How do I turn on the scale?

Place the scale on a flat, stable surface. To turn on, press the ON/OFF button. The display will show 0.0 or 0.0 g.

How do I switch between weight units?

Press the MODE or UNIT button to cycle through g, kg, lb, oz, ml, and fl.oz. The selected unit will appear on the display.

How do I use the tare function?

Place an empty container on the scale, then press the TARE or ZERO button. The display will reset to 0.00. Add ingredients; the weight shown is net of the container.

What does 'Err' or 'O-Ld' mean?

This indicates the scale is overloaded. Remove excess weight immediately to avoid damage. Do not exceed the maximum capacity of 5 kg (11 lb).

How do I clean the scale?

Wipe the platform and body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water. Dry thoroughly before use.

What batteries does the scale use?

The scale requires 2 x AAA batteries. They are usually included. Replace when the low battery icon appears.

Why is the scale showing an inaccurate weight?

Ensure the scale is on a hard, level surface. Avoid placing it on carpets or uneven floors. Check that the batteries are fresh. Recalibrate by pressing the tare button with no load.

Does the scale auto-off?

Yes, to save battery, the scale will turn off automatically after 2 minutes of inactivity. You can manually turn it off by holding the ON/OFF button.

Can I measure liquids?

Yes, in volume mode, select ml or fl.oz. Note that these are accurate only for water-based liquids. For other liquids, use the weight units (g or lb).

What should I do if the scale does not turn on?

Check that batteries are installed correctly (polarity). Replace with fresh batteries. If the issue persists, the scale may be faulty and should be disposed of responsibly.

11. If the result of the weighing is not displayed correctly on the screen, check to see if the batteries have been put in correctly. If batteries have not been used from extended period of time, please replace them and try the scales again.
12. Clean device after each use using a dry or lightly damp cloth only.

TO INSTALL OR REPLACE BATTERY

1. This product works with 1 x 3V CR2032 lithium battery (included). Remove isolation sheet before use.
2. Open battery case cover at the bottom of scale.
3. Take out the used battery with the aid of a sharp object.
4. Install new battery by putting one side of the battery beneath the battery baffle and then pressing down the other side

UNIT CONVERSION BUTTON

At the bottom of scale, you will find a unit conversion button as shown in the picture below. Press this button to alternate between grams 'g' and pounds 'lb'

MODE: Mode conversion

ZERO: Zero\Tare

UNIT: Convert unit systems of Metric or Imperial. (Conversion button at the bottom of the scale)

MODE CONVERSION

After turning on scale, press MODE button to select mode as shown below:

TO CONVERT WEIGHT UNIT

If the scale is with both unit systems of Metric (g, ml) or Imperial (lb:oz, fl'oz), press MODE button to choose working mode (weight, milk volume, water volume), then press unit conversion button to convert between two systems. Take the conversion of weight unit for example:

1. When setting g as weight unit, the default volume unit is ml;
2. When setting lb:oz as weight unit, the default volume unit is fl'oz.

TARE WEIGHT FUNCTION

1. To weigh different loads consecutively without removing loads from the scale, place first load on the scale to obtain a weight reading.
2. Once the weight from the first load is displayed, press and hold the [ZERO] key briefly. The LCD will display ---- and reset back to zero despite the first load still being present on the weighing platform. You may now weigh the next load.
   This procedure can be completed as often as required until the scales max load capacity (5kg) is reached.
3. Once the loads are removed, the total weight shown on the LCD will be shown as a minus value.

NOTE: If the scales max weight has been exceeded or is unstable, the display will read - - - . To resolve this issue, remove the excess weight from the weighing platform or rebalance the load.

TO START WEIGHING

WEIGHING MODE

1. Place the scales on a firm, level surface.
2. Place bowl (if used) on the scale.
3. Press [ZERO/MODE] key to activate the scales.
4. Wait until LCD shows '0'. Press [ZERO/MODE] button to convert to weight mode.
5. If using a container to weigh items, load the container onto the scale - the LCD will display the weight of the container. Press and hold the [ZERO] button until ---- is displayed on the LCD then release the button. The LCD will display '0'. The scale is now ready to weigh the contents only minus the weight of the container.

VOLUME INDICATION MODE

1. Place the scales on a firm, level surface.
2. Place bowl (if used) on the scale.
3. Press [ZERO/MODE] key to activate the scales.
4. Wait until LCD shows 'O'. Press [ZERO/MODE] button to convert to volume mode.
5. If using a container to weigh items, load the container onto the scale - the LCD will display the weight of the container. Press and hold the [ZERO] button until ---- is displayed on the LCD then release the button. The LCD will display '0'. The scale is now ready to weigh the "volume" contents only minus the weight of the container.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

1. Clean the scale with a slightly damp cloth. DO NOT immerse the scale in water or use chemical/abrasive cleaning agents.
2. All plastic parts should be cleaned immediately after contact with fats, spices, vinegar and strongly flavored/colored foods. Avoid contact with acids citrus juices.
3. Always use the scale on a hard, flat surface. DO NOT use on carpet.

TROUBLESHOOTING

BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE

If the scale fails to operate:

1. Check to make sure the scale is inserted with the correct battery, 1 x 3V CR2032 lithium battery (included).
2. Check the packaging and contents for completeness and damages. Should the contents in the packaging not be complete or damaged, do not use the device. Return it to your retail outlet immediately.

DO NOT TRY TO ADJUST OR REPAIR THE SCALES YOURSELF.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Troubleshoot your problem by using the chart. If the scale still does not operate correctly, it may be defective.

INDICATOR POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE REMEDY
	Batteries need replacing.	If “Lo” message is displayed on the screen, replace new battery.
	Maximum weight has been exceeded.	If “Err” message is displayed on the screen, the maximum weight has been exceeded. Remove the object from the scale immediately to avoid damaging the scale load cell unit.

LIMITED WARRANTY

1. Nothing in this Warranty affects the Consumer's rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The benefits to the Consumer under this Warranty are in addition to the rights and remedies of the buyer under any Consumer Guarantees. The Australian Consumer Law requires that we confirm that:

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

1. Subject to Clause 1, the Seller warrants that Westinghouse branded products will be free of manufacturing defects and will perform to the Seller's specifications subject to the following clauses.

2. The benefit of this Warranty extends only to the owner of the property in which the Products manufactured or supplied by the Seller are installed and used by the owner for the duration of the Warranty Period.

3. The Warranty commences on the date of the purchase of the product and continues for the benefit of the Owner for the Warranty Period. If within the Warranty Period a manufacturing defect is discovered in the Product, or the Product fails to perform to the Seller's specifications as a result of some defect in material or workmanship in the Product, then the Seller will at its own discretion:

a.) Repair or replace the Product at the cost of the Seller, including but not limited to labour and travel costs. Goods repaired or replaced under this Warranty will be warranted for the remaining period of the Warranty.

b.) Refund the purchase price paid by the consumer.

1. The Warranty does not apply to Product that:

a.) Has failed due to excessive wear and tear beyond what is considered to be reasonable.

b.) Has been misused or neglected.

c.) Has been damaged accidentally or by acts of God including fire and flooding.

d.) Has been used or operated contrary to operating or maintenance instructions.

e.) Has been damaged by the Consumer or a third party authorised to act for the consumer in transit from the Sellers store to the Consumer.

1. In order to make a claim under the Warranty, the Owner must, where possible return the goods to the Seller's store at the Owner's cost. Proof of purchase must be supplied in all cases.

2. The seller will examine any returned Products and if the Seller determines that there is an apparent defect through no fault of the Owner, the Seller will:

a.) Make note of the Owner's contact details including the Owner's telephone number which the owner can be contacted during business hours, postal address and e-mail address.

LIMITED WARRANTY

b.) Make note of the defects reported by the Owner.

c.) Take back the defective goods from the owner and determine within a reasonable time through dialogue with the Seller whether the goods are defective.

d.) Advise the owner within a reasonable time frame whether it accepts or rejects the Product claim.

e.) If the Seller accepts the return of the Product, the Seller must arrange to have:

i) The Product repaired or,
ii) Replace the damaged or faulty Product or,
iii) Refund the purchase price.

1. The Seller will not accept any returned Product which has not been returned strictly in accordance with this Warranty.

2. For the purpose of this Warranty:

a.) Australian Consumer Law means the law as set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

b.) Consumer means the Purchaser of goods from the seller.
c.) Consumer means a Consumer as that term is set out in section 3 of the Australian Consumer Law.
d.) Consumer Guarantees means the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
e.) Implied terms means any guarantees, conditions, warranties or other terms implied by any Australian Commonwealth, State or Territory laws, (excluding the Australian Consumer Law) or the law of any other jurisdiction.
f.) Owner has the meaning set out in clause 3.
g.) Warranty means this warranty.

h.) Product means the Product/s bought by the Owner from the Seller that fall under this warranty.

i.) Warranty Period means:

i) In relation to Cast Iron Cookware: 3 Year Limited Warranty
ii) In relation to Non-Stick Cookware: 3 Year Limited Warranty
iii) In relation to Cooking Utensils: 3 Year Limited Warranty
iv) In relation to Knives/Knife Block Sets: 3 Year Limited Warranty
v) In relation to Stainless Steel Cookware: 10 Year Limited Warranty

vi) In relation to Chopping boards: 1 Year Limited Warranty

vii) In relation to Small Appliances: 1 Year Limited Warranty
