Does this kit support double DIN radios?

Yes, the GMK422 supports both single DIN and double DIN radios. For double DIN, follow the separate instructions in the manual (Figure E).

What tools are needed for installation?

You will need a Phillips screwdriver, a panel removal tool (or flathead screwdriver with cloth), and a 10mm socket for some vehicles. Optional: wire crimpers and electrical tape.

How do I remove the factory radio?

Remove trim bezel (carefully unclip), then unscrew the mounting bolts (usually 4 Philips or 10mm). Slide radio out, disconnect wire harness and antenna lead.

Are there special instructions for Cadillac Fleetwood/Brougham?

Yes, for 1990-1996 Cadillac Fleetwood/Brougham, see page 6 of the manual. You must reuse the factory top and bottom brackets and attach them to the kit using carriage bolts.

How do I attach the mounting brackets?

First, remove mounting tabs as per vehicle. Attach side brackets to radio using screws supplied with kit or radio. Then attach trim ring to brackets before tightening radio mounting brackets.

Can I use this kit with an existing ISO mount radio?

Yes, the kit includes ISO mounting brackets. Remove all tabs on side brackets and (4) side tabs on ISO trim ring, then attach ISO brackets to radio and trim ring.

What if my vehicle is not listed in the manual?

The manual covers most 1995-2009 GM vehicles. If yours is not listed, the universal ISO mounting instructions may work, but verify fitment or contact customer support.

Is the trim ring paintable?

The trim ring is made of plastic and can be painted with automotive spray paint after light sanding, but ensure paint is compatible with plastic.

1. Starting from the bottom of the Radiotrim bezel, carefully pray outward on the dash trim bezeltounclipthelower edge and sides.
2. Anglethedashtrimbezeloutwardfromthebottomandpullthetopofthe paneldowntounfastenthetwouppertabs.
3. Pullthetrimbezelforwardanddisconnectallharnessesattachedtothe panelandremovepanel.
4. Removetheharnessclampattachedattherearoftheleftfactoryradiobracket.
   5.Removethe(4)10mmboltssecuringthefactoryradiotothesub-dash.
5. Pullradioforward, disconnectthewireharnessandantennaleadandremoveradio.
