How do I set the humidity level on the Swan SH16810N dehumidifier?

Press the Humidity button, then use the △ or ▽ buttons to select a humidity level between 40% and 80% in 5% increments. The display will flash while adjusting. Stop pressing for 5 seconds to confirm.

What does the digital display show?

When plugged in, it shows room humidity. While setting humidity, it shows the selected value. During timer programming, it shows hours. If humidity is below 35%, it displays '35'; above 95%, it displays '95'.

How do I use the timer function?

To set start time (when unit is off): press ⏻, then △ or ▽ to choose 1-24 hours. To set run time (when unit is on): press ⏻, then △ or ▽ to select how long it runs before switching off (1-24 hours).

Why is my dehumidifier not operating?

Check if the power cord is connected. If the tank full indicator is blinking, empty and refit the tank correctly. Ensure room temperature is between 5°C and 35°C; outside this range the unit will not operate.

How do I clean the air filter?

Open the inlet grille and remove the filter. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust, or wash with warm water and mild cleanser if very dirty. Dry thoroughly before refitting.

How do I empty the water tank?

Lightly press the sides of the tank with both hands and pull it out. Discard the water. If dirty, wash with cold or lukewarm water (no detergents or solvents). Replace tank firmly until it clicks; otherwise the tank full sensor may activate.

How do I set up continuous drainage?

Use a plastic pipe with 10mm inner diameter (not supplied). Insert it into the drain hole on the intermediate plate, and route the other end to a permanent drain. Ensure the pipe is downhill for continuous flow.

What refrigerant gas does the dehumidifier use and is it safe?

It uses R290 (isopropane), a flammable but low pollutant gas. The appliance is filled with 80g. Handle with care: avoid damaging the refrigerant circuit during transport and installation. Keep away from ignition sources and store in rooms larger than 4 m².

How should I store the dehumidifier when not in use?

Clean the filter and water tank thoroughly, ensuring no water remains inside. Unplug the unit and store it in its original packaging in a dry place.

The dehumidification capacity is rated at a room temperature of 30C with a relative humidity of 80%. The operational temperature is in the range of 5 - 35C and max relative humidity of 80%. If the room temperature is outside of this range, the unit will not operate normally.

Low Temperature Operation with Automatic Defrost

When the unit is running in a room temp. between 5 - 12C, it will be stop to defrost for every 30 minutes. When the unit is running in a room temp between 12 - 20C, it will be stop to defrost for every 45 minutes

OPERATION

The Digital display has numerous functions:

1. When the unit is plugged in, it will indicate the room humidity level.
2. When you set the humidity, it will indicate the humidity that you have selected
3. When you program the time for the unit to turn on and off, it will show the hours.
4. When the room humidity is lower than 35%, it will show "35"
5. When the room humidity is higher than 95%, it will show "95"

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The buzzer will sound several times when the unit is powered on. The LED will show the room humidity for 3 seconds, then it will automatically turn off.

1. Turn on/off, press:

1. Humidity setting, press: 🧑 Then press: △ or ▽ to select humidity level. 40% to 80%, in 5%, increments. The LED display will flash when adjusting. Stop pressing for 5 seconds, it will return to normal display. The default value of humidity is 55%.

2. Fan speed setting, press: ☐ Press repeatedly to cycle through the fan speeds. The corresponding LED light will illuminate.

3. Swing setting, press: After the machine has started the louvres will swing back and forth. Press again to stop.

4. Timer setting, press: ⏻ when the unit is stopped, then press △ or ▽ to set start time. Start time range is between 1 - 24 hours.

To set run time: With machine running press ⏻ then press △ or ▽ to set how long the unit will run for before it switches itself off. Run time range is 1 - 24 hours.

Please note: if the tank gets full during the selected run time, the unit will stop, a buzzer will sound and the tank full indicator will illuminate.

OPERATION

Emptying the Drainage Tank

1. Lightly press on the sides of the tank with both hands and pull the tank out gently.

2. Discard the collected water.

1. If the drainage tank is dirty, wash it with cold or lukewarm water. Do not use detergent, scouring pads, chemically treated dust cloths, gasoline, benzene, thinner, or other solvents, as these can scratch and damage the tank and cause water leakage

2. When replacing the drainage tank, press the tank firmly into place with both hands. If the tank is not positioned properly, the "TANK FULL" sensor will be activated, and the dehumidifier will not operate.

OPERATION

Continuous Water Drainage

The unit features a continuous drainage port. Using a plastic pipe not included (inner diameter of 10mm) inserts into the drain hole (on intermediate plate), site the other end of the pipe to a permanent drain.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Always unplug the appliance and keep it away from any socket before cleaning.

• To clean the outer surface of the appliance, use a lightly damp cloth. Then, dry it thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth before using again.
• Do not use any cleaning or chemical products of any kind. Do not let water enter the openings on the dehumidifier.
• When the appliance is not being used for prolonged periods, ensure that the filter and water tank is cleaned well. Don't allow water to sit in the appliance for long periods!
• Unplug from the socket and store in its packaging.

To clean the air filter:

• Open the inlet grille first and remove the air filter.
• Run a vacuum cleaner lightly over the surface of the air filter to remove dirt. If the air filter is exceptionally dirty, wash it with warm water and a mild cleanser and dry thoroughly.

To re-fit, offer the filter up to the front of the humidifier and fit the grille over it. Then snap into place.
