Frequently Asked Questions - BodyZone BZB517 BREVILLE

How do I fit the Breville BodyZone BZB517 electric blanket to my mattress?
Unfold the blanket and lay it flat on the mattress with the controller socket at the top. Ensure the heating area does not hang over the edge or under pillows. Pull the fitted skirt over the mattress corners, stretching evenly to avoid creases. The heating wire section should be clear of pillows and not trapped.
How do I set the heat and timer on the controller?
Slide the switch from 'OFF' to 'MANUAL'. The LCD shows default settings. Press 'HEAT' to select upper or lower body zone, use '+'/'-' to choose level (0-6), then press 'ENTER'. Press 'TIMER', set hours (1-9) with '+'/'-', and confirm with 'ENTER'. For auto mode, slide to 'AUTO'; it remembers last manual settings.
What does the 'AUTO' setting do?
The 'AUTO' setting acts as a memory function. When you slide to 'AUTO', the blanket recalls the last manually programmed heat settings and auto-off timer. It is convenient for repeated use without re-entering preferences.
How do I clean the blanket and its removable cover?
Always detach the controller before cleaning. The blanket can be hand washed or machine washed on a wool/delicates cycle at ≤30°C. Do not wring, tumble dry, or iron. Air dry flat. The quilted cover can be removed and washed similarly; it can be tumble dried on low. Never dry clean.
Can I use the heated blanket on an adjustable bed?
It is not recommended for use on adjustable beds. If used, ensure the blanket and cord are not caught, creased, or damaged. Regular inspection is advised.
What are the safety precautions I should follow?
Do not use with infants or heat-insensitive persons. Avoid pins, folded use, or tucking in the blanket (only the skirt). Keep controller away from open windows. Unplug when not in use. Inspect for wear regularly. Use only the supplied controller. Overly high setting for long periods may cause burns.
Can I leave the blanket on all night?
It is not recommended to sleep with the blanket on. If you choose to do so, use the lowest heat setting (1,1) and consider using the auto-off timer to limit duration.
How do I store the blanket when not in use?
Allow the blanket to cool, then fold loosely (avoid sharp creases) or roll it. Store in the original reusable bag in a cool, dry place. For summer, you may remove the controller and leave the blanket on the bed as an underlay.
What should I do if the controller or blanket malfunctions?
Immediately unplug the blanket. Do not attempt to repair it yourself. Contact Breville customer service or an authorised service centre. The controller contains no user-serviceable parts.
What mattress sizes does the BZB517 fit and what is the skirt depth?
The BZB517 is designed for Single and King Single mattresses (approx. 1050 x 2000 mm). It has a fitted skirt of 400 mm depth. Ensure the blanket is not wider than the mattress to avoid overheating.

Unfold the heated blanket and lay it flat on the mattress, ensuring that the skirt is aligned with the corresponding edges. Ensure that the controller socket(s) is facing up and positioned at the top end of the mattress.

Ensure that the heating wire section on the blankets is clear of the pillow and does not hang over the sides of the mattress.

When fixing the removable cover to the heated blanket, ensure the fleecy or quilted cover is facing upwards with the studs facing down.
