How do I turn on the Testo 826-T3 thermometer?

Press the On/Off button located on the front of the device. The LCD will display the current temperature. To turn off, press and hold the same button for 2 seconds.

What is the measurement range of this thermometer?

The Testo 826-T3 can measure from -50 °C to +300 °C (-58 °F to +572 °F). It is suitable for both low-temperature (freezer) and high-temperature (cooking oil) applications.

How accurate is the Testo 826-T3?

The accuracy is ±0.5 °C in the range of -20 °C to +100 °C, and ±1 °C outside that range. For best results, calibrate regularly using an ice bath.

Can I replace the batteries?

Yes. Slide the battery cover on the back to access the 2 x AAA batteries. Replace with new ones when the battery icon blinks or the display dims.

How do I clean the thermometer?

Wipe the probe and housing with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not immerse in water or place in dishwasher. The probe may be disinfected with alcohol.

Why does the device turn off automatically?

The auto-off feature shuts the thermometer after 10 minutes of inactivity to save battery. To disable, press and hold the HOLD button while turning on until 'OFF' appears.

How do I use the HOLD function?

Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. This is useful when the probe is removed from the food. Press again to release.

What is the MIN/MAX function?

Press the MIN/MAX button to cycle through the minimum, maximum, and current temperature readings recorded since power-on. To reset, press and hold for 2 seconds.

Is the thermometer waterproof?

The housing is splash-proof (IP65), but the probe is not waterproof. Do not submerge the device in water. Wipe clean only.

How do I calibrate the Testo 826-T3?

Prepare an ice bath (crushed ice and water). Insert the probe to 2 cm depth, stir gently. After stabilization, press and hold the CAL button (if available) until the display shows 0.0 °C. The device is now calibrated.

27-1000 MHz frequency range. The parameters specified cannot be guaranteed in high frequency ranges.

Refer to reference material for the emissivity of the substance to be measured or determine via comparison measurements.

Comparison measurement: 1. Surface contact measurement at one point: 2. Infrared measurement on the same point. 3. Keep changing until readings 1 and 2 are the same.

The emissivity in testo 826 is set at 0.95 which is ideal for measurements on food or on coloured packaging. Use testo adhesive tape Part no. 0554.0051

( = 0.93) on objects with an emissivity below 0.2, e.g. shiny metallic objects, for non-contact measurement or only measure with the contact side.

Beachten:

- Use the pre-borer supplied when measuring the core temperature in frozen food (testo 826 T3/T4). Then place the measuring tip in the object to be measured (Fig. 2).

- Risk of injury from measuring tip (testo 826 T3/T4)

- Maximum ambient and operating temperature (e.g. protect instrument from sunlight)

- The instrument needs an adaptation time of 15 minutes for infrared measurement if the ambient temperature changes (change of location, e.g. measurement inside/outside).

- Sharp edges - Do not damage cross-band tip (testo 825 T3/T4).

- Dirt on the lense
