How do I set up the CRUX ACP-WLX for the first time?

Plug the adapter into the USB port of your radio that supports wired CarPlay or Android Auto. Turn the radio on and select the correct USB input. Wait for the ACP-WLX connection screen to appear. On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings and connect to the device named AUTO-xxxx. Then follow on-screen prompts.

What is the default WiFi password for the adapter?

The default WiFi password is 88888888. The network name is AUTO-xxxx.

How can I update the firmware on the ACP-WLX?

Connect your phone to the adapter's WiFi (AUTO-xxxx) and open a browser to 192.168.1.101. Tap 'Update' if a new version is available. Alternatively, download the firmware to a USB flash drive and insert it into the USB-A port on the adapter. The red and blue lights will flash alternately during the update. Wait until both lights stay on, then disconnect and reconnect the adapter.

Is the ACP-WLX compatible with Sony radios?

It is not compatible with the following Sony models: XAV-3200, XAV-3000, XAV-AX5500, XAV-AX5000, XAV-305DB, XAV-AX1000.

What do the indicator lights mean?

Red light always on means power is supplied. Blue light on means the adapter is connected to the car. Blue light flashing slowly means CarPlay or Android Auto is connected. Red and blue lights flashing alternately means a firmware update is in progress.

Can I switch between CarPlay and Android Auto mode?

Yes, you can double-tap the adapter to switch between CarPlay and Android Auto modes. The current mode will be displayed on the radio screen.

My iPhone won't connect wirelessly. What should I do?

If your iPhone doesn't connect automatically, manually join the adapter's WiFi network AUTO-xxxx with password 88888888. Then open a browser to 192.168.1.101 and tap 'Update' if an update is available. Retry the connection.

Which Android phones support wireless Android Auto with this adapter?

Wireless Android Auto requires Android 11+ with 5GHz Wi-Fi. Supported phones include: Google Pixel series (Pixel/XL to Pixel 6/6 Pro, Nexus 5X, 6P), Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ to S21/S21+ Ultra, Galaxy Note 8 to Note 20 Ultra, and other compatible devices.

Can I use a wired connection if wireless fails?

Yes, you can use the USB-A port on the adapter to connect your phone directly via wired USB for CarPlay or Android Auto. The adapter also supports wired connection through the included cables.

How do I reset the adapter?

The adapter resets automatically when power is cycled. To fully reset, disconnect it from the USB port for 10 seconds, then reconnect. For firmware issues, re-update via the web interface.

1. Plug in the ACP-WLX to the CarPay

3. Turn the radio ON and select the USB port that corresponds to the CarPlay or Android Auto input.
4. Wait until the ACP-WLX connection shows on the screen.
5. Go to the Bluetooth setting on your phone and connect to the BT listed on the radio screen.

• If your iPhone could not connect to the wireless CarPlay, please join the adapter's WiFi network [AUTO-xxxx] by manual and the password is 88888888. Next enter 192.168.1.101 on iPhone's browser, and tap "Update".

HOW TO USE WIRELESS ANDROID AUTO

Before using Android Auto, please make sure the latest Android Auto app installed on your smartphone.

• Enable "wireless Android Auto" on Android Auto app settings
• Turn on your smartphone's WiFi / Bluetooth and search BT name "AUTO-xxxx" then tap it to pair
• Confirm the BT pair request and other notifications
• It will then connect to Android Auto wirelessly after a few seconds.

HOW TO USE WIRELESS CARPLAY

• Turn on your iPhone's WiFi and Bluetooth, then pair to the Bluetooth named "AUTO-xxxx"
• Tap "Pair-Allow-Use CarPlay" on the iPhone popup notifications
• It will connect to CarPlay wirelessly after a few seconds.
