Thank you for your purchase of one of Speco Technologies 86 series speakers. This modern twist on the classic design sets the standard for background music and paging in commercial installations. All Speco Technologies' indoor speakers come with a LIFETIME warranty against manufacturing defects, so you can be confident in your choice of product.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1) For optimal installation, this speaker should be used with the Speco Technologies accessories indicated to the right.
2) Cut a 9.5" diameter hole in your ceiling tile.
3) This assembly requires at least 2.8" clearance from the back of the tile to the ceiling.
4) Install all products in the order shown.
5) To install the speaker, you must remove the grille (and the knob if using the SPG86TC). If you do not have a grille-removal tool, you can accomplish this by using the L-brackets on the back of the speaker. Choose two of these brackets (ideally on opposite sides of the speaker), and turn them so the tip of the L is facing out at a 90-degree angle. Then, push them downwards gently so that they push the grille off. You may need to alternate pressure from each side to accomplish this.
6) Once the grille is off, turn all the L-brackets so that they are locked facing in, and put the speaker into your cutout and mounting bracket. Once through, turn all the L-brackets again so that they are facing out, and using a Phillips screwdriver, turn each of the four until they clamp the bracket and ceiling tile securely.
7) Wire the positive lead from your amplifier to the colored lead of your desired power on the transformer.
8) Wire the negative lead from your amplifier to the black/common lead on the transformer.
12) Cutoff bare portion of unused leads and terminate with electrical tape or wire nuts.
13) For SPG86TC, adjust volume control knob on grille to desired level.

9) IMPORTANT: Ensure the total power of all wattage taps selected on all speakers running from this amplifier does not exceed 80% of the rated power of the amplifier. (e.g., if the amp rated power is 100W, do not put more than 80W of speakers on it). Speco Technologies is NOT responsible for damage to equipment due to improper installation.

10) IMPORTANT: Ensure you are wiring the proper voltage. Only use 70V taps with a 70V amplifier, and 25V taps with a 25V amplifier. Speco Technologies is NOT responsible for damage to equipment due to improper installation.

11) If daisy chaining speakers, ensure speakers remain in phase by keeping all the positives wired together and all the negatives wired together.
