Frequently Asked Questions - FMK542 American International

How do I assemble the fan?
Refer to the assembly diagram in the manual. Typically, attach the base to the stand, then mount the motor housing, and finally attach the front grill and blades. Ensure all screws are tightened.
How to clean the fan blades?
Unplug the fan, remove the front grill, and wipe the blades with a soft damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse any part in water.
The fan is not oscillating. What should I do?
Check if the oscillation button is pressed. If still not working, the gear may be jammed. Turn off the fan and manually rotate the fan head to free it. If problem persists, contact support.
Can I use an extension cord?
Yes, but use a heavy-duty extension cord rated for at least 10 amps. Avoid using multiple devices on the same cord to prevent overheating.
What is the warranty period?
The FMK542 comes with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Retain your purchase receipt for warranty service.
How do I set the timer?
Press the timer button repeatedly to select hours (1-8). The display will show the selected time. The fan will automatically turn off after the set period.
Is the fan safe to leave unattended?
Yes, the fan has overheat protection and a tip-over switch that cuts power if knocked over. However, always unplug when not in use for extended periods.
Can I replace the remote control battery?
Yes, the remote uses a CR2032 coin cell battery. Slide open the battery compartment, replace the battery, and close it securely.
Why is the fan making a rattling noise?
Check if the blades are properly aligned or if there is debris inside. Tighten any loose screws. If noise persists, contact customer service.
Does the fan have a warranty?
Yes, a 1-year limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear and tear are not included.
