What types of discs can the Luxman D-08 play?

The D-08 plays Super Audio CD (single-layer, dual-layer, hybrid), CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and 8cm CDs. It does not accept discs with special shapes (heart-shaped, hexagonal, etc.).

How do I switch between the CD and SACD layers on a hybrid disc?

Press the SACD/CD switch on the remote or front panel during stop. The display shows 'SACD' for the HD layer or 'CD' for the CD layer.

Can I use the D-08 as a standalone D/A converter?

Yes. Press the DIGITAL IN switch to select coaxial or optical input. The unit supports PCM signals from 32kHz to 96kHz (16-24 bit).

How do I repeat a single track or the entire disc?

During playback, press the REPEAT button on the remote once for track repeat (T-REP), twice for all repeat (A-REP). Press again to cancel.

What should I do if the disc tray does not close properly?

Ensure the disc is correctly placed on the tray with the label side up. If the tray still does not close, try cleaning the disc and checking for obstructions.

How do I clean the Luxman D-08?

Use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, dampen a cloth with a mild detergent solution (5-6 parts water) and wring well. Never use alcohol, benzine, or thinner. Always unplug the power cord before cleaning.

The remote control does not work. What can I check?

First, ensure batteries are inserted correctly and are fresh. Point the remote within 5 meters of the front IR receiver, within 30 degrees. Avoid direct sunlight or strong light on the receiver.

Can I play SACD discs with multi-channel content?

No, the D-08 is a 2-channel player. It only supports the 2-channel stereo area of Super Audio CDs. Multi-channel areas are not playable.

How do I reset all settings to factory defaults?

Turn the unit to standby. Then, while pressing and holding the Stop (■) button on the front panel, press the OPERATION switch. All settings will be restored.

What does the DSD/PCM switch do?

When playing an SACD's HD layer, the DSD/PCM switch selects whether the DSD signal goes directly to the D/A converter (DSD mode) or is converted to PCM first (PCM mode). PCM mode can offer lower distortion in some configurations.

Dewcondensation

Inwinter, be careful when carrying this unit from acold placeto awarmplace or if the room temperature is suddenly raised by a heater or the likewise this unit is installed. The unit interior (operating blocks and lens) will have dew condensation on it. Insucha condition, this unit cannot work normally and playback is impossible. This depends on the state of dew condensation, but you will be able to enjoy them music if the unit is left untouched for one to two hours after it has been turned on and the temperature of this unit is maintained at room temperature until the condensation dries.
