USER MANUAL TMP 100 Glide Gear

In order to use the TMP 100, you will need the following items, which are not included with the TMP 100:

  • A video recording device such as a DSLR or a Mirrorless camera, a tablet or a smartphone. The TMP 100 does not come with a phone or a tablet mount/adapter.
  • A device, typically, a tablet or a cellphone, displaying the script to be read in front of the camera. The device will need to be equipped with a tele-prompting application or software allowing mirroring of text.
  • A tripod capable of supporting the weight of the entire setup.

Compatibility

  • DSLR/Mirrorless Cameras: the distance between the mounting hole at the bottom of the camera and the front of the lens should not exceed 7.9" or 20cm
  • Tablet/Cell phone: the maximum display the TMP 100 will accommodate without part of the screen being cut off is 10.5" x 8" or 26.5cm x 20cm

Download a free or a paid version of a tele-prompter in the app store of your tablet or cellphone. The app must be able to mirror the script in order to function properly with the TMP 100.

Assembly

The TMP 100 can be set on a flat surface or mounted onto a tripod.

When using a tripod, remove the cheese-plate from the tripod head and screw it onto one of the mounting holes at the bottom of the TMP 100.

2 Using the thumb screws on both sides of the mirror, place the frame at a 45-degree angle (Fig. A).

3 Using the Velcro straps on the side of the mirror, attach the TMP 100's hood around the frame and zip up the sides.

4 The TMP 100's back plate features a 1/4-20 mounting screw inside a slot. (Fig. B).

Mount the camera on the 1/4-20 screw.

5 Place your camera lens inside the sock build into the hood.

If you are using a cellphone, place the sock around the phone so that you can still see the screen.

6 Loosen the 2 thumbscrews below the camera plate to extend the tray forward (Fig.C)

Place your prompting device on the tray.

Secure the position of your prompting device by clamping it in between the 2 clamps already mounted onto the tray. (Fig E).

Make sure to secure the tray by tightening the thumbscrews from Step 6.

If needed, adjust the position of the mirror in the same way you did in Step 2

Mounting Accessories

Shooting with a Cellphone

The TMP 100 includes an arm with a slot and a thumbscrew. Mount the arm onto the camera platform the same way you would mount a camera on the TMP 100.
2 Mount the cellphone holder included with the TMP 100 on the other end of the arm.
3 Place your smartphone in the phone holder in a landscape position, the camera facing the front of the teleprompter and the screen facing you as in Fig. G.
4 Slide your smartphone within the phone holder and rotate the position of the arm so that your cellphone's camera is as close as possible to the mirror and as centered as possible.
