Frequently Asked Questions - CV630-ND3W Marshall Electronics

How do I connect the CV630-ND3W camera to my network?
Connect the camera to a switch or router using an Ethernet cable supporting PoE+. The default IP address is 192.168.100.100. Ensure your computer is on the same subnet (e.g., 192.168.100.xxx) and access the web interface via a browser. For NDI|HX mode, refer to the manual for settings.
Can I use the camera with NDI? How do I enable NDI|HX?
Yes, the CV630-ND3W supports NDI|HX2 and HX3. To enable, log into the web interface, go to Stream > NDI, set NDI|HX to HX2 or HX3, and apply. Note that RTSP/RTMP streams are disabled when NDI|HX is on. Use NDI Studio Monitor to view the camera.
How do I mount the camera on the ceiling?
Use a UL-approved ceiling hanger. Attach metal plate B to the hanger with provided screws, then attach metal plate A to the camera base with 4 M3 silver screws. Lift the camera, push plate A into plate B to latch, and secure with 2 silver and 1 black M3 screw. Ensure the camera is oriented correctly before finalizing.
Why is there no image output from the camera?
Check power supply (DC 12V or PoE+). Verify the output source (HDMI, SDI, USB) matches your monitor. Ensure the resolution is compatible (e.g., 4K requires 4K monitor). Replace cables if faulty. Confirm the camera is powered on (green LED).
How do I control the camera via RS-232?
Connect the controller to the RS-232 IN port of the camera. Set the baud rate (default 9600 or 38400) and protocol (VISCA or Pelco-D) in the web interface under System > Control. Ensure the VISCA address matches the camera ID. Up to 7 cameras can be daisy-chained.
What is the default IP address and how do I change it?
The default IP is 192.168.100.100. To change it, access the web interface, go to System > Network, disable DHCP, and enter a new IP, subnet mask, and gateway. Click Apply and reboot the camera.
How do I reset the camera to factory settings?
There are two methods: 1) Via the web interface, go to Maintenance and click Factory Reset. 2) Via the OSD menu (remote control), navigate to System and select Factory Reset. Note: This erases all user settings including account information.
The tally light does not work. How do I enable it?
Ensure the tally lamp function is enabled either via the OSD menu (System > Tally Lamp) or web interface (Setting > Camera > Tally Lamp). Also check that RS-232 commands are configured correctly. If using CMMD mode, set to Link or General as needed.
Can I stream video to YouTube or social media?
Yes, the camera supports RTMP/RTMPS streaming. In the web interface, go to Stream > Stream, choose RTMP/RTMPS, and paste the RTMP URL provided by YouTube or your streaming platform. Enable audio in the Audio settings. Stream 2 is typically used for RTMP.
How do I update the camera firmware?
Download the latest firmware from Marshall Electronics website. In the web interface, go to Maintenance, click the [...] button to select the firmware file, then click Upgrade. Do not power off the camera during the update (takes 2-3 minutes). The camera will reboot automatically.

  1. To connect directly through network cable, the IP address of the computer should be changed so that it is on the same network segment as the camera

E.g.: The factory-preset default IP address of the camera is 192.168.100.100. The computer IP address must be set with the same network segment, such as 192.168.100.101, so that the computer can be connected correctly with the camera
