CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS

• Read and follow strictly the instructions contained in this manual.
• Keep this manual for future reference and include it if you give the product to another user.
• This device works with dangerous 110 - 240V mains power. Do not open, do not disassemble and don't try to operate inside it. In case of wrong use an electric shock may occur.
• The product is conceived for professional use. Its installation must be carried out exclusively by specialized technicians, skilled in electric and audio systems. In case of wrong installation or connections, the manufacturer doesn't take any responsibility for damages to people or objects.
  • Make sure that your power outlet voltage matches with the product's voltage. A wrong voltage would seriously damage the fixture.
• Before making any connection with other devices, check that all the fixtures are disconnected from the power source and that all the volumes are set on minimum.
• The product is not suitable for outdoor use. To avoid the risk of shortcircuits don't expose it to high temperatures (above 40°), rain or humidity.
  • Do not allow flammable liquid, water or metal objects to enter the product.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

• The warranty covers manufacturing defects and faults occurred in the first 2 years from the date of purchase. In case of purchase with invoice, the warranty is limited to 1 year.
  • Damages caused by negligence or wrong use of the device are not covered by warranty.
  • The warranty is no longer effective if the item is modified or disassembled by not authorized people.
  • This warranty doesn't necessarily envisage the product's replacement.
• External components, batteries, knobs, switches and any removable or subject to wear and tear parts are excluded from warranty.
• Shipment for the return of faulty items is at expense and risk of the owner.
• For all intents and porpuses the warranty is effective only upon exhibition of the invoice or of the purchase receipt.
• If you send the product for repair, it must be shipped with complete original packaging: we therefore recommend to save it.

INTRODUCTION

This amplifier has been designed for use in houses, shops, offices, schools etc...

It is endowed with protection systems preventing damages caused by short circuits, overheating and overloads and making it safe and reliable..

It features several inputs, both of line and mic type, with RCA, 3.5mm and Toslink sockets.

It supports 4 -8 - 16 Ohm connections and is equipped with a sophisticated multimedia module to play tracks from USB, receive audio via bluetooth and play FM radio signals.

LOW IMPEDANCE SPEAKER CONNECTION

When using low impedance speakers the main rule to be respected is that the total impedance of the speakers must be compatible with the impedances managed from the amplifier to which the speakers will be connected (generally 4, 8, 16Ω), If you use more than one speaker, the value of impedance will be added up or divided depending on the type of connection (in series or in parallel). If you connect only one speaker you have to consider the impedance of the speaker itself.

Here are two examples of connection:

A. Parallel speaker connection

PARALLEL WIRING

The impedances are divided. In this example the 2 x 8Ω speakers can be connected to an amplifier suitable for 4Ω connections.

8 Ω/2 = 4 Ω [Total impedance]

B. Series speaker connection

SERIES WIRING

The impedances add up. In this example the 2 x 8Ω speakers can be connected to an amplifier suitable for 16Ω connections.

8 Ω × 2 = 1 6 Ω ( Total impedance )

If you use few speakers it is easy to reach the 4, 8, 16Ω impedance requested by common amplifiers, but when you use several speakers it is necessary to choose a series/ parallel mixed wiring, which will allow to obtain the desired impedance.

Here is an example:

SERIES / PARALLEL MIXED WIRING

In this example the impedance of the 8Ω speakers is added (being connected in series). Then the 2 groups of speakers, connected in parallel, halve their impedance to reach a total impedance of 8Ω again.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

• Connect your microphones to the MIC front sockets (5) using standard 6,3mm jack connectors.
• The RCA sockets (18-19) are intended for connection of external devices to provide a line signal (example: a CD player), while the socket (17) is specific for a turntable.
• It is possible to connect an optical signal coming from decoders, TVs, amplifiers etc to the toslink socket (21).
  • The RCA (22) socket is intended for a coaxial external signal.
• The DAC (20) socket can be used to connect a computer to exchange high quality audio signals.
• Connect the 8 Ohm speakers to the sockets (13-14) taking care to respect the polarities indicated for the left and right channels. Make sure that the speakers have the correct power. Speakers with less power than the amplifier could be damaged. Ask for advise to your trusted retailer.
  • Plug the FM antenna into the specific socket (15).
  • An amplified subwoofer can be connected to the back socket (16).
• If you want to play tracks from a USB stick, you can connect it to the specific socket (2). It is possible to select and control the tracks by means of the key (8-9-10) under the display.
• Once you have connected all the fixtures, insert the power cable into the socket (12) and connect its plug to a power outlet with appropriate voltage.
  • Turn on your amplifiers by pressing the POWER button (1) on the front side.
• Adjust the volume by means of the rotating knob (4).
  • Use the INPUT (6) button to select the audio signal's source.
• Thanks to the button A/B [7] it is possible to activate the speakers of zone "A", zone "B" or both.
• By pressing repeatedly the MENU button (11) it is possible to select the settings to be adjusted by means of the knob (4) (bass & treble, mic volume, echo effect etc...). The display (3) will show the following indications:

REMOTE CONTROL

The included remote control allows to adjust from a distance (max 6m) the amplifier's settings, such as on/off, music source selection, volume and tracks playback.

Some functions can be managed only from the remote control. Below is the description of some specific keys:

STOP (A): With a short press all the amplifier's volumes will be muted. To restore them press this button again.

ENGLISH

VOCAL CUT (B): If pressed it removes the voice from the tracks allowing to sing over music. This function tries to detect the frequencies usually attributed to human voice, but the result might be not perfect.

RESET (C): The amplifier saves the last use settings, which will be maintained when turned on again. If you want to reset the factory settings it is necessary to press this button.

REPEAT (E): If pressed it allows to repeat a track or all the tracks.

MIC PRI (D): It activates the microphone priority. The music volume will be reduced when speaking and then automatically restored.

REC (G): Pres to record your voice on a USB device

The functions of the other keys of the remote control can also be performed by means of the buttons on the amplifier. In case of malfunction or too short operating range check the batteries charge and if necessary replace them.

BLUETOOTH

Press repeatedly the INPUT key (6) until you select the bluetooth function. Search for the amplifier (AM S450) in your smartphone or tablet bluetooth menu. Once paired the speaker will play the audio coming from your device.

FM RADIO

Press repeatedly the INPUT key (6) until you select the radio function. Press and hold the PLAY key to start scanning and save the stations. Once the scan is completed choose the desired station using the track selection keys. For a better reception insert a specific antenna into the back connector (15).

USB

The amplifier supports USB devices with a memory up to 32GB. The pen must be in FAT32 format. Once it is plugged into the USB port, playback will automatically start. The device can be used also to save the recordings made by means of the remote control. The supported formats are MP3, WMA, FLAC and APE also with "lossless" quality.
