Frequently Asked Questions - MW100-HH Atlas Sound

How do I synchronize the MW100-HH microphone with the MWRCVR receiver?
Place the microphone and receiver within 12 inches (30 cm) of each other. Press the synchronizing button on the microphone; the LED will illuminate. Then press the synchronizing button on the receiver. The display will show 'IRDA DATA SEND' and then 'IRDA TX FINISH' to confirm successful sync.
What should I do if the microphone and receiver do not synchronize?
Ensure the IR sensor panels are properly aligned and within 12 inches (30 cm) of each other. Remove any obstructions between them. If sync fails, try again or change the channel on the receiver first, then repeat the sync process.
How do I change the operating channel on the microphone?
The microphone's channel is changed by synchronizing with the receiver after selecting a new channel on the receiver. On the receiver, press SET until the channel/frequency page appears, use UP/DOWN to select a new channel, then wait 5 seconds. Then sync the microphone to match.
What is the maximum operating range of the MW100-HH?
The microphone has a maximum operating range of up to 100 meters (328 feet) in direct line of sight under optimal conditions.
What type of batteries does the MW100-HH use and how long do they last?
The microphone uses 2 AA alkaline batteries (not included). Under typical use, the batteries last approximately 10 hours.
Can I use multiple MW100-HH microphones with a single MWRCVR receiver?
No, the MWRCVR receiver supports only one channel at a time. To use multiple microphones, you would need additional receivers, each set to a different channel.
How do I mute the MW100-HH microphone?
The MW100-HH does not have a dedicated mute button. To mute, you can turn off the microphone or lower the volume on the receiver to zero.
What should I do if I experience interference during use?
First, try increasing the squelch level on the receiver (up to level 10) to reduce sensitivity. If interference persists, use the auto-scan function on the receiver to find a clearer channel, then resync the microphone.
How do I clean the MW100-HH microphone?
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not allow moisture to enter the microphone grille or battery compartment.
What is covered under the warranty?
The Atlas Sound MW100-HH comes with a 1-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Proof of purchase is required for warranty service.

Introduction

The AtlasIED MWRCVR wireless receiver is the ideal choice for a variety of applications ranging from classrooms and conference rooms to lecture halls and live presentations. Designed to work in conjunction with either the MWHHM wireless handheld microphone or the MWBTP wireless belt pack microphone, the MWRCVR allows for great flexibility in sound reinforcement applications. With the ability to connect to a variety of devices via the included balanced XLR or unbalanced line output the MWRCVR can be used with a variety of amplifiers or mixers to address the needs of any installation. Multiple units can be used in a single installation since the unit receives transmission via the UHF frequency band and pairs to individual MWHHM or MWBTP on available channels. The unit can be used as a standalone piece on a shelf or desk or it can be rack mounted by itself or with a second MWRCVR using the rack mount kit, model MWRMK (sold separately).

When interference is encountered try reducing the sensitivity of the receiver, thus less susceptible to interference.

  1. Press and release SET button until the SQUELCH SETUP page appears (Fig 14).
  2. Press UP or DOWN button to choose a new level between 1 and 10 (Fig 15).
  3. After the level is adjusted, wait 5 seconds to store the setting.

Since increasing the squelch level will also reduce the reception distance, it's recommended to choose the lowest level that can eliminate the interference. If this still does not solve the problem it means this frequency is not suitable. Adjust the squelch back to its preset level and use the scan function to locate a clear, interference-free channel.
