Frequently Asked Questions - EH505e OPTOMA

How to connect a computer to the EH505e projector?
Use a VGA cable to connect the computer's output to VGA1 or VGA2 input on the projector. You can also use an HDMI, DVI-D, or DisplayPort cable. Ensure the computer is set to send the signal to the projector (Fn key + display switching key).
How to replace the projector lamp?
Turn off the projector and unplug it for at least one hour. Remove the lamp cover, unscrew the module screws, take out the old lamp, insert the new one by reversing the steps. After replacement, reset the lamp counter via the menu Options > Lamp Settings > Lamp Reset.
The projected image is distorted (keystone), how to correct it?
Use the Keystone V function in the Display menu or the dedicated button on the remote control. Adjust the value between -30 and +30 to straighten the image vertically. Mechanical adjustment of the front feet can also help.
How to activate 3D on the projector?
Ensure the 3D source is connected (HDMI 1.4a). In the Display > 3D menu, select DLP Link or VESA 3D mode according to your glasses. Choose the appropriate 3D format (Auto, SBS, Top-Bottom). Wear compatible 3D glasses.
How to clean the projector lens?
Apply a small amount of optical lens cleaner on a soft, clean cloth (do not apply directly on the lens). Gently wipe the lens in a circular motion. Do not use abrasive products.
The projector does not turn on, what to do?
Check that the power cord is plugged in and the main switch is ON. If the power LED is red, press the POWER button. If the LED blinks, wait for the cooling cycle to finish. Also check the lamp LED (LAMP LED): if it is red, replace the lamp.
How to adjust the height of the projected image?
Use the tilt adjustment foot located at the front of the projector. Turn the screw to raise or lower the front of the projector. For finer adjustments, use the vertical lens shift (menu or side dials).
How to use the remote to control the mouse pointer on a PC?
Connect your PC to the projector via a USB cable (A-B). Press the Mouse Switch button on the remote to activate mouse mode. Use the directional keys to move the cursor and the Enter key to click.
What to do if the message 'Lamp has almost reached the end of its life' appears?
This message indicates that the lamp has less than 30 hours of use left. Order a certified Optoma replacement lamp. You can disable the reminder via Options > Lamp Settings > Lamp Reminder (not recommended). Replace the lamp as soon as possible.
How to reset the lamp counter after replacement?
Go to the menu Options > Lamp Settings > Lamp Reset. Confirm by selecting Yes. The counter resets to zero. This operation is necessary after each lamp change for accurate tracking.
