How do I light the BBQ?

Open the lid, ensure all knobs are OFF, turn on the cylinder valve, push and turn a burner knob to HI. If it doesn't light in 5 seconds, turn OFF, wait 5 minutes, and repeat. Alternatively, use a match with the lighting rod. Keep face and hands away.

How do I check for gas leaks?

Mix one part liquid detergent with one part water to create a soap solution. Apply to all gas connections with a spray bottle or brush while the gas is ON (controls OFF). Bubbles indicate a leak. If found, tighten fittings or replace parts. Never use an open flame to test.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Immediately shut off the gas supply at the cylinder. Extinguish any open flames. Open the lid. If the odour continues, keep away from the appliance and call your gas supplier or fire department.

Can I use this BBQ indoors?

No. This BBQ is for outdoor use only. Using it indoors can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning, which can be fatal. Never use in a garage, porch, shed, or any enclosed area.

What type of gas does the EUG-BR2 use?

It uses LPG (Liquid Propane Gas). It is configured for LPG and must not be used with natural gas. The regulator supplied is suitable for LPG.

How do I clean the burners?

Ensure the BBQ is cool and gas is off. Use compressed air or a wire to clean the burner ports. Wire brush the outside of the burner to remove dirt. Check for spider webs or nests that can cause flash-back.

What is the minimum clearance required?

Keep at least 61 cm clearance from sides and back of the BBQ to combustible construction. Do not use under overhead combustible surfaces. Ensure good ventilation.

How do I store the BBQ when not in use?

Let the BBQ cool completely. Disconnect and remove the LPG cylinder indoors. Store the cylinder outdoors out of reach of children. Place dust cap on the cylinder valve. Store the BBQ in a dry place away from direct sunlight.

Why are my burners producing yellow flames or not lighting properly?

Yellow flames or poor lighting may indicate blocked burner ports from dirt, debris, spider webs, or food residue. Clean the burner tubes and ports thoroughly. Check the air shutter if adjustable. Ensure proper gas flow.

Can I use briquettes on this BBQ?

No. The grill is designed without briquettes. Do not place briquettes on the radiant as they block burner venting and can damage ignition components and knobs, voiding the warranty.

It is vital that you read and understand this user manual before using the product, including safety warnings, and any assembly and operating instructions. Keep the manual for future reference.

Safety precautions and recommendations detailed here must be fully understood and followed to reduce the risk of injury, fire, explosion, electrical hazard, and/or property damage.

Safety information presented here is generic in nature – some advice may not be applicable to every product. The term "equipment" refers to the product, be it electrical mains powered, battery powered or combustion engine powered.

• This equipment is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities.

General Fuel Safety

• Petrol/fuel/gasoline is extremely flammable – keep clear of naked flames or other ignition sources.
• Do not spill fuel. If you spill fuel, wipe it off the equipment immediately – if fuel gets on your clothing, change clothing.
• Do NOT smoke near fuel or when refuelling.
  • Always shut off the engine before refuelling.
• Do NOT refuel a hot engine.
• Open the fuel cap carefully to allow any pressure build-up in the tank to release slowly.
  • Always refuel in well ventilated areas.
• Always check for fuel leakage. If fuel leakage is found, do not start, or run the engine until all leaks are fixed.

General Carbon-Monoxide Safety

• Using a combustion engine indoors CAN KILL IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust contains carbon-monoxide – a poison you cannot smell or see.
• Use combustion engines OUTSIDE only, and far away from windows, doors, and vents.

General Equipment Use and Care

• The equipment is designed for domestic use only.
• Handle the equipment safely and carefully.
• Before use, inspect the equipment for misalignment or binding of moving parts, loose components, damage, or any other condition that may affect its operation. If damaged, have the equipment repaired by an authorised service centre or technician before use.
• Prevent unintentional starting of the equipment - ensure equipment and power switches are in the OFF position before connecting or moving equipment. Do not carry equipment with hands or fingers touching any controls. Remove any tools or other items that are not a part of the equipment from it before starting or switching on.
• Do not force the equipment. Use the correct equipment for your application. Equipment will perform better and be safer when used within its design and usage parameters.
• Use the equipment and accessories etc. in accordance with these instructions, considering working conditions and the work to be performed. Using the equipment for operations different from those intended could result in hazardous situations.
• Always keep equipment components (engines, hoses, handles, controls, frames, housings, guards etc) and accessories (cutting tools, nozzles, bits etc) properly maintained. Keep the equipment clean and, where applicable, properly lubricated.

General Electrical Safety

• Inspect electrical equipment, extension cords, power bars, and electrical fittings for damage or wear before each use. Repair or replace damaged equipment immediately.
• Ensure all power sources conform to equipment voltage requirements and are disconnected before connecting or disconnecting equipment.
• When wiring electrically powered equipment, follow all electrical and safety codes.
• Wherever possible, use a residual current device (RCD).

Care and Maintenance Precautions

• When using the grill, do not touch the grill rack, burner grate or immediate surroundings which become extremely hot during use and can cause burns.
• Avoid allowing excess grease to collect in the grease tray at the bottom of the grill's firebox. Clean the grease tray often. For proper burner lighting and performance, keep the burner ports clean.
• It is necessary to clean them periodically for optimum performance. For safe operation, the burners must be mounted correctly. The burners will only operate in one direction.
• Clean the grill with caution. to avoid steam burns, do not use a wet sponge or cloth when cleaning the grill. Turn off all controls knobs and make sure the grill is cool before cleaning. When using aerosol sprays to clean burners be very careful. Ensure that the equipment is cool before using an aerosol spray, as the presence of heat could cause it to corrode or light the equipment on fire.
• Do not use the grill for cooking excessively fatty meats or products, which can cause flare-ups. Do not operate the grill under unprotected combustible construction. Use only in well ventilated areas. Do not use in buildings, garages, sheds, breezeways, or other such enclosed areas. This unit is for outdoor use only. Caution: beware of flashback
• Caution: spiders and small insects occasionally spin webs or make nests in the grill burner tubes during transit and warehousing. These webs can lead to gas flow obstruction, which could result in a fire in and around burner tubes. This type of fire is known as "flash-back" and can cause serious damage to your grill and create an unsafe operating condition for the user.
• Although an obstructed burner tube is not the only cause of "flash-back", it is the most common cause.
• To reduce the likelihood of "flash-back", you must clean the burner tubes before assembling your grill, and at least once a month in late summer or early fall when spiders are most active. Also perform this burner tube cleaning procedure if your grill has not been used for an extended period. A clogged tube can lead to a fire beneath the grill.

Proper Placement and Clearance of Grill

• Never use your gas grill in a garage, porch, shed, breezeway, or any other enclosed area. Your gas grill is to be used outdoors only.
• DO NOT install this unit into combustible enclosures.
• Minimum clearance from sides and back of unit to combustible construction, 61cm from both sides and 61cm from the back.
• DO NOT use this appliance under overhead combustible surfaces. This outdoors cooking gas appliance is not intended to be installed in or on recreational vehicles and/or boats.
• Do Not obstruct the flow of ventilation air around the gas grill housing. Only use the regulator and the hose assembly supplied with your gas grill. Replacement regulators and hose assemblies must be those specified in this manual.
• The regulator and hose assembly must be inspected before each use of the grill. If there is excessive abrasion or wear or if the hose is cut, it must be replaced prior to the grill being put into operation. The replacement hose assembly shall be that specified by the manufacturer.
• Pressure regulator and hose assembly supplied with the outdoor cooking gas appliance must be used.
• Never substitute other types of regulators. Contact the manufacturer or an authorised service centre for specified replacement parts.
• This outdoor cooking gas appliance is equipped with an AGA standard pressure regulator and hose.
• The grill is designed for optimum performance without the use of briquettes. Do not place briquettes on the radiant as this will block off the area for the grill burners to vent. Adding briquettes can damage ignition components and knobs and void the warranty.
• Keep the back and side cart free and clear from debris. Keep any electrical supply cord or the rotisserie motor cord away from the heated areas of the grill.
• Never use the grill in extremely windy conditions. If located in a consistently windy area (oceanfront, mountaintop, etc.) a windbreak will be required. Always adhere to the specified clearance.
• Never use a dented or rusty propane tank.
• Keep any electrical supply cord and the fuel supply hose away from any heated surface.
• While lighting, keep your face and hands as far away from the grill as possible.
• Burner adjustment should only be performed after the burner has cooled.

• WARNING! If stepping over the hose, it may cause the hazard of tripping over the hose and tipping of the supply cylinder.
• This appliance shall only be used in an above ground open-air situation with natural ventilation, without stagnant areas, where gas leakage and products of combustion are rapidly dispersed by wind and natural convection.
• This appliance must not be used indoors. Do not use your barbecue in garages, porches, sheds, or other enclosed areas. The barbecue is not intended to be installed in or used on recreational vehicles (e.g., boats, camping vans) and should not be placed close to or under any surfaces that will burn or are sensitive to heat. Do not block/obstruct the flow of air and combustion around the barbecue housing while in use.

• Any enclosure in which the appliance is used shall comply with one of the following:

• An enclosure with walls on all sides, but at least one permanent opening at ground level and no overhead cover.

• Within a partial enclosure that includes an overhead cover and no more than two walls.
• Within a partial enclosure that includes an overhead cover and more than two walls, the following shall apply:

- At least 25% of the total wall area is completely open; and

- At least 30% of the remaining wall area is open and unrestricted.

- In the case of balconies, at least 20% of the total of the side, back and front wall areas shall be and remain open and unrestricted.

WARNING!

• Always operate the grill on a tabletop, no higher than 81cm.
- Place the propane tank on the ground immediately adjacent to the tabletop, no further than 61cm from the grill.
- Failure to follow these instructions could cause the propane tank to overheat and vent propane which could ignite causing serious personal juries or property damage and/or a tripping hazard over the gas hose or propane tank, pulling the grill off the tabletop causing serious personal injuries or property damage.

Using an engine or wood/charcoal/gas fuelled appliance indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES.

Engine exhaust and wood/charcoal/gas fumes contain carbon monoxide. This is a poison you cannot see or smell.

NEVER use inside a building, home, garage, boat, caravan or tent EVEN IF doors and windows are open.

Only use OUTSIDE and far away from windows, doors, and vents.

• The output of this generator is potentially lethal. The generator should not be connected to a fixed electrical installation except by an appropriately licensed person.

Assembly

Injector Markings

The marking of injectors as diagram is the injector size.

Regulator and Hose Assembly

• After the assembly has been secured, turn ON the gas and check for leaks. See the Checking for Gas Leaks section. Make certain this procedure is carried out in a well-ventilated area and never in the presence of a flame, spark, or a heat source.
  • Never use a dented or rusty LP tank.
• Normally, it's necessary to change the regulator hose every 4 years.

Preparation

• Before beginning assembly, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package contents list and diagram above. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product.
• Contact the manufacturer for replacement parts.
• Tools Required for Assembly: Phillips Screwdriver (not included) and wrench (not included).

NOTE: The right and left sides of the grill are designated as if you are facing the front of the grill.

BBQ Assembly

1. Install the grease tray underneath the BBQ, as shown.

1. Install the flame tamer onto the burner, then put the grid on the BBQ, as shown.

Tank Installation

• Check the hose that came attached to the barbeque, make sure that it has a rubber seal on the regulator end of it, and connect this end of the hose to the gas cylinder.
• You won't need a spanner here. Just turn the fitting in an anti-clockwise direction and hand0tighten as much as you can. This should seal it sufficiently.
• The regulator as supplied should be firmly tightened, but care must be taken not to over-tighten the connections.
  • The regulator as supplied is the correct regulator for this item.
• If the outdoor cooking appliance is not in use, the gas must be turned "OFF" at the Liquid Propane Cylinder.
• If the outdoor cooking gas appliance is not in use, the gas must be turned off at the supply cylinders.
• Storage of an outdoor cooking gas appliance indoor is permissible only if the cylinder(s) is/are disconnected and removed from the outdoor cooking gas appliance.
• Cylinder(s) must be stored outdoor out of the reach of children and must not be stored in a building, garage or any other enclosed area.
• Cylinder(s) used must include a collar to protect the cylinder valve.

Note: The minimum LP Gas cylinder capacity Should be 9KGS. Always keep the cylinder at 90° (upright) orientation to provide adequate vapour withdrawal. Keep the fuel supply hose away

from any heated surface(s).

- Place dust cap on cylinder valve outlet whenever the cylinder is not in use. Only install the type of dust cap on the cylinder valve outlet that is provided with the cylinder valve. Other types of cap or plugs may result in leakage of propane.

Gas Installation

• Only the pressure regulator and hose assembly suitable for the grill should be used. Any replacement pressure regulator and hose assembly must be specified by the grill manufacturer.
• This grill is configured for LPG. Do not use a Natural Gas supply. Total gas consumption (per hour) with all burners set on HI.

Operation

Warning: This product may heat surfaces around it. Heat may be projected in any direction. Keep away from any surface that could be affected by heat.

Checking for Gas Leaks

General

• Although all gas connections on the grill are leak-tested at the factory prior to shipment, a complete gas tightness check must be performed at the installation site due to possible mishandling in shipment, or excessive pressure unknowingly being applied to the unit.
  • Periodically check the whole system for leaks following the procedures listed below.
  • If the smell of gas is detected at any time, you should immediately check the entire system for leaks.

Before Testing

• Make sure that all packing material is removed from the grill, including the burner tie-down straps.

DO NOT SMOKE WHILE LEAK-TESTING. NEVER PERFORM LEAK TEST WITH AN OPEN FLAME.

- Make a soap solution of one part liquid detergent and one part water. You will need a spray bottle, brush, or rag to apply the solution to the fittings. For the initial leak test, make sure the LP cylinder is full.

To Test

1. Make sure the control valves are in the OFF position, and then turn ON the gas supply.
2. Check all connections from the LP gas regulator and supply valve up to and including the connection to the manifold pipe assembly (the pipe that goes to the burners). Soap bubbles will appear where a leak is present.
3. If a leak is present, immediately turn OFF the gas supply and tighten the leaky fittings.
4. Turn the gas back ON and recheck.
5. Should the gas continue to leak from any of the fittings, turn OFF the gas supply.

ONLY THOSE PARTS RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE USED ON THE GRILL. SUBSTITUTION WILL VOID THE WARRANTY. DO NOT USE THE GRILL UNTIL ALL ECTIONS HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND DO NOT LEAK.

Gas Flow Check

• Each grill burner is tested and adjusted at the factory prior to shipment; however, variations in the local gas supply may make it necessary to adjust the burners.
  • The flames of the burners should be visually checked.

• Flames should be blue and stable with no yellow tips, excessive noise or lifting.

• If any of these conditions exist, check to see if the air shutter or burner ports are blocked by dirt, debris, spider webs, etc.

ALWAYS CHECK FOR LEAKS AFTER EVERY LP TANK CHANGE. Check all gas supply fittings for leaks before each use. It is handy to keep a spray bottle of soapy water near the shut-off of the gas supply line. Spray all the fittings. Bubbles indicate leaks.

Lighting Instructions

Before Lighting

• Inspect the gas supply hose prior to turning on the gas. If there is evidence of cuts, wear, or abrasion, it must be replaced prior to use.
• Connect the hose onto the cylinder and check the hose and regulator connections before operating the grill.
• Only the pressure regulator and hose assembly supplied with the unit should be used. Never substitute regulators. If a replacement is necessary, contact customer service for proper replacement.

WARNING! Do not use the grill if the odour of gas is present.

1. Read the safety instructions before lighting.
2. Open the lid during lighting and make sure all knobs are in the OFF position.
3. Turn ON the cylinder valve.
4. Push and turn burner knob slowly to HI, then release the knob.
5. If ignition does not occur in 5 seconds, turn the burner control(s) OFF, wait 5 minutes, and repeat the lighting procedure.

Lighting the BBQ with a Match

• If a burner will not light after several attempts using the control knobs, the burners may be lit with a match.
• The cylinder supply system must be arranged for adequate vapour withdrawal.
• WARNING! When lighting, keep your face and hands as far away from the grill as possible.
- WARNING! Before lighting, please check the connection with the proper procedure. If there's a leak, turn the gas OFF.
- WARNING! The appliance will be hot during and after use. Use insulated oven mitts or gloves for protection from hot surfaces or splatter from cooking liquids.
• CAUTION! When using a match to light the grill, make sure to use the attached lighting rod.
• CAUTION! Remove the cooking grids when using a match to light the grill.
• If the burner gets accidentally extinguished, turn the control knobs OFF, and repeat the lighting procedure.

Lighting the BBQ

1. If you have already attempted to light the main burner with the igniter, allow 5 minutes for any accumulated gas to dissipate.
2. Insert a match into the lighting rod. Ignite the match and insert through the cooking grids to the burner.
3. If the burner does not light within seconds, turn the knob to the OFF position, wait for 5 minutes, then try again.

WARNING! Do not store a spare LP-Gas cylinder under or near the appliance. Never fill the cylinder beyond 80%. If the information in above warning is not followed exactly, a fire causing or serious injury may occur.

Maintenance

ATTENTION: Surface corrosion will occur on metal surfaces over time and the rate of oxidation depends on factors such as proximity to the ocean and humidity or condensation of water on metal surfaces. To mitigate this, WD40 can be used to remove surface corrosion then, when periodically, it will prevent rust from forming.

It is recommended that, at the commencement of each barbecue season, the following maintenance should be conducted.

Burner

• Clean thoroughly with compressed air or a length of wire, if possible.
  • Wire brush the outside of the burner to remove any dirt.

Grease Tray

- Ensure to remove all dirt/grease accumulation.

Gas Supply

• Inspect the gas supply hose for any damage/deterioration and replace it, if necessary.
• Check all connections for gas soundness.

Gas Cylinder

- Please check the gas cylinder regularly to make sure it is still within the validity period.
