Yes, the player supports Dolby Digital and DTS output via coaxial digital audio. Connect to a compatible receiver or soundbar.

What do I do if the player freezes?

Press the power button to turn off, wait 30 seconds, then turn on again. If persistent, unplug the power cord for 1 minute. Avoid using scratched discs.

Normal play/Standby mode switch.

2.0-9 NUMBER BUTTON

Selects numbered items in a menu.

3.10+ BUTTON

In order to select a track 10 or greater, first press 10+, For example; select track 12, first press 10+, and then press number 2 button.

4. SETUP

Press to enter/exit the Setup menu.

5. ENTER

Confirms menu selection.

6. MENU

Return to DVD root menu(DVD).

7.SEARCH

Go to time point, title or chapter you want in DVD Mode.

8. ◀ BUTTON

Press ◀ BUTTON allow skipping back at 5-level speed (X2->X4->X8->X20->PLAY), press PLAY button return to normal playback.

9.STOP

When this button is pressed once, the unit records the stopped point, from where playback will resume if PLAY(▶II) is pressed after wards. But if STOP button is pressd again instead of PLAY(▶II) button, there will be no resume function.

10. ▶ BUTTON

Press ▶▶ BUTTON allow skipping ahead at 5-level speed (X2->X4->X8->X20->PLAY), press PLAY button return to normal playback.

11. TITLE

Return to DVD title menu.

12.RETURN

Return to root menu from normal play, and then return to normal play from root menu.

13.ANGLE

DVD: Press ANGLE will change the view angle, on DVDs that support this feature.

14.ZOOM

DVD/VCD: Use ZOOM to enlarge or shrink the video image.

1. Press ZOOM during playback or still playback to activate the
   Zoom function. The square frame appears briefly in the right bottom of the picture.
2. Each press of the ZOOM button changes the TV screen in the
   following sequence:
   2 x size→3 x size→4 x size→1/2 x size→1/3 x size→1/4 x size→normal size

JPEG: Use ZOOM to enlarge or shrink the picture.

1. Press 'ZOOM'.

2,2 x size→3 x size→4 x size→1/2 x size→1/3 x size→1/4 x size→normal size

Use the ▲▼◀▶ button to move through the zoomed picture.

Press SUBTITLE repeatedly during playback to select different subtitle languages.

DVD/VCD: The program function enables you to store your favourite tracks from the disc. Press PROGRAM button, then PROGRAM MENU will appear on screen. Now you can use the number keys to directly input title, chapter or track numbers and select PLAY option. To resume normal playback, press PROGRAM and select clear program option on the program menu, Press PROGRAM again to exit program menu.

Adjust volume

Press Slow button repeatedly to enter slow playback, and cycle between different speeds. The speeds are 1/2,1/3,1/4,1/5,1/6,1/7, and normal.

29.A-B

Set A-B. During a movie (if available), press to define the start point, press again to define the end point; the selected section will play repeatedly and continuously. Press again to cancel.

30.STEP

Step the motion in DVD mode.

1. AUDIO

DVD:Press AUDIO repeatedly during playback to hear a different audio language or audio track, if available.

CD/VCD:Press AUDIO repeatedly during playback to hear a different audio channel (Left, Right, Mix, Stereo).

Making the connections

Note: Do not connect multiple cables at the same time as this will cause picture quality loss.

HDMI cable connection to the TV

HDMI cable (not supplied)

An HDMI cable connection carries uncompressed high speed video, audio and other digital information in 100% digital form. It enables transmission of crystal-clear digital video, multi-channel surround audio, and advanced control data through a single cable.

Connecting your DVD player to a TV with an HDMI cable:

SCART cable (not supplied)

A scart cable connection will carry both video and audio and will provide you with good picture quality, widescreen switching and stereo audio.

Connecting your DVD player to a TV with a SCART cable:

RCA cable connection to the TV

Using the RCA cable (supplied), the red and white plugs should be connected to the audio left and right channels. The yellow plug should only be connected to the video CVBS socket.

Note: When using this type of RCA plug and socket connection, they are always colour coded e.g. red plug to red socket etc.

Installing the remote batteries

1. Press down the tab on the remote control battery door, in the direction of the arrow, to remove it.
2. Insert the 2 x AAA batteries supplied, taking care to the + and - markings and position the batteries the correct way around.
3. Replace the battery cover, making sure that it 'clicks' shut.

Remote control working range

The remote signal may not be received if there is an obstacle between the remote control and the remote sensor on your DVD Player.

Note: Direct sunlight or other bright light sources shining on the remote sensor may affect the performance of the remote control.

Connecting the mains power

1. Connect the mains power lead into the socket on the back of the DVD Player.
2. Plug the power adapter into the mains power wall socket and switch on.

Note: Do not connect the mains power until ALL other connections have been made.

1. The Red LED on the front right of your DVD Player will turn on and your DVD Player will now be in Standby mode.

Standby mode

Note: This DVD Player has been designed to go to Standby mode automatically after approximately 20 minutes of inactivity. Please press the ⏻ Power button on the product or the ⏻ Power button on the remote control, to turn the DVD Player back on again.

1. Press the ⏻ Power button on the DVD Player or the ⏻ Power button on the remote control to Power on the product. The LED on the front right of your DVD Player will change to green.
2. Press the ⏻ Power button on the DVD Player or the ⏻ Power button on the remote control to go to Standby mode. The LED on the front right of your DVD Player will change to red.

SETUP Menu Setting

Adjusting the system settings

1. Turn the DVD player on by pressing the ⏻ button on either the remote control or DVD player.
2. Switch on your TV/Monitor and check it is set to the correct input source matching the DVD Player connection: HDMI, SCART or RCA phono / CVBS (composite video). When the correct source is selected the home screen will be displayed.
3. Press the SETUP button on the remote control to open the DVD's menu. The menu will now be shown on the TV.

Then use the ▲▼ buttons to select the sub menus you want to change.

Access the sub menu using the ▶ button, then the ▲▼ buttons to select setting you want to change to.

Repeatedly press the ◀ button to go back to through the menus.

Press the SETUP button to close the menus.

Note: Changes made to the DVD setup menu will be saved on switching player to standby and/or switching off.

General

Use this sub-menu to set up the general settings for the DVD player.

Using your DVD PLAYER

Let's get started

TV System: Use this to select the coding used on the DVD you wish to play.

Choose between: NTSC, PAL or AUTO.

Screen Saver: Use this feature to turn the automatic screen saver ON or OFF.

Video Output: The sub-menu options are: OFF, TV-RGB. Select TV-RGB to activate RGB output via SCART, select OFF to switch the RGB output off.

NOTE: The RGB setting will give the best picture quality if your TV is compatible with RGB signals.

Resolution: Use this to select the HDMI signal type the DVD will use.

Choose from the following: 480I/576I / 480P/576P / 720P / 1080I / 1080P.

Important: Check the correct setting against the information supplied with your TV

TV Type: Use this to set the how the DVD will be shown on the TV's screen, choose between:

4:3 PS (pan & scan) & 4:3 LB (letterbox): Watch the movie in full screen but the sides of the image may be cut off.

16:9: This is the standard for most modern DVD movies when shown on a wide screen TV.

Password: Use this to set a new password. The password is used to lock selected features such as the ratings settings.

1. Use the ▼ and ▶ buttons to highlight . ----

2. Enter the preset password 0000 or your existing password using the number keys on the remote control.

3. Use the ▶ button to highlight ---- enter the new password using the number keys. Press the ENTER button to save the new password.

Rating: Follow the steps above and ensure that the PASSWORD screen is displaying the unlock symbol 🔒. If the lock symbol is shown, enter the default password of 0000 or the new password you have set.

1. Scroll down and highlight RATING Use the ▶ Right arrow to move to the Rating options, then use the ▲ Up and ▼ Down buttons to highlight your chosen rating. Press the ENTER button to confirm.

2. Scroll up and highlight PASSWORD and then press ENTER. Enter the default password of 0000 or the new password you have set.

3. The lock symbol will change to be locked ✪ and your viewing rating is now password protected.

Default: Use this to reset the all of the DVD players setting to the factory standard. Use the ▼ button to select Default then the ▶ button to select Restore. Press the ENTER button.

Language

Select the Audio menu using the ◀▶ buttons on the remote control..

OSD Language: Use this to select your preferred language you wish the DVD players menus to be display in.

Audio Lang: Use this to select the preferred language you want to listen to the DVD in. Important: The DVD must support the language selected for this preference to work.

Subtitle Lang: Use this to select the preferred language you want to view the subtitles on the DVD in.

Important: The DVD must support the language selected for this preference to work.

Menu Lang: Use this to select your preferred language you wish the DVDmenus to be display in.

Important: The DVD must support the language selected for this preference to work.

Power Resume: If Power Resume is turned on whilst watching a DVD and you press the

■ button, play will resume at the point you reached when you press the ▶|| button. Select between On or Off.

Auto Standby: Choose from OFF / 3 hours / 4 hours.

Audio

Select the Preference menu using the ◀▶ buttons on the remote control.

Audio out: Use this to select the audio coding used to listen to your DVD on your TV.

SPDIF / OFF: Turns off the SPDIF output.

SPDIF / RAW: If you have connected your DIGITAL AUDIO OUT to a multi-channel decoder/receiver.

SPDIF / PCM: Only if your receiver is not capable of decoding multi-channel audio.

HDMI Audio: Use this to select the HDMI Audio coding used to listen to your DVD on your TV.

Choose between: AUTO or PCM.

Picture

Select the Preference menu using the t ◀▶ buttons on the remote control.

Brightness: Use this to set the brightness of the DVD's image.

Press the ▼ button to select brightness on the sub menu. Use the ▶ button access the slider. To increase the brightness press the ▲ button, or the ▼ button to decrease the brightness.

When you have finished adjusting the setting, press the ◀ button to go back to the sub menu.

Contrast: Use this to set the contrast of the DVD's image.

Press the ▼ button to select contrast on the sub menu. Use the ▶ button access the slider.

To increase the contrast press the ▲ button, or the ▼ button to decrease the contrast.

When you have finished adjusting the setting, press the ◀ button to go back to the sub menu.

Hue: Use this to set the hue of the DVD's image.

Press the ▼ button to select hue on the sub menu. Use the ▶ button access the slider. To increase the hue press the ▲ button, or the ▼ button to decrease the hue

When you have finished adjusting the setting, press the ◀ button to go back to the sub menu.

Saturation: Use this to set the saturation of the DVD's image.

Press the ▼ button to select saturation on the sub menu. Use the ▶ button access the slider. To increase the saturation press the ▲ button, or the ▼ button to decrease the saturation.

When you have finished adjusting the setting press the ◀ button to go back to the sub menu.

Using your DVD PLAYER

Sharpness: Use to set the sharpness of the DVD's image.

Press the ▼ button to select sharpness on the sub menu. Use the ▶ button access the slider. To increase the sharpness press the ▲ button, or the ▼ button to decrease the sharpness. When you have finished adjusting the setting press the ◀ button to go back to the sub menu.

Sound output

Select the Audio menu using the ◀▶ buttons on the remote control.

Downmix: Use this to select the coding used on the DVD you wish to play the sound in.

LT/RT: Left/Right channel output.

Stereo: Standard stereo output.

Dolby Setup

Select the Dolby menu using the ◀▶ buttons on the remote control.

Dynamic: This function is generally used when playing high volume programs at night and you don't want to disturb any neighbours.

The setting can lower the volume but still keep the original quality of the sound.

Press the ▶ button to open the sub menu. Change the setting using the ▲▼ buttons choose between OFF, 2/8, 4/8, 6/8 or FULL.

Getting started

1. Check that you have correctly connected all the cables and have installed the batteries in the remote control.
2. Switch on your TV/Monitor and check that it is set to the correct input, which for this DVD Player is HDMI, SCART or RCA phono/CVBS (composite video).
3. With the DVD Player in Standby mode, press the Power button on the DVD Player or the Power button on the DVD Remote control to turn the product on. The LED on the front right of the DVD Player will change to green.
4. Press the ▲ Open/Close button on the DVD Player or on the remote control to open the DVD drawer.
5. Place the disc that you wish to play, label side up, on the DVD tray. Please ensure that the disc is laying flat within the recessed disc shaped area on the tray.
6. Press the ▲ Open/Close button to close the drawer. The disc will start to play.

Adjust the volume

Volume +

Press and release to increase the volume in steps.

Press and hold to progressively increase the volume.

Volume -

Press and release to decrease the volume in steps.

Press and hold to progressively decrease the volume

Note: To gain optimal volume levels, adjust the volume on both the DVD Player and on the TV.

Mute

Press the MUTE to turn off the sound.

Press the MUTE again to turn the sound back on again.

■ Stop - Press once to pre-stop, Your DVD Player will remember the place where the disc was stopped. Press the ▶ Play/Pause button to resume playback from this point. Press the ■ Stop button twice to stop play completely.

Repeat play (DVD/CD/JPG)

DVD

If available on your DVD disc, your DVD player has repeat options of CHAPTER, TITLE, REPEAT ALL and OFF.

1. Repeatedly press the REPEAT button to display and activate each available option.

CD

If available on your CD disc, your DVD player has repeat options of REPEAT 1 (single track) and REPEAT ALL (repeats all the tracks on the disc) and REPEAT OFF.

Note: Some discs may not allow repeat functions.

Your DVD player has repeat options of

• REPEAT 1 (single image)
• REPEAT DIR (repeat all images in a folder)

• Repeatedly press the EPEAT button to display and activate each available option.

Zoom (DVD, Images)

With your DVD Player you can zoom into an image or part of an image on the screen. Options of X2, X3, X4 and 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 size are available.

1. Press the ZOOM button to activate the Zoom feature. Repeatedly press the ZOOM button to cycle through and display the available options.
2. When you are in Zoom mode, you can use the up, down, left and right buttons to scroll to the part of the picture that you wish to Zoom into.
3. To turn the Zoom feature off, repeatedly press the ZOOM button until ZOOM: OFF is displayed.

Note: Zooming into an image will degrade the quality as the pixels of the image are being enlarged.

Multi-angle (DVD)

Some DVDs contain scenes which have been shot simultaneously from a number of different angles. For these discs, the same scene can be viewed from each of these different angles by using the ANGLE button.

1. During playback, repeatedly press the NGLE button to cycle through the available angles.

Note: If different angles are not available on your DVD 'Invalid key' will be displayed.

Subtitles (DVD)

1. Press the SUBTITLE button to turn the subtitles in a movie (if available), on or off.

Numeric keypad (DVD/CD)

You can use the numeric keys to go to a particular Chapter or Track when playing a DVD or CD disc.

1. Enter the chapter or track number using the numeric keypad.

2. For chapter or track number 10, press the 10+ followed by the 0 button. For chapters or tracks higher than 10, such as track 24, press the 10+ button twice and then the 4 button.

DVD/USB

You can switch between DVD and USB mode to view images or play music files from a USB stick.

1. Insert the USB stick into the USB socket on the front of your DVD Player.
2. Press the DVD/USB button and use the ▼ down button to highlight USB. Press the ENTERn.
3. Your DVD Player will now read the content on your USB stick. Please wait for a few moments.
4. When the content on your USB stick is displayed, you can use the ▲ up, ▼ down, left and right buttons to move to the image or music file that you want, then press the ENTERn.
5. To go back to DVD mode, press the DVD/USB button and use the ▲ up button to highlight DVD. Press the ENTER.

Programming (DVD/CD)

During DVD or CD playback, you can program the order of the Chapter, Title, or Track that you watch.

1. Press the PROG button. The program setting menu will be displayed:

DVD

1. Use the direction and numeric buttons to enter and set the desired Title, Chapter or Tracks
2. After you have finished programming, use the direction buttons to highlight PLAY and then press the ENTER.
3. To reset the programmed entries and start again. Use the direction buttons to highlight CLEAR and then press the ENTER.

To obtain the best sound and picture quality from discs treat with care. Dirty, scratched or warped discs will cause broken or intermittent sound and pictures.

• Store discs in their original cases and avoid using in dusty environments
• When holding the disc, take care not to touch the playing surface.
• Do not place the discs in warm or sunny locations
• Never write on the playing surface of the disc or on the label surface with a ballpoint pen. Do not stick labels onto discs.

- Wipe any dust or fingerprints form the disc using a soft cloth. Wipe from the centre of the disc to the outside and never in a circular motion. Do not use conventional record cleaners, anti static agents, benzene, thinners or solvents.
