IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE AND SAVE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
- Carefully read all instructions before operating the Breville Electric Blanket and save for future reference.
- Remove any packaging material and promotional stickers before using the electric blanket for the first time.
- Use the electric blanket only with the detachable controller(s) provided. Refer to the markings on the controller or the table in this instruction book for the model number of the controller.
- Use this blanket as an under blanket only.
- Not recommended for futons or similar folding bedding systems.
- This blanket is not recommended to be used on an adjustable bed. If used on an adjustable bed, check that the blanket or cord cannot become caught, creased, kinked, or damaged in any way.
• Make sure that the heating area (wire element) on any side of the bed does not hang over the edge of the mattress and that all instructions are read carefully before using the blanket.
- Do not attempt to expose the internal wires.
• This blanket must not be used by persons insensitive to heat and other very vulnerable persons who are unable to react to overheating.
• Children under the age of three are not to use this heating blanket due to their inability to react to overheating. - The electric blanket is not to be used by young children over the age of three unless the controls have been pre-set by a parent or guardian, and unless the child has been adequately instructed on how to operate the controls safely.
- Only for human use.

Prolonged use at one time at a high setting can result in heat stroke, skin irritation or burns.
-
Avoid sharp objects. Do not insert pins or any sharp objects into the electric blanket as they may damage the electrical wiring.
- Do not use the electric blanket when folded, creased, rucked or rolled.
- Do not use if damaged in any way.
- Do not tuck the blanket itself – only the fitted skirt should be tucked in under the mattress.
- Regularly check for creases in the blanket and smooth out before each use. Avoid pressing creases into the electric blanket.
- Keep the controller(s) away from an open window.
- Be sure that this blanket is used only on an alternating current supply circuit of correct voltage.
• The flexible power supply cord and controller(s) must, as far
as is practical, be kept outside the bed.
- Be sure that the electric blanket is always installed so that the flexible supply plug is adjacent and accessible to the main power outlet.
- Do not use the electric blanket if it is wet or moist. Allow to fully dry before operating.
- Switch off at the power outlet and remove the power plug from the outlet when this blanket is not in actual use.
- This blanket must be kept in a fully spread condition during use to avoid overheating. It is imperative that the blanket be frequently inspected to ensure that this condition is being maintained.
- Top bedding such as comforters should not be folded back when the blanket is switched on. Do not leave heavy
objects on the bed when the unit is switched on.
- Arrange the blanket so that the heating wires are not beneath pillows and/or bolsters.
- This electric blanket is not suitable for persons that experience bed-wetting. Only use products specifically designed for this condition.
- The blanket must not be used over or under a waterbed.
- Regularly inspect the electric blanket, power supply cord, plug and for any wear, damage or misuse. If signs of these are detected, immediately cease use of the electric blanket and return the entire unit to your nearest Breville Service Centre for examination, replacement or repair.
- If any abnormality or defect in operation of this blanket is observed,
discontinue its use immediately and contact the Breville Service Centre.
- There are no customer serviceable parts inside. The electric blanket is fitted with a specially designed controller(s) and no attempt should be made to repair it or to replace the protective fuse. Have the electric blanket serviced only by a qualified service agent at your nearest Breville Service Centre.
- Allow the electric blanket to cool down before folding and storing.
- When storing, fold neatly but not tightly (or roll) without sharp bends in the heating element and store where no other objects will be placed upon it.
- Remove all controllers before washing the blanket. Follow the care instructions found in this booklet.
- Do not dry clean this blanket. Cleaning liquids may have a deleterious effect on the insulation covering of the heating unit. It is recommended to follow instructions for localized soiling or washing if soiling occurs. Please refer to the Care, Cleaning & Storing instructions.
- This electric blanket is for domestic use only. Not intended for medical use in hospitals. - It is recommended that a qualified and registered person inspect the electric blanket after every 3 years of use.

NOTE
The controller(s) must be fitted correctly to operate the electric blanket. The connector is purposely designed to only fit into the inlet from one direction. If there is a gap, or the connector does not fit
properly into the inlet, do not force. Remove and try the other side.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS FOR ALL ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES
- Fully unwind the power cord before use.
- Connect only to a 230V or 240V power outlet.
- Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a bench or table, touch hot surfaces or become knotted.
• To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the power cord, power plug or appliance in water or any other liquid or allow moisture to come in contact with the part, unless it is recommended in the cleaning instructions.
• The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- It is recommended to regularly inspect the appliance. To avoid a hazard, do not use the appliance if power cord, power plug or appliance becomes damaged in any way. Return the entire appliance to the nearest authorised Breville Service Centre for examination and/or repair.
- Any maintenance other than cleaning should be performed at an authorised Breville Service Centre.
• This appliance is for household use only. Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended use. Do not use in moving vehicles or boats. Do not use outdoors. Misuse may cause injury.
- The installation of a residual current device (safety switch) is recommended to provide additional safety protection when using electrical appliances. It is advisable that a safety switch with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA be installed in the electrical circuit supplying the appliance. See your electrician for professional advice.
• Always turn the appliance OFF, switch off at the power outlet and unplug at the power outlet when the appliance is not in use.
- Before cleaning, always turn the appliance OFF, switch off at the power outlet, unplug at the power outlet and remove the power cord, if detachable, from the appliance and allow all parts to cool.
- Do not place this appliance on or near a heat source, such as hot plate, oven or heaters.
- Position the appliance at a minimum distance of 20cm away from walls, curtains and other heat or steam sensitive materials and provide adequate space above and on all sides for air circulation.

Operation
BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove any promotional material and packaging from the electric blanket. Ensure all parts are included as per the components section in this booklet.
SECURING YOUR FITTED ELECTRIC BLANKET
Unfold the electric blanket and lay it flat on the mattress, ensuring that the skirt is aligned with the corresponding mattress edges.

NOTE
Ensure that the heating wire section on the electric blankets is clear of any pillows and does not hang over the sides of the mattress.

NOTE
The electric blanket must not be wider than the mattress with which it is to be used. It is normal for a small section of the fitted skirt to be showing on top of a larger sized mattress.
Completely tuck the elastic of the blanket skirt under the mattress to secure.
When fitted to the mattress correctly, the controller inlet(s) should be facing upwards and positioned close to the top of the mattress close to where your shoulder would be when lying down.

The electric blanket is an underblanket only. Never use as a top blanket over the occupant of the bed.

NOTE
Ensure that the blanket is stretched completely flat when placed on the mattress and creases or rucking is not evident.

WARNING
No heating wire must be trapped or tucked into any part of the bed.
FITTING THE REMOVABLE QUILTED COVER
The electric blanket must be correctly fitted to the mattress before fitting the removable cover.
When attaching the removable quilted cover to the electric blanket, the quilted cover should be facing upwards with the studs facing down.
Secure the removable cover to the electric blanket using the snap-fastening studs provided. All studs should be fastened to prevent the cover from moving.
Check that the electric blanket controller is not connected to the power outlet before connecting.
Using the arrows on both parts as a guide, insert the controller connector into the inlet located on the electric blanket (see Fig. 1).

Press the Power button to turn on the controller. The default Heat setting 6 and Timer 3 hours will illuminate on the LED display, flash 3 times then automatically commence heating and counting down.
If the LED screen displays 'F1', this is an indication that the connector may have a loose connection.
To correct, press and hold the Power button on the controller for 3 seconds to turn off, and then turn the power off at the outlet. Disconnect and reconnect the connector into the inlet, ensuring a correct fit.

NOTE
The connector fitting is purposely designed to only fit into the inlet from one direction. If there is a gap, or the connector does not fit properly into the inlet, do not force. Remove and try the other side.
The electric blanket comes with detachable controller(s) which must be removed when laundering the blanket or while storing when not in season.
Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to turn the controller off, then disconnect the controller from the power outlet.
Push inwards on the two locking clips on the controller connector to release and pull away from the inlet. (see Fig. 3).

When first turned on, or when turned on after disconnecting from the power supply, the electric blanket digital controller will display a default Heat setting of 6 and a default Timer setting of 3 hours.
The electric blanket also has a memory function which will display the last programmed Heat and Timer setting used unless the blanket is disconnected from the power supply.

NOTE
To assist fast heat up, it is recommended to start on a higher heat setting, than adjust the heat setting to your preferred comfort level.
Your Breville electric blanket's digital controller has 9 programmable Heat settings to allow you to choose your own level of heating comfort, and a programmable Timer between 1 to 9 hours to automatically turn off the electric blanket when the set time has elapsed.
- Connect the controller(s) to the blanket.
- Plug the power cord into a 230V or 240V power outlet and turn on at the power outlet.
- Press the Power button. The LED screen will illuminate and the default Heat setting of '6' and Timer hours of '3' will flash three times, and then heating and the countdown will commence.
- After 10 seconds if no buttons are pressed, the display screen will dim to enable a comfortable sleeping environment. Press any button to illuminate the display to check settings.
- Once the set time has counted down, the electric blanket will stop operating and the controller display with go into standby mode showing ‘-’:
- Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to turn off the controller or follow the steps found in this booklet to program new Heat and Timer settings.

NOTE
On initial use, it is recommended that the blanket be set on the highest heat setting (9) for 3 hours before sleeping on the bed. This will assist in drying out any moisture which may have accumulated in the mattress.

NOTE
This electric blanket has a memory function which will recognise the last set heat and timer setting unless the blanket is disconnected from the power supply.

NOTE
If no buttons are pressed after 10 seconds, the controller LED display will dim. Press any button to reactivate the display to view settings.

NOTE
When first used or after disconnecting from a power supply, the electric blanket will display a heat default setting of 6 and a timer default setting of 3 hours.

SELECTING A HEAT SETTING
The Breville electric blankets have a Heat setting range of 1 to 9. This is displayed on the left side of the LED display.
- Press the Heat button; the heat symbol will illuminate, and the heat number will start to flash.
- Press the + or - buttons until the desired heat setting displays on screen. The chosen number will flash 3 times then illuminate solid, and the blanket will commence heating.

NOTE
If the Heat setting is not adjusted, the default heat setting of 6 will display, or the last used heat setting (if the blanket has not been unplugged since last use) will set automatically.

JUSTING THE AUTO-OFF
TIMER
The Breville electric blankets have a programmable auto-off Timer. The Timer can be programmed from 1 to 9 hours to automatically turn off the electric blanket. This is displayed on the right side of the LED display.
- Press the Timer button; the timer symbol will illuminate, and the timer number will start to flash.
- Press the + or - buttons until the desired auto-off time is displayed on screen. The chosen number will flash 3 times then illuminate solid, and the blanket will commence heating as the timer starts to countdown in 1-hour increments.

NOTE
If the Timer is not adjusted, the default time of 3 hours will display, or the last time set (if the blanket has not been unplugged since last use) will set automatically.

NOTE
The electric blanket is perfect for warming a bed prior to going to bed. It is not recommended to sleep with the electric blanket on all night. Should you choose to sleep with the blanket on for long periods or all night, the lowest heat settings 1 should be used.

NOTE
When lying on a electric blanket, your body forms part of an electromagnetic field created by the blanket. Some people may feel a tingling sensation or subtle vibration as a result of this, or when touching someone else lying on the electric blanket. This is common to most electric blanket brands and only some people experience this effect. There is no cause for concern and the sensation is not an electric shock. All Breville electric blankets are quality tested in our Australian laboratories for safety, durability and performance and feature overheat protection as an additional safety feature.
WHEN NOT IN USE
When the electric blanket is not in use, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to turn off the controller, then turn off and disconnect from the power outlet.

Care, Cleaning & Storage
DO NOT DRY CLEAN. DO NOT IRON.
or comfort and cleaning convenience, the removable quilted cover can easily be detached and washed, then reattached to the electric blanket when dry.
Use only the following instructions when cleaning the electric blanket and/or quilted cover.
Before cleaning, ensure that any controller is unplugged from the power supply and detached from the blanket.
SPOT CLEANING
- Sponge the affected area using a lukewarm neutral detergent or mild soapy solution.
- Follow this with a sponging action using a clean water solution.
- Remove any excess water by compressing the wet area between absorbent towels.
HAND WASHING
- Immerse the electric blanket with controller(s) removed in a soapy solution of lukewarm water and mild, neutral detergent.
- Soak for five minutes then gently squeeze the solution through the blanket.
- Rinse thoroughly in clean, lukewarm water, then gently squeeze any excess water from the electric blanket.

WARNING
The controller(s) MUST be removed from the blanket when washing. Never immerse the detachable controller(s) in water or any other liquid.
MACHINE WASHING
Both the electric blanket and quilted cover can be washed in a domestic washing machine (size permitting) or by a commercial laundry.
- When washing in a domestic washing machine, wash on the WOOL or DELICATES setting using a neutral detergent or mild soapy solution.
- DO NOT wash on a HOT cycle; the temperature must be kept below 30^ C .
- DO NOT use high speed or extra spin cycles.
- DO NOT machine wash with the controller(s) connected to the blanket.

IMPORTANT
Ensure the blanket is completely dry after cleaning and before using.
Ensure the quilted cover is completely dry before attaching to the electric blanket.
AIR DRYING
- Drape the electric blanket and/or quilted cover across a clothes line and drip dry.
- DO NOT use pegs to secure the electric blanket in position
• DO NOT dry with a hair dryer or heater.
• DO NOT twist or wring dry. - DO NOT tumble dry the electric blanket as it may damage the internal heating wires.
• DO NOT use moth balls or sprays.

WARNING
DO NOT use the electric blanket if it is wet.
DO NOT attached the quilted cover to the electric blanket if it is still wet.
STORAGE
Allow the electric blanket to cool down before folding and storing.
When not in use, store the blanket and controller(s) in a cool, clean and dry location.
Fold neatly but not tightly (or roll) without sharp bends in the heating element and store where no other objects will be placed upon it.
Store in a safe place where it will remain dry and clean.
