Control panel

BEFORE FIRST USE

1. Remove all packaging from the freezer, tearing off the protective film on the lid and freezer body.
2. Using a screwdriver (not supplied), unscrew and remove the cover plate. Uncoil the power cord.
3. Allow two hours for the freezer's refrigerant to settle. Not doing so may lead to decreased cooling capabilities and cause damage to the freezer.

Placement

Place the freezer indoors on a flat, dry surface that is well-ventilated. Ensure it is away from other heat sources and direct sunlight.

There should be at least a 70cm clearance above the freezer, and at least 20cm away from all other sides.

Running prior to use

Plug the power cord into a power outlet and turn on the outlet.

Operate the freezer for 2–3 hours before loading fresh or frozen foods. If the ambient temperature is high (for example, in the summer), operate the freezer for 4 hours prior to loading food.

OPERATION

Powering

Plug the power cord into a power outlet and turn on the outlet. The display will turn on for three seconds then show ‘-18°C’ to reflect the default temperature of the freezer.

Locking and unlocking the control panel

After the freezer is turned on, the control panel will automatically lock itself to prevent accidental touches changing the settings of the appliance. When wanting to use the control panel:

• Press and hold the super freeze/lock button for three seconds. The display will flash once and become unlocked.
• After 30 seconds of inactivity, the control panel will flash once and automatically lock itself. Alternatively, press and hold the super freeze/lock button for three seconds to lock the control panel.

Adjusting the temperature

This freezer has a temperature range between -30^-10^/-22^-50^ .

• Press the temperature button to see the currently set temperature.
• To adjust the temperature, continue pressing the temperature button until the desired temperature is displayed. The display will cycle through the temperatures as seen below.

Notes:

• If setting to -30^ , it is highly recommended the ambient temperature is at or below 25^ .
• In the event of a power failure, the freezer will run on the previously set temperature when power is recovered.

Switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit

If wishing to switch temperature units, press and hold the temperature button for three seconds.

The Celsius indicator will illuminate when the freezer is using Celsius, and the Fahrenheit indicator will illuminate if the freezer is using Fahrenheit.

Super freeze mode

The super freeze mode sets the freezer to -30^ for up to 24 hours. To activate super freeze mode, press the super freeze/lock button and the super freeze indicator will illuminate.

To exit super freeze mode, press the super freeze button again.

Notes:

• After 24 hours of using the super freeze mode, the freezer will also automatically exit super freeze mode.
• In the event of a power failure or sensor failure, the freezer will also exit super freeze mode when recovered.

Sleep function

When activated, the sleep function turns off the display after 30 seconds of inactivity to conserve energy. This function is enabled by default.

• To turn off the sleep function, press and hold the temperature and super freeze buttons for five seconds. The display will stay on and show the currently set temperature.
• To turn on the sleep function, press and hold the temperature and super freeze buttons for five seconds. This display will show 'ON' to confirm the sleep function is activated.

Temperature warning indicator

If the freezer becomes too hot, the freezer will sound an alarm and the temperature warning indicator will illuminate.

Energy saving tips

• Allow hot foods to cool to room temperature before placing in the appliance.
  Overloading the appliance forces the compressor to run longer, and foods that freeze too slowly may lose quality or spoil.
• Ensure to wrap foods properly and wipe containers dry before placing them in the appliance. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the appliance.
• Compartments should not be lined with aluminium foil, wax paper, or paper towel. Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the appliance less efficient.
• Organise and label food to reduce lid openings and extended searches. Remove as many items as needed at one time and close the lid as soon as possible.

CLEANING & CARE

Dust build-up in and around the freezer will lead to reduced cooling capabilities and increased energy use.

Ensure the freezer is turned off and unplugged before cleaning.

Interior

The interior of the freezer should be cleaned regularly to avoid odour.

1. Combining two tablespoons of baking soda with a litre of warm water, use a soft cloth or sponge to clean the inside of the freezer.
   For header to reach areas (for example, gaps, corners), use a soft brush. If necessary, other tools may be used to ensure no contaminants or bacteria accumulate in these areas.
2. Using soapy water or diluted detergent, wipe the lid seal with a soft cloth to ensure there is no debris.
3. Rinse with water and wipe clean.
4. After cleaning, open the lid and let it dry naturally before turning on the power.

Notes:

• Do not use soaps, detergents, and spray cleaners to clean the inside of your freezer as these may create odours or contamination.
• Do not rinse the freezer directly with water or any other liquids.

Exterior

Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water or detergent, then wipe dry.

Notes:

• Do not use hard brushes, clean steel balls, wire brushes, abrasives (for example, toothpastes), organic solvents (for example, alcohol, acetone), boiling water, acid, or alkaline items as they may damage the freezer surface and interior.
• Boiling water and organic solvents (for example, benzene) may deform or damage plastic parts.

Water outlet

Unscrew the drain plug over the water outlet and drain regularly.

Basket

Clean the basket with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water or diluted detergent. Allow to air dry or use another soft cloth to wipe dry.

Defrosting

Frost will accumulate in the freezer over extended use and the freezer will need to be defrosted. It is recommended to defrost when the frost is about half a centimetre thick. To defrost:

1. Unplug the freezer and open the lid. Remove any foods and the basket, then place the foods in a cool area.
2. Place a container under the water outlet. Unscrew the drain plug over the water outlet and allow any water to flow out.
3. As the freezer defrosts, wipe the interior with a dry, soft cloth. An ice scraper may be used to accelerate the cleaning process.
4. Once defrosted and cleaned, place the basket and any foods back into the freezer.

Note:

Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process as this may cause damage to the refrigerant circuit.

There is a slight difficulty when opening the lid.	When the freezer is operating, there will be a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the freezer. This results in difficulty when opening the lid and is a normal phenomenon.
The walls on the side of the freezer are heating up.	The freezer may emit heat during operation, particularly when the ambient temperature is high. This is caused by the radiation of the condenser and is a normal phenomenon.
There is condensation on the surface of the freezer.	When the ambient temperature is high, it is normal to detect condensation on the exterior surface and lid seal on the freezer.Wipe the condensation off with a dry towel.
