Read the Operating Instructions carefully before use!
- Store the earth auger out of the reach of children.
- The tool may only be used by adults.
- Do not immerse the tool in liquid.
- The tool must not be used in areas where flammable liquids are stored or where flammable fumes/gases can occur.
- Store the tool in a dry place when not in use
- Read through the instructions carefully. Familiarise yourself with all the controls and the right way to use the tool.
- This tool is designed to drill holes in the ground. All other use is prohibited in view of the risk of personal injury.
• Never allow children or persons not familiar with these instructions to use the earth auger. - Never use the tool if there are other people or animals within 5 metres.
- Remember that the operator is responsible for accidents that happen to other people or their property.
- Never use the tool if you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Nor when you are tired or ill.
- Do not wear loose-fitting or loose-hanging clothes when using the tool. They can get caught in moving parts.
• Wear protective shoes and protective clothing when using the tool.
• Always wear ear and eye protection. - Replace worn or damaged parts before use.
WARNING - Petrol is highly flammable:
- Store the fuel in special containers intended for this purpose.
- Only refill with petrol outdoors. Do not smoke while filling.
- Fill up with fuel before starting the engine. Never remove the filler cap or fill up with petrol while the engine is running or hot.
- If you spill any petrol, do not start the engine before moving the tool away from the petrol fumes.
- Remember to screw on the cap for the petrol tank and the storage container after refilling.
• Do not run the engine in confined spaces where harmful carbon dioxide gas can accumulate.
- Never use if guards are defective or if safety devices are not in place.
• Always be very careful when using the tool on slopes. - Do not use the tool if the ground is wet – risk of slipping.
- Keep your hands and feet away from rotating parts.
- Reduce the throttle before stopping the engine. If the engine is equipped with a fuel cock, turn it off when the tool is no longer being used.
-
Stop the engine and release the spark plug lead:
-
When leaving the tool.
- When checking, cleaning or servicing the tool.
- When checking the tool after it has started to vibrate abnormally. (Check immediately).
-
Before filling up with more petrol.
-
Check that all nuts and screws are tight so that the tool is in safe working condition.
- Never store the tool with petrol in the tank in a building where the fumes can come into contact with naked flames or sparks.
- Allow the engine to cool before putting the tool in a storeroom.
• To reduce the risk of fire: clean dirt and excess oil off the engine, muffler and petrol tank.
• If the petrol tank needs emptying, this must be done outdoors.
• Always have the carburettor adjusted by a skilled technician when necessary. - Clean the air filter according to the instructions.
• The tool should be taken to a recycling facility at the end of its useful life. - The drill can continue to rotate for a while after the tool has been stopped. Warning: Risk of personal injury. Keep all parts of the body away from the rotating blade.
- Repair work must only be performed by an authorised service centre.

Wear hearing protection!
The declared vibration value, which has been measured by a standardised test method, can be used to compare different tools with each other and for a preliminary assessment of exposure.
WARNING!
The actual vibration level when using power tools may differ from the specified maximum value, depending on how the tool is used. It is therefore necessary to determine which safety precautions are required to protect the user, based on an estimate of exposure in actual operating conditions (taking into account all stages of the work cycle, e.g. the time when the tool is switched off and when it is idling, in addition to the start-up time).
OPERATION
Drilling
- Hold the earth auger upright with one hand on the frame. Pull the starter cord to start the earth auger. Place both hands on the frame, increase the throttle and press the earth auger against the ground.
- When you have drilled 10 cm you can press the auger hard against the ground.
- Deep holes should be drilled in stages. Pull up the earth auger so the soil is moved out of the hole more easily. Insert the earth auger in the hole again.
- When the hole is deep enough, release the throttle and pull up the earth auger from the ground.

- Allow the engine to cool and remove the spark plug lead before carrying out service or maintenance.
- Drain the fuel from the tool and clean it before putting into storage. Do not store the earth auger near naked flames or flammable substances.
- The transmission oil must be changed after 50 working hours. It must then be changed every 100 working hours. Use SAE 80-90 type transmission oil.
- When filling the earth auger with petrol, the fuel level must not go over the height of the exhaust outlet.
