Frequently Asked Questions - BVP MAX DAB

Can the DAB BVP MAX pump be used with seawater?
No, the pump must not be used for salt water, sewage, flammable, corrosive, or explosive liquids. It is designed for dirty water with particles up to 2".
What is the maximum operating temperature of the fluid?
The fluid temperature must never exceed 95°F (35°C).
How does the automatic float switch work?
The float switch automatically starts and stops the pump based on water level. You can adjust the start/stop levels by changing the length of cable between the holder and the float. The minimum cable length is 12".
What should I do if the pump does not start?
First, ensure the pump is powered and the plug is properly inserted. Then check if the float switch can move freely; if not, increase the depth of the trap or adjust the float cable length.
Can the pump run dry?
No, the pump must never be allowed to run dry. If water runs out, stop the pump immediately by unplugging it. Running dry can cause damage.
What is the thermal overload protection?
The pump has a built-in thermal overload switch that automatically turns off the motor if it overheats. After cooling for 15-20 minutes, the pump will restart automatically. Always identify and fix the cause of overheating (e.g., clogged intake, high fluid temperature).
How do I clean or unclog the pump?
Always disconnect the pump from power before any maintenance. Remove obstructions from the suction grid, impeller, or delivery pipe. If the impeller is worn or stuck, replace or free it.
What is the maximum head of the BVP MAX pump?
The maximum head is 39 ft (11.9 m). The pump's flow rate decreases as head increases.
Can the pump be used with an extension cord?
Yes, but extension cords must comply with DIN VDE Standard 0620 requirements and be appropriately rated for the pump's power consumption. Ensure connections are dry and protected from flooding.
What does the warranty cover?
The warranty covers material or manufacturing defects according to local law. It does not cover parts liable to rapid wear, nor damage from unauthorized repairs, modifications, or misuse. Keep your purchase receipt.
