Frequently Asked Questions - CP100 Bluesound

How do I power the CP100?
The CP100 is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) using an IEEE 802.3af compliant Ethernet switch or injector. Connect an Ethernet cable from the PoE source to the LAN port on the CP100.
How do I set up the CP100 for the first time?
Install the bracket in an in-wall low voltage box, attach the CP100, and connect Ethernet with PoE. Download the BluOS Integration Utility App from bluesoundprofessional.com, launch it, and assign BluOS players to the CP100 via the app.
How many presets does the CP100 have and how do I use them?
The CP100 has 5 preset buttons (1-5). You can assign favorite radio stations, playlists, or music streams to each preset through the BluOS app. Pressing a preset triggers playback on all grouped BluOS players.
How do I factory reset the CP100?
Disconnect the Ethernet cable, then reconnect it. When the LED turns red, press and hold the Play/Pause (▶II) button. The LED will turn green, then red again. Hold until the LED blinks red (about 30 seconds), then release. The unit resets when the LED turns solid blue.
Can I lock the keypad to prevent accidental presses?
Yes, enable Keypad Lock in the BluOS Integration Utility App by checking the box and uploading. When locked, pressing any button causes the keypads to blink three times. To temporarily unlock, hold Play/Pause until all preset buttons flash once; keypads relock after 30 seconds of inactivity.
How do I control volume for multiple zones with the CP100?
You can set up Primary/Secondary Volume Control if you have more than one CP100. In the BluOS Integration Utility, assign the same group of players to both CP100s, then set one CP100 to control 'All' players (primary) and the other to control a specific secondary player.
What does the LED indicator mean?
The LED shows red when the CP100 is booting up or has no network connection, and blue when it is powered and connected to the network.
Can I use the CP100 with any BluOS player?
Yes, the CP100 works with any BluOS-enabled player on the same network. You assign which player(s) each CP100 controls via the BluOS Integration Utility App.
How do I update the firmware on the CP100?
In the BluOS Integration Utility App, select the CP100 and click Check for Upgrade. If a new firmware is available, follow the prompts to install it. Ensure the unit remains powered and connected during the upgrade.
What is the recommended placement and ventilation for the CP100?
Mount the CP100 in a standard in-wall electrical box. Ensure at least 10 cm (4 in) clearance around the unit for ventilation. Do not install near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
