

1. If your unit needs service, please take your unit with the original invoice or bill of sale to your PSB Speakers dealer. If you need assistance locating an authorized PSB dealer, please check our dealer locator at www.psbspeakers.com, or contact PSB Speakers.
2. You must pay any shipping charges if it is necessary to ship the product for service. However, if the necessary repairs are covered by the warranty, we will pay the return shipping charges to any destination within the country of service.
3. Wherever warranty service is required, you must present the original dated sales receipt, invoice, or other proof of purchase.

Limitation of Implied Warranties

All implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the length of this warranty.

Exclusion of Damages

PSB Speakers' liability for any defective product is limited to repair or replacement of the product at PSB's option. PSB shall not be liable for damage to other products caused by any defects in PSB's products, damages based upon inconvenience or loss of use of the product, or any other damages, whether incidental, consequential, or otherwise.

How State (Provincial) Law Relates to the Warranty

Some states (provinces) do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts and/or do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. Therefore, the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary, from state (province) to state (province).

This warranty is enforceable only inside the country of purchase, its possessions or territories.
