Frequently Asked Questions - Ventus THERMALTAKE

How do I change the DPI settings on the Ventus mouse?
Open the VENTUS GUI software. Go to the Performance tab. Under DPI, you can adjust up to 4 levels by dragging the red dot on the slider. You can also enable X-Y Axis to set different horizontal and vertical DPI values.
Can I assign macros to the buttons?
Yes. In the Key Assignment section of the GUI, select a button and choose Macro(T Key). Then assign a macro recorded in the Macro Manager. You can set the repeat mode (once, multiple, press & hold, or toggle).
How do I record a macro?
Go to Macro Setting in the GUI. Click RECORD, perform the key presses on your keyboard or mouse, then click STOP. You can insert delays or edit the timeline. Save the macro with a name.
What is Battle Mode and how does it affect the lighting?
Battle Mode makes the lighting react to your Actions Per Minute (APM). When APM is high, the lights flash faster. You can switch between Normal Mode (static pulse) and Battle Mode via the GUI or a dedicated button.
How do I update the firmware?
The VENTUS GUI automatically checks for firmware updates when the mouse is connected. If an update is available, a notification will appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to install it. Alternatively, re-plug the mouse to trigger the check.
Can I set different profiles for different games?
Yes. You can create up to 5 profiles in the GUI. Use the Link to Program feature to automatically activate a profile when a specific game or program is launched.
How do I adjust the polling rate?
In the Performance tab, find Polling Rate. Choose from 125, 250, 500, or 1000 Hz. A higher rate reduces input lag but uses more CPU resources.
What does the Lift-off Control setting do?
Lift-off Control adjusts the distance you need to lift the mouse before the sensor stops tracking. You can fine-tune it in the Performance tab if you experience cursor movement when lifting the mouse.
How do I customize the lighting?
Go to the Light Option tab in the GUI. You can independently turn on/off the scroll wheel light, the Tt Dragon logo light, and the HEX light (left button). Note that the HEX light always flashes to indicate DPI level.
Is the mouse compatible with macOS?
The VENTUS GUI software is designed for Windows only. Basic functionality (movement, clicks, scroll) will work on macOS via USB, but advanced features like macros and lighting require the software on Windows.

Dot Per Inch – The Mouse DPI

Do you know what is DPI meaning?

DPI stands for Dot Per Inch, is a measurement of how sensitive a mouse is. The higher a mouse's DPI, the farther the cursor on your screen will move when you move the mouse. A mouse with a higher DPI setting detects and reacts to smaller movements.
