Frequently Asked Questions - ELPMB78 EPSON

How do I connect my laptop to the ELPMB78 projector?
Use an HDMI cable from your laptop to the HDMI input on the projector. If your laptop only has VGA, use a VGA cable and connect the audio separately via a 3.5mm cable.
What is the recommended projection distance for a 100-inch screen?
For a 100-inch diagonal screen, the projector should be placed approximately 9.5 to 14 feet away, depending on the zoom setting.
How do I clean the air filter?
Turn off the projector and unplug it. Remove the filter cover, take out the filter, and gently vacuum or wash it with mild soap. Let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Why is the projector not turning on?
Check that the power cable is securely connected and the power outlet is working. Ensure the lamp cover is properly closed. If the status light flashes, refer to the manual for specific error codes.
Can I mount this projector on the ceiling?
Yes, the projector is compatible with ceiling mounts. Use a standard projector mount with VESA pattern 100x100mm. Ensure the ceiling can support the weight.
How do I change the projection lamp?
Turn off the projector and allow it to cool. Remove the lamp cover screw, open the cover, and gently pull out the lamp. Insert the new lamp (model ELPLP96) and secure it. Reset the lamp timer in the menu.
What is the maximum resolution supported?
The native resolution is WXGA (1280x800). It can accept signals up to 1080p via HDMI, but the image will be scaled to fit the native resolution.
How do I perform a factory reset?
Go to the menu, select 'Reset' under the 'Setup' tab, and choose 'Reset All Settings'. Confirm to restore default values.
Is the projector compatible with 3D content?
The ELPMB78 does not support 3D playback. It is a standard 2D projector.
What should I do if the projected image is fuzzy?
Adjust the focus ring on the lens. Ensure the projector is at the correct distance from the screen. Clean the lens with a soft cloth. If using keystone correction, reduce it to improve sharpness.

  • ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD! Always turn off, disconnect, and disengage all power sources to the projector before servicing;

WARNING

Failure to comply with these safety precautions may result in serious injury.

  • At least two qualified people should perform the installation procedure. Personal injury and/or property damage can result from dropping or mishandling the projector;
  • If mounting to ceiling studs, make sure that the mounting screws are anchored into the center of the ceiling studs. Use of an edge-to-edge stud finder is recommended;
  • Be aware of the mounting environment. If drilling and/or cutting into the mounting surface, always make sure that there are no electrical wires in the wall;
  • Do not install near sources of high heat. Do not install on a structure that is prone to vibration, movement or chance of impact.

Installation

It is an option that is compatible with Matrix and is used to fasten the cage to a truss by hanging it from the lateral side (compatible with Matrix Alfa and Beta).

To fasten the bar:

6.1 – place the bar so that its thread is coaxial with the lateral side eyelets, located on the ring pipe;
6.2 – Then, tighten the 4 screws and washers (included in the optional set) until the bar is safely fastened.

The Clamp can slide on each other (by loosening the 2 lateral screws on each omega plate) and can also be rotated to adapt the coupling to any situation.

In this case, the only projection mode allowed is Portrait, hanging on a traditional horizontal truss.
