It is vital that you read and understand this user manual before using the product, including safety warnings, and any assembly and operating instructions. Keep the manual for future reference.
Safety precautions and recommendations detailed here must be fully understood and followed to reduce the risk of injury, fire, explosion, electrical hazard, and/or property damage.
Safety information presented here is generic in nature – some advice may not be applicable to every product. The term "equipment" refers to the product, be it electrical mains powered, battery powered or combustion engine powered.
- Before Use - If you are not familiar with the safe operation/handling of the equipment or are in any way unsure of any aspect of suitability or correct use for your application, you should complete training conducted by a person or organization qualified in safe use and operation of this equipment, including fuel/electrical handling and safety.
- Do NOT operate the equipment in flammable or explosive environments, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. The equipment may create sparks or heat that may ignite flammable substances.
- Keep clear of moving parts.
- Equipment may be a potential source of electric shock or injury if misused.
- Do NOT operate the equipment if it is damaged, malfunctioning or is in an excessively worn state.
- Do NOT allow others to use the equipment unless they have read this manual and are adequately trained.
- Keep packaging away from children - risk of suffocation! Operators must use the equipment correctly. When using the equipment, consider conditions and pay due care to persons and property.
General Work Area Safety
• Work areas should be clean and well it.
- Do not operate the equipment if bystanders, animals etc are within operating range of the equipment or the general work area.
- If devices are provided for connecting dust extraction / collection facilities, ensure these are connected and used properly. Dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

General Personal Safety
- Wear appropriate protective equipment when operating, servicing, or when in the operating area of the equipment to help protect from eye and ear injury, poisoning, burns, cutting and crush injuries. Protective equipment such as safety goggles, respirators, non-slip safety footwear, hard hat, hearing protection etc should be used for appropriate equipment / conditions. Other people nearby should also wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, which can be caught in moving parts. Keep hair and clothing away from the equipment.
- Stay alert and use common sense when operating the equipment. Do not overreach. Always maintain secure footing and balance.
- Do not use the equipment if tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
- This equipment is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities.
General Fuel Safety
- Petrol/fuel/gasoline is extremely flammable – keep clear of naked flames or other ignition sources.
- Do not spill fuel. If you spill fuel, wipe it off the equipment immediately – if fuel gets on your clothing, change clothing.
- Do NOT smoke near fuel or when refuelling.
• Always shut off the engine before refuelling. - Do NOT refuel a hot engine.
- Open the fuel cap carefully to allow any pressure build-up in the tank to release slowly.
• Always refuel in well ventilated areas. - Always check for fuel leakage. If fuel leakage is found, do not start, or run the engine until all leaks are fixed.
General Carbon-Monoxide Safety
- Using a combustion engine indoors CAN KILL IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust contains carbon-monoxide – a poison you cannot smell or see.
- Use combustion engines OUTSIDE only, and far away from windows, doors, and vents.
General Equipment Use and Care
- The equipment is designed for domestic use only.
- Handle the equipment safely and carefully.
- Before use, inspect the equipment for misalignment or binding of moving parts, loose components, damage, or any other condition that may affect its operation. If damaged, have the equipment repaired by an authorised service centre or technician before use.
- Prevent unintentional starting of the equipment - ensure equipment and power switches are in the OFF position before connecting or moving equipment. Do not carry equipment with hands or fingers touching any controls. Remove any tools or other items that are not a part of the equipment from it before starting or switching on.
- Do not force the equipment. Use the correct equipment for your application. Equipment will perform better and be safer when used within its design and usage parameters.
- Use the equipment and accessories etc. in accordance with these instructions, considering working conditions and the work to be performed. Using the equipment for operations different from those intended could result in hazardous situations.
- Always keep equipment components (engines, hoses, handles, controls, frames, housings, guards etc) and accessories (cutting tools, nozzles, bits etc) properly maintained. Keep the equipment clean and, where applicable, properly lubricated.
- Store the equipment out of reach of children or untrained persons. To avoid burns or fire hazards, let the equipment cool completely before transporting or storing. Never place or store the equipment near flammable materials, combustible gases, or liquids etc.
- The equipment is not weather-proof, and should not be stored in direct sunlight, at high ambient temperatures or locations that are damp or humid.
- Do not clean equipment with solvents, flammable liquids, or harsh abrasives.

General Electrical Safety
- Inspect electrical equipment, extension cords, power bars, and electrical fittings for damage or wear before each use. Repair or replace damaged equipment immediately.
- Ensure all power sources conform to equipment voltage requirements and are disconnected before connecting or disconnecting equipment.
- When wiring electrically powered equipment, follow all electrical and safety codes.
- Wherever possible, use a residual current device (RCD).
- High voltage / high current power lines may be present. Use extreme caution to avoid contact or interference with power lines. Electrical shock can be fatal.
General Electrical Safety
• Electrically grounded equipment must have an approved cord and plug and be connected to a grounded electrical outlet.
- Do NOT bypass the ON/OFF switch and operate equipment by connecting and disconnecting the electrical cord.
- Do NOT use equipment that has exposed wiring, damaged switches, covers or guards.
- Do NOT use electrical equipment in wet conditions or in damp locations.
- Do NOT use electrical cords to lift, move or carry equipment.
- Do NOT coil or knot electrical cords, and ensure electrical cords are not trip hazards.
General Service Information
- The equipment must be serviced or repaired at authorised service centres by qualified personnel only.
- Replacement parts must be original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to ensure equipment safety is maintained.
- Do NOT attempt any maintenance or repair work not described in this manual.
- After use, the equipment and components may still be hot – allow the equipment to cool and disconnect spark plugs and/or electrical power sources and/or batteries from it before adjusting, changing accessories, or performing repair or maintenance.
- Do NOT adjust while the equipment is running.
- Perform service-related activities in suitable conditions, such as a workshop.
- Replace worn, damaged or missing warning/safety labels immediately.
Pizza Oven Safety
- Read and understand instructions prior to assembly and use.
- Place the Outdoor Oven on a non-combustible surface before use.
• Always use cooking utensils (peels, brushes, and cookware) suitable for wood-fired cooking. - The outdoor oven must be installed on a secure level base prior to use.
- It is recommended that the oven should be heated up first and the fuel should be kept red hot for at least 30 minutes prior to the first cooking.
- DO NOT OVERHEAT OVEN: Extreme heat can permanently damage the Outdoor Oven. Bring the Outdoor Oven up to temperature slowly. Start with a small fire in the centre. Once established, move the fire to the LEFT side of the oven. Add small amounts of wood until the Outdoor Oven reaches even, high heat. A good temperature for pizza baking is when the Cooking Stone is 326°C (620°F) to 343°C (650°F).
- NEVER USE CHEMICAL FUEL STARTERS: Only use small kindling and newspaper to help start your fire. Starting fluids and other fire starters can foul the cooking surface and permanently damage the Outdoor Oven. Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.
- NEVER USE CHEMICAL CLEANERS: Only clean a cool oven. Only use a metal bristle brush or a damp cloth to clean the cooking stone.
- WARNING! DO NOT USE SPIRIT OR PETROL FOR LIGHTING OR RE-LIGHTING!
• WARNING! KEEP CHILDREN AND PETS AWAY - WARNING! THIS OVEN WILL BECOME VERY HOT, DO NOT MOVE IT DURING OPERATION. USE ONLY FIRELIGHTERS THAT COMPLIES WITH EN 1860-3!
• WARNING! DO NOT USE INDOORS! - DO NOT USE THE OVEN IN A CONFINED AND/OR HABITABLE SPACE E.G. HOUSES, TENTS, CARAVANS, MOTOR HOMES, BOATS. DANGER OF CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING FATALITY!
DANGER
Using an engine or wood/charcoal/gas fuelled appliance indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust and wood/charcoal/gas fumes contain carbon monoxide. This is a poison you cannot see or smell.

NEVER use inside a building, home, garage, boat, caravan or tent EVEN IF doors and windows are open.

GENERAL:
- Do not operate in a hazardous location. Such areas include where there is a risk of explosion of petrol fumes, leaking gas or explosive dusts.
- Do not operate in a confined area where exhaust gases or wood/charcoal/gas fumes could reach dangerous concentrations.
PRODUCTS FEATURING AN ENGINE
- Follow all warnings in the section titled "GENERAL".
- Explosion hazard - never smoke while refuelling.
- Take care not to spill fuel. When refuelling the engine, ensure that the engine has been allowed to cool. Prevent spilling of fuel as this may also ignite with a hot engine.
- Never refuel while engine is running.
GENERATORS
- Follow all warnings in the sections titled "GENERAL" and "PRODUCTS FEATURING AN ENGINE".
- The output of this generator is potentially lethal. The generator should not be connected to a fixed electrical installation except by an appropriately licensed person.
- Not weatherproof – protect your machine. This machine is not weatherproof and should not be exposed to direct sunlight, high ambient temperature, damp conditions, wet conditions or high humidity conditions.

WARNING! This product may heat surfaces around it. Heat may be projected in any direction. Keep away from any surface that could be affected by heat.
Getting Started
- Carefully unpack your Outdoor Oven. It's best if two people lift it out of the box.
- Be sure to place the Outdoor Oven on a non-combustible stand, such as a kitchen wood box/stand kit with a granite top.
- Remove all the protective film and discard them.
- Assemble the pizza oven according to the instructions above.
Hint: Season the Outdoor Oven prior to use. Burn two or more times, allow the thermometer to reach 340irc C ( 650irc F) and let the fire die out.
The Art and Science of Wood-Fired Cooking
Cooking in your Outdoor Oven is much like using the oven in your home. You will quickly learn how to regulate the temperature, use different woods for flavour, and be amazed at how good the food tastes.
Anyone can bake delicious pizza and bread, roast meat and vegetables, grill fish and seafood, and create mouth-watering desserts.
The Cooking Stone and Dome of your Outdoor Oven give off radiant heat from all sides, creating a natural convection that bakes everything to perfection, while the fire on the side brings out a unique crisp and smoky taste. Any variety of oven-safe metal, ceramic or glass pan can be used to cook in your Outdoor Oven.

WARNING! Keep ovenware away from flame and don't use in temperatures over 340°C (650°F). Always read and follow ovenware manufacturers usage instructions.
Choosing Your Wood
Use only dry hardwood such as oak and beech. Avoid resinous wood such as pine or spruce. Never use treated lumber. If the wood produces a lot of black smoke, it is generally an indication you are using the wrong type of wood.
Firing Up Your Oven
Your Outdoor Oven will bring years of enjoyment and countless delicious dishes once you have mastered the art of building and maintaining a fire that creates an evenly distributed, high-temperature cooking stone.
Hint: you can invest in a laser thermometer to show you the exact temperature inside your Outdoor Oven.
- Start the fire in the Outdoor Oven approximately one hour before cooking.
- Split wood into small pieces about 10" long by 1/2" thick.
- The maximum loading is 3.5KG. Using kindling and newspaper, start a match lit fire in the center of the Cooking Stone.

Continue to feed the fire with two or three larger pieces until it becomes well established.

At this point, put the fire to the left side of the Outdoor Oven using the ash sweeper.
Hint: It doesn't take much wood to bring the Oven to 340°C (650°F) on the thermometer.
- Close the Outdoor Oven door, vented enough to keep the flame burning, and continue to add wood as needed.
- The flame will reach the top of the dome and curve around to the other side; this is normal, just make sure the flames don't come out of the Outdoor Oven opening. The goal is for the Cooking Stone and Dome to absorb the heat.
- Once the thermometer reaches between 326 – 340°C (620 – 650°F), you are ready to start cooking.
Get Cooking
High Temperature Cooking
When the Oven Stone is between 26 – 340°C (620 – 650°F), you are at a perfect temperature to cook pizza. Pizzas are placed with the 11.5" Square Peel on the Cooking Stone and take less than 3 minutes. Remember to rotate the pizza, with the 8.5"Round Peel, to ensure even cooking.
Hint: A great trick to check if your pizza crust is fully baked, is to lift your pizza (while cooking) with the 8.5" Round Peel. If the pizza folds over the sides of the peel, the crust is not fully cooked.
Medium Temperature Cooking
When the Cooking Stone is between 232 – 315°C (450 – 600°F), you are at a good temperature to roast meat, vegetables, fish, and seafood. Depending on the dish, you may want to cover it initially to allow it to cook fully before removing the cover for browning. You will also want to rotate the pans and roasts, alternating the side facing the fire.
Low Temperature Cooking
When the Cooking Stone is between 162 – 218°C (325 – 425°F), you are at a good temperature for baking breads, pies, and desserts. Generally, this is easiest to do after all of your cooking is complete, and by removing all the embers from the Outdoor Oven. Keep in mind that the Outdoor Oven will have to be pre-heated well in order to retain enough heat for cooking without fire. Ensure that the Cooking Stone is 260°C (500°F) or higher for at least 15 minutes before removing all the embers.
Hint: Always wear barbecue mitts when cooking or adjusting the vents as well as when using a chimney starter. When preparing food, adjusting the vents, placing wood, and using the thermometer or lid, always wear barbecue mitts. Please use grill gloves (heat protected), the grill gloves must be in accordance with the directive 89/686/EEC (for example: performance level 2 for resistant for contact heat, in accordance to DIN EN 407).
Usage Tips & Recommendations
- DO NOT BUILD TOO BIG OF A FIRE IN YOUR PIZZA OVEN! Always start with a small fire and gradually add small-medium pieces of firewood so you can get better control over the temperature within the oven. Do not use large pieces of firewood – smaller pieces work best. On your first use, you will most likely be surprised at how hot the oven can get and how little firewood you actually require. We recommend starting with just two small-medium pieces of firewood (once the kindling has been lit) and then adding to the fire as required. Having a fire that is too big can lead to temperatures well over 500 deg C. This will damage your pizza oven as the excessive amounts of heat can leave burn marks on the front of the pizza oven and potentially warp the inner chamber.
- Once you have got the pizza oven to the desired temperature (typically around 350 to 450ircC , we recommend spreading the coals over the pizza oven floor for about 5 minutes with the stainless-steel door open just slightly ajar to provide some oxygen within the chamber. Then use the brush and shovel to move all of the coals into a corner, where you should keep them while cooking. This will help the pizza oven to hold heat for longer and provide a more consistent temperature. Using an infrared thermometer to test the temperature of the bricks in the pizza oven is the best way to know when you are at the perfect temperature.
- Do not allow water to get into the pizza oven chamber when not in use and only use good quality firewood when cooking. Never burn green or wet firewood and never use treated firewood.
- Be very careful to not touch any part of the pizza oven when in use, as all parts will be extremely hot and will burn. The pizza oven will hold lots of heat for up to 12 hours after usage so be very careful touching the oven, even the next day.
- You shouldn't need to clean the pizza oven after use, as the extreme heat within the chamber will burn away any food spills and fats.
Maintenance

ATTENTION: Surface corrosion will occur on metal surfaces over time and the rate of oxidation depends on factors such as proximity to the ocean and humidity or condensation of water on metal surfaces. To mitigate this, WD40 can be used to remove surface corrosion then, when periodically, it will prevent rust from forming.
Cleaning the Oven
- Once the Outdoor Oven has sufficiently cooled down, use the 11.5" Square Peel and the Ash Sweep to brush the Cooking Stone to remove all the ash and debris.
• Never extinguish the fire with water.
• Never use chemical cleaners.
• If you wish to clean the surface of your Cooking Stone, a damp cloth works best.
