Frequently Asked Questions - PJ WX2440 RICOH

How do I connect my laptop to the Ricoh PJ WX2440 projector?
Use an HDMI cable or the supplied RGB cable. For HDMI, connect to the HDMI 1 In or HDMI 2/MHL In port. For VGA, connect to the Computer In (D-sub 15) port. Ensure the projector is powered on and select the correct input source via the Input button.
How can I adjust the projected image size and focus?
Use the zoom lever on top of the projector to zoom in/out, and rotate the focus ring to sharpen the image. The projector must be at a distance of 1.1 m to 10 m for a 30" to 300" image.
What should I do when the lamp replacement warning appears?
The warning indicates the lamp is near end of life. Replace it with Replacement Lamp Type 27. Turn off the projector, unplug, wait at least 60 minutes for cooling. Remove the lamp cover screw, slide the cover, remove the lamp module screw, carefully lift out the old lamp, install the new one, and reverse steps.
What do the indicator lights on the control panel mean?
Power indicator: red in standby, blue when on, flashing blue during warm-up, flashing red during cool-down. Lamp indicator: red indicates lamp error or end of life. Temp indicator: red indicates overheating or fan failure. See manual page 61 for details.
How do I enable 3D mode on this projector?
Connect a 3D source via HDMI. The projector automatically detects Blu-ray 3D. For other formats, go to 3D menu in OSD and select appropriate 3D Format (Auto, Side-by-Side, Top-and-Bottom). You may need to adjust 3D Sync Invert if image appears reversed.
Can I use the projector at high altitudes?
Yes. Press Menu, go to OPTIONS > High Altitude and set to On when operating above 2500 ft (750 m). This increases fan speed to prevent overheating.
How do I clean or replace the air filter?
The filter is optional and sold separately. To clean, turn off projector and unplug. Remove the filter cover (if installed), clean with a vacuum or replace with a new RICOH 1PJ Replacement Air Filter Type 6. Reset the filter timer in OPTIONS > Filter Settings after replacement.
How can I set a password to prevent unauthorized use?
Go to SETTING > Security in OSD. Set Security to On, then Change Password. The default password is 123456. Enter a new password. The projector will request the password each time it is turned on.
Why is the image flickering or not displaying correctly?
Press the Auto button on the remote to auto-sync. If still flickering, adjust Phase and Clock in the SCREEN menu. Ensure computer resolution is ≤ 1600x1200. For notebooks, toggle display output (e.g., Fn+F7 or similar).
How do I set the projector to turn off automatically?
Go to SETTING > Auto Power Off (Min). Set a time from 0 to 99 minutes. When no signal is detected, the projector will power off after the set time. Set to 0 to disable.
