Remove all packaging materials, stickers, and accessories from inside and outside. Wash the plates with warm soapy water, wipe dry, then lightly oil the plates with cooking oil and wipe with a soft cloth.
How do I use the Pie & Co SM2225?
Follow the steps in sections 1-5 of the manual. Plug in the appliance; the green operating light will come on. Once the temperature light goes out, place your sandwich on the plates, close the lid, and cook until golden. The green light cycles on/off to maintain temperature.
Can I cut food directly on the plates?
No, never cut food directly on the plates to avoid damaging the non-stick coating. Use a wooden or plastic spatula.
How do I clean the sandwich maker?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Wipe the plates and body with a sponge, hot water, and washing-up liquid. Do not immerse in water or use abrasive cleaners. The pastry cutter is dishwasher safe.
Is the appliance dishwasher safe?
No, the appliance itself is not dishwasher safe. Only the pastry cutter can be placed in the dishwasher. The plates and body must be hand washed.
What should I do if the power cord is damaged?
To avoid hazard, the cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.

If necessary, use an extension lead of equivalent diameter with an earthed socket. Take precautions to prevent tripping over the cord.
Why does the green light go on and off during cooking?
This is normal. The temperature indicator light cycles on and off to show that the selected cooking temperature is being maintained.
What if there is a slight smell or smoke on first use?
This is normal due to initial heating of non-stick coatings. It should disappear after a few minutes. Ensure good ventilation.
