Frequently Asked Questions - IVAPAC10KBTU Ivation

How do I install the Ivation IVAPAC10KBTU air conditioner?
Install the exhaust hose and window adapter using the included window kit. Ensure the hose is as short and straight as possible for optimal efficiency. Secure the window panel and plug the unit into a grounded 115V outlet.
Does this unit require continuous drainage?
In most conditions, the unit is self-evaporative and does not require continuous drainage. However, in high humidity, you can attach a drain hose to the continuous drain port to avoid manual emptying.
How often should I clean the air filter?
Clean the washable air filter every two weeks during heavy use. A dirty filter reduces cooling efficiency and airflow.
What is the noise level of this portable AC?
The noise level ranges from 52 dB on low fan speed to 56 dB on high fan speed, which is comparable to a normal conversation.
Can I use the unit without the exhaust hose?
No, the exhaust hose must be vented out a window or door to expel hot air. Operating without it will damage the unit and reduce cooling.
What is the cooling capacity for my room size?
The IVAPAC10KBTU can cool up to 300 square feet. For larger rooms, consider a higher BTU model.
How do I set the timer?
Press the Timer button on the remote or control panel. Use the +/- buttons to set the desired hour (1-24) for auto shut-off or auto start.
What should I do if the unit displays an error code?
Refer to the user manual for specific error codes. Common codes like 'E1' indicate a temperature sensor issue; try unplugging for 5 minutes and restarting.
Can I replace the remote control?
Yes, replacement remote controls are available from Ivation or third-party sellers. The remote uses two AAA batteries (not included).
How do I switch between cooling and fan only mode?
Press the Mode button repeatedly to cycle through Cool, Dehumidify, and Fan modes. The display will show the active mode.
