Frequently Asked Questions - MUL1107WW MATSUI

What is the temperature range for the Matsui MUL1107WW fridge?
The recommended temperature for the fridge compartment is between 0°C and 5°C. Turn the thermostat dial to a setting between 2 and 3 for normal operation. Use a thermometer to check the actual temperature.
How do I reverse the door on this fridge?
The door is reversible. You need a Phillips screwdriver and a flathead screwdriver. Unplug the fridge, remove the top hinge cover and screws, lift off the door, then detach the bottom hinge. Reinstall the hinges on the opposite side and reposition the door. Consult the manual for detailed steps.
How do I defrost the Matsui MUL1107WW fridge?
This model requires manual defrosting. Unplug the fridge, remove all food and shelves, and leave the door open. Place towels to absorb water. Do not use sharp objects to remove frost. Once defrosted, dry the interior and plug it back in.
Why is my fridge not cooling properly?
Check the thermostat setting – ensure it’s not on 0. Clean the condenser coils at the back (vacuum them). Make sure the door is sealing properly and the gasket is clean. Allow at least 10 cm clearance around the fridge for ventilation. If the problem persists, the thermostat may need replacement.
How do I clean the interior of the fridge?
Unplug the fridge. Remove all shelves and drawers. Wipe the interior with a warm water and mild detergent solution using a soft cloth. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. Avoid bleach or abrasive cleaners. Clean the door gasket with a damp cloth.
What is the noise level of this fridge?
The noise level is approximately 42 dB, which is normal for a compressor fridge. You may hear a humming sound from the compressor and occasional clicks from the thermostat. Ensure the fridge is level to reduce vibration noise.
Can I install the fridge in an unheated garage?
This fridge is rated for climate class N, meaning it operates between 16°C and 32°C. In a garage where temperatures may drop below 10°C, the fridge may not maintain proper temperature and can freeze food. It is not recommended for unheated spaces.
How do I level the fridge?
Use the two adjustable leveling feet at the front. Turn them clockwise to raise that side or counter-clockwise to lower. Place a spirit level on top of the fridge to check. The fridge should be slightly tilted backward for proper door closure.
What spare parts are available for this model?
Common spare parts include shelves, vegetable crisper, thermostat control knob, door gasket, and the LED light assembly. Contact Matsui customer service or a certified parts distributor for purchases.
What is the annual energy consumption of the MUL1107WW?
The estimated annual energy consumption is around 200 kWh per year, which corresponds to energy efficiency class F. Actual consumption may vary based on usage and ambient temperature.

INSTALLATION

Location

When selecting a position for your Larder you should make sure the floor is flat and firm, and the room is well ventilated with an average room temperature of between 12°C and 32°C. Avoid locating your Larder near a heat source, eg. cooker, boiler or radiator. Also avoid direct sunlight as it may affect the acrylic coating and increase the electrical consumption. Extreme cold ambient temperatures may also cause the appliance not to perform properly. This Larder is not designed for use in a garage or outdoor installation. Do not drape the Larder with any covering. When installing, ensure that 2cm (3/4") of free space is left at the sides. The Larder door can open to the right or the left, depending on what better suits the location. If you want to have the door swing reversed, we recommend you to contact a qualified technician to assist you. You should only try to reverse the door yourself if you believe that you are qualified to do so.

Note: All parts removed must be saved to do the reinstallation of the door. Take the door off as it is necessary to tilt the Larder backward. You should rest the larder on something solid and place something under the rollers so that it will not slip during the door change process. DO NOT lay the Larder flat as this may damage the coolant system.

- Ensure the Larder is unplugged and empty.

• We recommend 2 people to handle the Larder during assembly.

Switching on your Undercounter Larder

. The internal temperature of your Larder is controlled by a thermostat. There are seven setting, of which position 7 turns the larder coldest and position 0 turns the larder off.

. Adjust the Thermostat Control Dial to the desired position, bear in mind that the higher the number, the lower the temperature.

Position 4 is the recommended setting for the Larder when operating at normal room temperature (between 12^ and 32^ ).

. The Larder may not operate at the correct temperature if it is in a

particularly hot or a particularly cold room, or if you open the Larder door often.

. If you are concerned that your Larder is not being kept cold enough and wish to check the temperature you will need a special fridge thermometer. These are available from most supermarkets and hardware shops.

Place the thermometer in the Larder, where it can be read easily. Leave overnight, the temperature in the Larder should be between 0^ C and 5^ C.

Adjusting the temperature

The internal temperature of your Larder is controlled by a thermostat. The recommended position is between 1 to 4 for colder working environments (ie during Winter) and between 5 to 6 for hotter environments. Please adjusted according to the environment.

Noises inside the Undercounter Larder!

If you have not owned a Larder before, you may notice that it makes some rather unusual noises. Most of these are perfectly normal, but you should be aware of them!

These noises are caused by the circulation of the refrigerant liquid in the cooling system. It has become more pronounced since the introduction of CFC free gases. This is not a fault and will not affect the performance of your Larder.

This is the compressor motor working, as it pumps the refrigerant around the system.

Shopping for chilled foods

• Take a quick look at the chilled food package and make sure it is in perfect condition.

- Try to keep chilled food together whilst shopping and on the journey home as this will help to keep the food cold.

- Don't buy chilled food unless you can chill it straight away. Special insulated bags can be bought from the most supermarkets and hardware shops. These bags can keep chilled food cold for longer while transporting.

- Food that has been left in the car or at room temperature for a prolonged period of time could raise food temperature to the dangerous level, which allows harmful bacteria to grow.

• Always unpack and place chilled food in the larder before storing dry food.

Tips for keeping food perfect in the Undercounter Larder

- Cooked meats/ fishes should always be stored on a shelf above raw meats/fishes to avoid bacterial transfer. Keep raw meats/fishes in a container which is large enough to collect juices and cover it properly. Place the container on the lowest shelf at the bottom of the larder. - Leave space around your food, so it could allow air to circulate inside the larder. Ensure all parts of the larder are keep cool.

• To prevent transfer of flavours and drying out, pack or cover the food separately. Fruit and vegetables need not be wrapped.

- Always let pre-cooked food cool down before you put in the larder. This will help to maintain the internal temperature of the larder.

• To prevent cold air escaping from the larder, try to limit the number of times you open the door. We recommend you to only open the door when you need to put food in or take food out.

CLEANING

Cleaning the interior and the exterior of the Undercounter Larder

- Wipe the inside of the Larder with a weak solution of bicarbonate soda. Then rinse with warm water using a 'wrung-out' sponge or cloth. Wipe completely dry before replacing the shelves and salad bin.

- Use a damp cloth to clean the Larder exterior, then use the standard furniture polish to clean. Make sure that the door is closed to avoid the polish getting on the magnetic door seal or inside. - The grille of the condenser at the back of the larder and the adjacent components can be vacuumed using a soft brush attachment.

Cleaning tips

- Condensation may appear on the outside of the Larder. This maybe due to a change in the room temperature. Wipe off any residue of moisture. If the problem continues call the Customer Service Department.
