How do I power on the GPX PD701W?

Press the Power button on the top panel or remote control. Ensure the battery is charged or AC adapter is connected.

Why won't the disc play?

Check that the disc is inserted correctly with label side up. Ensure the disc is compatible (DVD, CD, MP3) and not scratched. Try a different disc.

How do I charge the battery?

Connect the included AC adapter to the unit and a wall outlet. The battery indicator will light up during charging. Full charge takes about 3 hours.

The remote control is not working. What can I do?

Replace the batteries in the remote. Ensure there is no obstruction between remote and sensor. Point directly at the player from within 5 meters.

How can I connect to an external TV?

Use the included AV cable. Connect the yellow plug to video input, red/white to audio inputs on the TV. Set the player's output mode using the Source button.

What do the region code restrictions mean?

The player is set to Region 1 (USA/Canada). Discs from other regions may not play. To play multi-region discs, contact GPX support for unlock instructions.

How do I use the parental lock?

Press Setup on the remote, navigate to Parental Lock, enter the default password (0000), and set a rating level. Discs with higher ratings will require a password.

Why is there no sound from the built-in speakers?

Check volume level. Ensure headphones are not plugged in (they mute speakers). Try a different disc or audio output setting. If issue persists, reset the player.

Can I play MP3 files from a USB drive?

No, this model does not have a USB port. It only plays discs. For MP3 playback, burn them onto a CD-R or DVD-R as data disc.

The screen is black but I hear audio. What's wrong?

Press the Display button to toggle screen on. If still black, the screen may be damaged. Check the screen swivel mechanism. Otherwise, contact support.

Loading a Disc

1. Press the OPEN button to open the DISC DOOR.
2. Load a disc into the portable DVD player, label side facing up.
3. Close the DISC DOOR.

After a disc is loaded, it will begin playing automatically.

Playing a Loaded Disc

1. Follow the instructions for Loading a Disc.
2. If the disc does not begin playing automatically, press the PLAY/PAUSE button.

Programming a Loaded Disc

1. Follow the instructions for Loading a Disc and Playing a Loaded Disc.
2. While the loaded disc is playing, press the PROGRAM button on the remote.

3. Use the ARROW buttons to select a program slot.

4. Use the NUMBER KEYPAD to enter in the chapter and title, or track. Titles and chapters, or tracks will play in the order they are listed.

5. Repeat step 3 until the desired titles and chapters, or tracks are programmed.

6. Use the ARROW buttons to highlight the on-screen PLAY button. Press the OK button to begin playing the programmed disc.

2. Connect the RCA audio/video cable to the 3.5mm to 3 x RCA audio/video adapter and the RCA stereo audio inputs and composite video input on a television.
3. Audio and video played through the portable DVD player will now be output through the connected television.
