Frequently Asked Questions - SM S15 CAW Hotpoint Ariston

How often should I replace the dust bag?
Replace the dust bag when the full indicator shows red, or at least every 3-4 months for optimal performance. Use only original Hotpoint Ariston paper bags (type 12).
How do I clean the HEPA filter?
Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Remove the filter compartment, take out the HEPA filter, and gently tap it over a trash bin. Do not wash with water. Replace every 12 months.
What should I do if the suction power decreases?
Check if the dust bag is full, the filter is clogged, or there is a blockage in the hose or nozzle. Also ensure the suction control slider is set to maximum.
Can I use the vacuum without a dust bag?
No, the SM S15 CAW requires a paper dust bag for proper operation. Using it without a bag can damage the motor and void the warranty.
How do I rewind the power cord automatically?
Hold the plug gently and press the cord rewind button on the top of the vacuum. Guide the cord to avoid tangling.
What attachments are included and what are they used for?
The package includes: a crevice tool (for tight spaces), an upholstery brush (for furniture), a dusting brush (for delicate surfaces), and a combination floor nozzle (for carpets and hard floors).
How do I replace or repair the HEPA filter?
Open the filter cover at the back of the vacuum, remove the old filter, and insert a new one. Ensure it is properly seated. Replace only with genuine Hotpoint Ariston HEPA filters.
Why does the vacuum make a loud noise?
A loud noise may indicate a blockage, a full dust bag, or a damaged filter. Check the hose and nozzle for obstructions, and ensure the filter is clean and dry.
How do I store the vacuum cleaner?
You can park it vertically by inserting the floor nozzle into the parking slot on the rear of the unit, or store it horizontally. Ensure the cord is wound and attachments are secured.
Where can I find spare parts and accessories?
Spare parts such as dust bags, HEPA filters, and attachments are available on the official Hotpoint Ariston website or through authorized retailers. Use the model number SM S15 CAW for compatibility.
