Avoid contacting hot areas of this unit.

• Use caution around the muffler, cylinder, and other engine parts as they can be extremely hot.
- Allow hot components to cool before touching.

TRANSPORTING & STORAGE

When transporting generator:

  • Do not overfill the tank (there should be no fuel in the filler neck).
  • Do not operate the generator while it is on a vehicle. Take the generator off the vehicle and use it in a well ventilated place.
  • Avoid direct sunlight when transporting the generator on a vehicle. If the generator is left in an enclosed vehicle for many hours, high temperatures inside the vehicle could cause fuel to vaporize, resulting in a possible explosion.
  • Do not drive on a rough road for an extended period with the generator on board. If you must transport the generator on a rough road, drain the fuel from the generator beforehand.
  • Take care not to drop or strike the generator when transporting. Do not place heavy objects on the generator.

Before storing the unit for an extended period:

  1. Be sure the storage area is free of excessive humidity and dust.
  2. Completely drain the fuel from the tank. Open the OFF/RUN/CHOKE switch, start the engine and operate it in the idle position until all remaining fuel is gone and the engine stops automatically.
  3. Discharge oil (see steps 1-3 of "Changing the oil").
