Frequently Asked Questions - 2401245 Kooper

Can I wash the electric blanket?
Yes, you can wash the blanket without the control unit. Remove the plug and let it cool down, disconnect the remote control, then machine wash at 30°C on delicate cycle. Do not use spin cycle. Hang to dry in a clean, dry place.
What does the indicator light mean?
The luminous indicator shows that the blanket is powered on. When the indicator is off, the blanket is not heating. If the indicator fails, the blanket may still heat but check manually to avoid overheating.
How long does it take to preheat the blanket?
Preheat the blanket for 30–50 minutes on the High setting (position 2) before bedtime. Then switch to Low (position 1) for comfortable overnight use.
Can I leave the electric blanket on all night?
Yes, if you place the selector switch to the Low position (not High). The blanket is designed for safe overnight use on the Low setting.
What should I do if the blanket does not heat up?
Check that the power cord is fully unwound and plugged into a working 220V outlet. Ensure the control dial is set to High. If still not heating, the overheat protection may have activated due to folding. Unfold the blanket, turn off, wait, and try again. If problem persists, contact authorized service.
Can I use the blanket on a waterbed or adjustable bed?
Do not use on mechanically adjustable beds. If used, ensure the blanket and cable are not trapped. For waterbeds, it is not recommended unless the blanket remains flat and well stretched.
How should I store the electric blanket?
Store the blanket in a dry place. Do not fold it tightly when storing. Keep away from heavy objects. Before next use, carefully check the condition of the blanket and cable.
Is the electric blanket safe for children?
The blanket can be used by children aged 8 years and above under supervision. Children under 8 should not use it. Keep the blanket and cord out of reach of children under 8. Children should not clean or maintain it unless supervised.
What if the control switch becomes hot?
Do not place the control switch under pillows or blankets. Keep it away from heat sources. If it overheats or appears damaged, stop using and contact authorized service.
How do I reset the overheat protection?
If the overheat protection activates, unplug the blanket and allow it to cool down. Ensure the blanket is not folded or rolled, then plug it back in and set to Low. The blanket should resume normal operation.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. If the electric blanket is used incorrectly (folded, rolled, etc.) and for too long it may overheat, in this case, the protection function will activate and the blanket will not generate heat. Do not attempt to repair the blanket yourself. The electric blanket can only be repaired by authorized technicians. Avoid handling on your own the internal components of the electric blanket.
  2. When the power blanket has lower voltage, the heating capacity of the electric blanket decreases and temperature slowly increases while staying relatively low. This does not mean that the blanket is malfunctioning: users must ensure that the blanket is connected to a proper voltage socket.
  3. The luminous indicator and the circuit of the electric blanket are connected in parallel. In the event of a luminous indicator failure, there will be no impact on the operation of the electric blanket, but additional care is needed to check and understand when the blanket is on or off to prevent the internal electrical components from overheating.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

To prevent accidents, users must follow the instructions below. Otherwise the manufacturer declines all responsibility: 1. Do not fold the electric blanket when it is connected to the electricity supply and avoid folding it too tightly even when it is disconnected (Fig. 1);
2. Do not roll or cover the blanket with heavy objects during use. The bed and mattress used must ensure that the blanket remains well stretched. Avoid causing overheating of the equipment (Fig. 2);
3. Do not insert pins into the blanket or cut it. Don't slam it. Do not secure the equipment with pins or other metal objects (Fig. 3);
4. To warm up, lie down over the blanket: Do not wrap in the blanket and do not use it for other purposes (Fig. 4);

  3. Use the blanket only with the included electrical switch.

  4. Store the electric blanket in a dry place. Do not place any heavy object on the blanket other than those who have the mere cover function. Before the following use of the electric blanket, carefully check its condition. If parts are damaged, do not turn the equipment on.

  5. Avoid dismantling or attempting to repair the electric blanket yourself, and do not use it for uses other than those mentioned in this instruction manual. Otherwise, the user will assume all responsibility in case of any damage.

  6. The electrical cable of the electric blanket cannot be replaced: if it is damaged, the equipment must be completely replaced.

  7. Do not use the blanket on mechanically adjustable beds. In that case, make sure that the blanket or cable are not trapped in the structure.

  8. Children must not use the electric blanket.

  9. According to international conventions, under normal operating conditions, the electric blanket lasts for 8 years. However, for safety reasons, it is advisable to have the equipment checked after 5 years to control the electrical insulation. Products that will be approved may still be used.

  10. IF YOU WISH TO LEAVE THE BLANKET ON DURING THE NIGHT, PLACE THE SELECTOR SWITCH TO THE LOW POSITION (NOT HIGH)

HOW TO USE

Place the thermal blanket on the bed, making sure that the lower side reaches the height of the feet. Be careful not to place the blanket under the pillow. For a correct use of the electric blanket, place it between the mattress and the sheet.

  • Temperature Adjustment: Insert the plug into an AC 220v-50hz power outlet before bedtime. Initiate the electric blanket by pressing the power button at "high": a luminous indicator will begin to signal that the equipment is operating. It is advisable to preheat the blanket for 30-50 minutes; Then, depending on your needs, position the switch to "low" to maintain a correct temperature during the night or turn off the equipment ("off") if you want to stop the heat emission (in this case the luminous indicator goes off).
  • The operation control device has 3 positions (0-1-2): set the dial to 2 (maximum temperature) for about 1 hour before bedtime; then set it to 1 to prevent the temperature from becoming too high and to save energy. If you wish to leave the blanket on during the night, place the selector switch to the Low position (not High). If you want to turn it off at bedtime, place the selector on 0 and unplug it from the socket.

When the thermal blanket is working, the control switch must not be placed under the pillow or blankets or covered by other objects. Do not leave the control switch near heat sources, and check that it is not overheated or damaged.

DAILY CONTROL AND WARNINGS

To ensure that users safely use of the electric blanket and to avoid any accident, it is recommended to pay attention to the following:

  1. Check the power supply cables, plugs and cables used to connect the equipment. In case of damage, avoid using the equipment and take it to an authorised repair/maintenance centre.
  2. During use, check regularly that the electric blanket is well laid out, firmly fixed to the mattress, not folded and not rolled, to avoid malfunctioning.

Information for users about the correct disposal of the product according to

the European Directive 2012/19/EU and to the Legislative Decree N. 49/2014.

Dear Customer,

It is important to remind you that, as a good citizen, you cannot dispose of this product as municipal waste; you have to do a separate collection.

The symbol labelled on the appliance indicates that the rubbish is subject to "separate collection".

Electrical and electronic appliance cannot be considered as domestic waste. Therefore, at the end of its useful life, this product should not be disposed with municipal wastes. The user must therefore assign or (have collected) the rubbish to a treatment facility under local administration, or hand it over to the reseller in exchange for an equivalent new product.

The separate collection of the rubbish and the successive treatment, recycling and disposal operations promote production of appliances made with recycled materials and reduce negative effects on health and the environment caused by improper treatment of rubbish.

Thank you!
