Important safeguard

Before using the electrical appliance, the following basic precautions should always be followed including the following:

  1. Read the instruction manual in full.

  2. Before using the appliance, make sure the voltage supply at the power socket is the same as the voltage specified on the identification plate on the appliance.

  3. Do not use an appliance that has a damaged cord or plug, or an appliance that has been found to be faulty or that has been damaged in any way. In any of these cases, take the appliance to the nearest after-sales service centre for inspection, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
  4. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the after-sales service center or by a qualified technician in order to avoid any danger.
  5. If the indicator light does not come on, or never goes out, this shows that the iron is not working properly. Disconnect it from the power socket and have it repaired by a qualified technician.
  6. The power cord must be withdrawn from the power socket before filling the water tank.
  7. Disconnect the iron from the power socket when you are not using it, before filling with water and before cleaning it.
  8. The iron must never be left unattended when it is connected to the power supply.
  9. To protect against electric shocks, do not immerse the iron in water or in any other liquid.
  10. Special care must be taken when using the iron if there are children nearby. Do not leave it unattended when it is connected to the power supply or standing on the iron board.
  11. Burns may be sustained if the hot metal parts, water or steam are touched. Be careful if you tip the iron upside-down: the water in the water tank may be hot.
  12. Do not leave the power cord dangling over the edge of a table or worktop and do not allow it to come into contact with a hot surface.
  13. Do not use the iron for any purpose other than its intended use.
  14. Do not use the iron outdoors.
  15. Keep this instruction manual.

Stainless steel sole plate

Using your steam iron

Before using for the first time

  1. Remove any adhesive labels, protective films or other foreign bodies that may be covering the sole plate.
  2. Heat the iron to the maximum temperature and iron a piece of damp cloth for several minutes in order to remove any residues which may be adhering to the sole plate.
  3. Open the cap on the water tank, keep the iron in a sloped position and pour in water. Be careful not to exceed the "Max" level marked on the tank. See Figure 1.
  4. Press to close the tank cover. A click sound will be heard.
  5. Connect the cord to power outlet and turn the temperature dial to your desired setting, which is depended on the fabric of garment. And the temperature indicator light will be illuminated. The temperature for each setting is as follows: The max temperature can be set is 180-230°C, at I setting, 80-120°C, at 2 setting, 120-160°C, at 3 setting, 160-200°C. See fig 2. Check the garment label for the required ironing temperature. Tips: Silk, woolen and synthetic materials: iron the reverse side of the fabric to prevent shiny spots. To prevent stains, avoid using the spray function. Start ironing the articles that require the lowest ironing temperature, such as those made of synthetic fibers.
  6. Make sure the steam switch is on Dry position. When the switch has been turned to Dry position a click sound will be heard. Then place the iron on the heel rest. See fig 4.
  7. Once the soleplate temperature has reached the preset temperature the indicator will be off, turn the steam switch to your desired steam output or Dry position and begin iron.
  8. Press the spray button a couple of times to moisten the laundry if necessary. Before spraying make sure that there is enough water in the water tank.
  9. A powerful shot of steam helps remove stubborn creases. The shot-of-steam function can only be used at Max temperature.
  10. This iron features an Anti-Drip steam shut-off facility: the iron automatically stops steaming at too low temperatures to prevent water from dripping out of the soleplate.

Cleaning and maintenance

Self-clean function

  1. Fill water into the water tank and set the temperature dial to Max position and connect to the power supply. Make sure the Steam switch is in the Dry position.
  2. Then the indicator light will be illuminated. Once the light is off hold the iron over the sink and turn the steam switch backwards with a little bit force. Steam and boiling water will come out of the soleplate. Impurities and flakes(if any) will be flushed out.
  3. Release the button as soon as water in the water tank has been used up.

After ironing

  1. Disconnect the iron from the power socket and leave it to cool completely.
  2. Empty any remaining water from the tank and, using a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaning agent (liquid) wipe away any scale or deposits that may have built up on the sole plate.
  3. Clean the outside of the iron with a damp cloth.
  4. Wind the cord loosely on its reel and lock with a cable grip.
  5. After emptying the iron, store it in a horizontal position on a stable surface and use a cloth to protect the sole plate.

Auto-decalcification feature

There is a decalcification box inside the appliance. The decalcification box can absorb unsolvable calcium ion and sent out solvable natrium ion so that the water can be soften. And the process of calcium depositing would be much slower.

Note: to keep the soleplate smooth, never let any metal materials rubs against it!

IRONING TIPS:

  • Always check first to see whether a label with ironing instructions is attached to the article to be ironed. Follow these ironing instructions in all cases.
  • The iron heats up quicker than it cools down. Therefore, start ironing the articles requiring the lowest temperature such as those made of synthetic fibres.
  • If the fabric consists of various kinds of fibres, you must always select the lowest ironing temperature for the composition of those fibres.
  • Silk and other fabrics likely to become shiny should be ironed on the reverse side. To prevent staining do not use the spray on silk or other delicate fabrics.
  • Velvet and other textures which rapidly acquire shiny spots should be ironed in one direction only(with the nap)applying light pressure. Always keep the iron moving.
  • Pure woollen fabrics(100% wool) may be pressed with the iron set to a steam position. Preferably set the steam control to maximum position and use a dry pressing cloth. When steam-ironing woolen fabrics, shining of the fabric may occur. This can be prevented by turning the article inside out and ironing the reverse side.
