Use the device only for the purpose intended. Any other use may result in damage to the device or injuries.
- Pay particular attention to the warnings on the device and in this instruction manual.
- Use the device only for its intended purpose. Improper use may lead to hazards.
- In the event of improper use, the manufacturer will not accept any liability for the resulting damages.
- Do not place heavy objects that exceed the maximum kg rating on the device.
- Never immerse electrical parts of the device in water during cleaning or operation. Never hold the device under running water.
- For accuracy, ensure scales are used on an even, hard and level surface.
- The maximum weight of the scales is 5kg, tare included.
- Do not expose the scales to humidity or extreme temperatures to ensure optimum shelf life.
- These are electronic high precision scales. Ensure scales are never overloaded, dropped or impacted as this will cause damage to the unit's internal components.
- This appliance is suitable for the weighing of small items and is not intended for professional or commercial use.
- If the result of the weighing is not displayed correctly on the screen, check to see if the batteries have been put in correctly. If batteries have not been used for an extended period of time, please replace them and try the scales again.
- Clean device after each use using a dry or lightly damp cloth only.
TO INSTALL OR REPLACE BATTERY
- This product works with 2 x AAA batteries (not included).
- Open battery case cover at the bottom of scale.
- Take out the used batteries with the aid of a sharp object.
- Install the new batteries according to the polarity indicated (+ / -).
NOTE: Please remove batteries if the unit is not in use in a for a long period of time. (more than three months).
UNIT CONVERSION BUTTON
At the bottom of scale, you will find a unit conversion button as shown in the picture below. Press this button to alternate between metric 'kg/g' and imperial 'lb/oz'.

The scale contains both unit systems: metric (kg,g) and imperial (lb,oz). Press the UNIT button to convert between the two systems. (You'll see the UNIT button at the bottom of the product, as shown left.)

ZERO OR TARE WEIGHT FUNCTION
To weigh different loads consecutively without removing loads from the scale, place the first Load onto the scale to obtain a weight reading. Press the ZERO MODE button to reset the LCD reading to "0" before adding next load. You can repeat this operation as many times as desired until the maximum weight (5kg/5000g is reached).

■ "ZERO" function
When total sum of all loads on scale reach ≤ within 4% of the scale's max.weight capacity:
(4%=80g when the capacity is 2000g, 200g when the capacity is 5000g)
The LCD will show ---- each time ZERO MODE is pressed.
The LCD showing ---- means the scales are not stable or have been overloaded. Please remove the items from the scale wait for a moment for the scales to recalibrate.

■ "TARE" function
When total sum of all loads on scale >4% of scale's max.weight capacity:
(4%=80g when capacity is 2000g; 200g when the capacity is 5000g)
The LCD will show ---- each time ZERO MODE is pressed.
The LCD showing ---- means the scales are not stable or have been overloaded. Please remove some items from the scale wait for a moment for the scales to recalibrate.
When using the "TARE" function, the LCD screen will display a "T" icon on the LCD screen.
NOTE: Weight capacity is decreased by total weight of all loads.
Under the "TARE" function:
By pressing ZERO MODE, you can see the total weight of all loads on the scale. If you would like to weigh additional loads in succession, press the ZERO MODE button to reset the LCD reading to '0' and add additional loads.
NOTE: If the scales max weight has been exceeded or is unstable, the display will read - - - . To resolve this issue, remove the excess weight from the weighing platform or rebalance the load.
TO START WEIGHING
WEIGHING MODE
- Place the scales on a firm, level surface.
- Place bowl (if used) on the scale.
- Press down on the scale platform to turn on.
- Wait until LCD shows '0'. Press [ZERO/MODE] button to convert to weight mode.
- If using a container to weigh items, load the container onto the scale - the LCD will display the weight of the container. Press and hold the [ZERO] button until ---- is displayed on the LCD then release the button. The LCD will display '0'. The scale is now ready to weigh the contents only minus the weight of the container.
VOLUME INDICATION MODE
- Place the scales on a firm, level surface.
- Place bowl (if used) on the scale.
- Press down on the scale platform to turn on.
- Wait until LCD shows '0'. Press [ZERO/MODE] button to convert to volume mode.
- If using a container to weigh items, load the container onto the scale - the LCD will display the weight of the container. Press and hold the [ZERO] button until ---- is displayed on the LCD then release the button. The LCD will display '0'. The scale is now ready to weigh the "volume" contents only minus the weight of the container.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
- Clean the scale with a slightly damp cloth. DO NOT immerse the scale in water or use chemical/abrasive cleaning agents.
- All plastic parts should be cleaned immediately after contact with fats, spices, vinegar and strongly flavored/colored foods. Avoid contact with acids citrus juices.
- Always use the scale on a hard, flat surface. DO NOT use on carpet.
TROUBLESHOOTING
BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE
If the scale fails to operate:
- Check to make sure the scale is inserted with fully charged batteries.
- Check the packaging and contents for completeness and damages. Should the contents in the packaging not be complete or damaged, do not use the device. Return it to your retail outlet immediately.
DO NOT TRY TO ADJUST OR REPAIR THE SCALES YOURSELF.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Troubleshoot your problem by using the chart. If the scale still does not operate correctly, it may be defective.

LIMITED WARRANTY
- Nothing in this warranty affects the Consumer's rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The benefits to the Consumer under this Warranty are in addition to the rights and remedies of the buyer under any Consumer Guarantees. The Australian Consumer Law requires that we confirm that:
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
- Subject to Clause 1, the Seller warrants that Westinghouse branded products will be free of manufacturing defects and will perform to the Seller's specifications subject to the following clauses.
- The benefit of this Warranty extends only to the owner of the property in which the Products manufactured or supplied by the Seller are installed and used by the owner for the duration of the Warranty Period under standard domestic applications.
- The Warranty commences on the date of the purchase of the product and continues for the benefit of the Owner for the Warranty Period. If within the Warranty Period a manufacturing defect is discovered in the Product, or the Product fails to perform to the Seller's specifications as a result of some defect in material or workmanship in the Product, then the Seller will at its own discretion:
a.) Repair or replace the Product at the cost of the Seller. Goods repaired or replaced under this Warranty will be warranted for the remaining period of the Warranty. Products presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished products of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the products.
b.) Refund the purchase price paid by the consumer.
- The Warranty does not apply to Product that :
a.) Has failed due to excessive wear and tear beyond what is considered to be reasonable.
b.) Has been misused or neglected.
c.) Has been damaged accidentally or by acts of God including fire and flooding.
d.) Has been used or operated contrary to operating or maintenance instructions.
e.) Has been damaged by the Consumer or a third party authorised to act for the consumer in transit from the Sellers store to the Consumer.
f.) Has been modified, altered or tampered with by unauthorized persons.
g. Damage caused by insects or vermin and claims based on the presence of insects or vermin.
h.) Has been used in commercial situations or applications.
It also excludes breakables such as glass and ceramic items, consumable items such as those that require periodic replacement as part of the ordinary use, lack of care or maintenance of the product or as directed by the instruction booklet, minor cosmetic issues (including, without limitation, paint and coatings) and normal wear and tear, and does not cover the cost of claiming under the warranty or transporting the goods to and from the place of purchase.
- In order to make a claim under the Warranty, the Owner must, where possible return the goods to the Seller's store at the Owner's cost. Proof of purchase must be supplied in all cases.
- The seller will examine any returned Products and if the Seller determines that there is an apparent defect through no fault of the Owner, the Seller will:
a.) Make note of the Owner's contact details including the Owner's telephone number which the owner can be contacted during business hours, postal address and e-mail address.
b.) Make note of the defects reported by the Owner.
c.) Take back the defective goods from the owner and determine within a reasonable time through dialogue with the Seller whether the goods are defective.
d.) Advise the owner within a reasonable time frame whether it accepts or rejects the Product claim.
e.) If the Seller accepts the return of the Product, the Seller must arrange to have
i) The Product repaired or,
ii) Replace the damaged or faulty Product or,
iii) Refund the purchase price.
Note that repairs or replacements may be done with refurbished items or parts, or replaced with a similar item.

The Seller will not accept any returned Product which has not been returned strictly in accordance with this Warranty.

For the purpose of this Warranty:
a.) Australian Consumer Law means the law as set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
b.) Consumer means the Purchaser of goods from the seller.
c.) Consumer means a Consumer as that term is set out in section 3 of the Australian Consumer Law.
d.) Consumer Guarantees means the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. e.) Implied terms means any guarantees, conditions, warranties or other terms implied by any Australian Commonwealth, State or Territory laws, (excluding the Australian Consumer Law) or the law of any other jurisdiction.
f.) Owner has the meaning set out in clause 3.
g.) Warranty means this warranty.
h.) Product means the Product/s bought by the Owner from the Seller that fall under this warranty.
i.) Warranty Period means:
i) In relation to Cast Iron Cookware: 3 Year Limited Warranty.
ii) In relation to Non-Stick Cookware: 3 Year Limited Warranty
iii) In relation to Cooking Utensils: 3 Year Limited Warranty
iv) In relation to Knives/Knife Block Sets: 3 Year Limited Warranty
v) In relation to Stainless Steel Cookware: 10 Year Limited Warranty
vi) In relation to Chopping boards: 1 Year Limited Warranty
vii) In relation to Small Appliances: 1 Year Limited Warranty
