Frequently Asked Questions - TMA100 DOMETIC

How do I set up the TMA100 awning?
First, clip the awning onto the roof tent's pole starting from the middle to both sides. Adjust the length of the adjustable buckles. Then clip the awning onto the front u-shaped pole and adjust buckles again. Use the provided pegs to secure the awning to the ground. For added stability, you can roll up the sides and clip them, and put the guy-line on.
How should I clean the TMA100 awning?
Use only lukewarm water and a soft brush to clean the awning. Avoid any chemicals, soaps, or detergents, especially those containing bleach, alcohol, or ammonia, as they can damage the fabric.
Can I use the awning in windy conditions?
It is not recommended to pitch the awning in very windy or stormy conditions. If you are already set up and strong winds arise, disassemble the awning to prevent damage. Always position the vehicle so the awning is on the leeward side.
How do I store the TMA100 awning?
Ensure the awning is completely dry before storing. Fold it neatly and place it in the provided carry bag. Store in a dry place. Never store the awning wet or damp, as this can cause mold and mildew.
What is included in the box with the TMA100 awning?
The box includes the awning itself, a carry bag, pegs for ground anchoring, guy ropes (guy-lines), and clips for attaching to the tent poles.
What is the warranty period for the TMA100?
The manufacturer offers a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase. For warranty claims, contact your retailer or Dometic with a copy of the receipt and a description of the fault.
Can the TMA100 awning be used with any roof tent?
The TMA100 is designed specifically for use with Dometic roof tents that have compatible poles with clips. It may not fit other brands or models without modifications. Always check compatibility before purchase.
How do I attach the awning to the roof tent?
The awning attaches using clips that snap onto the tent poles. Start from the middle and work outward, clipping onto the main pole and then the front u-shaped pole. Adjust the buckles to tension the fabric properly.
Is the TMA100 awning fully waterproof?
The fabric has a water-resistant coating (PU coating) that provides good protection against light rain. However, it is not fully waterproof under heavy downpours. For best results, ensure proper tension and use the guy-lines to allow water runoff.
How do I disassemble the TMA100 awning?
To disassemble, first remove the guy-lines and pull out the pegs. Unclip the awning from the tent poles starting from the sides inward. Fold the awning neatly and ensure all accessories (pegs, guy-lines, clips) are together. Store everything in the carry bag.

Safety

  • Before installing your roof tent check your vehicle and roof rack manufacturer's instructions to ensure sufficient load capacity including both the tent and intended occupants.
  • We recommend that you DO NOT transport your roof tent over 110 km/h and always keep to the speed limits.
  • At the beginning of each trip and at regular intervals during each trip, check that your roof tent is firmly attached by checking all bolts and that all soft belts are safely secured. Always check your roof tent is in a safe and appropriate place.
  • DO NOT use your roof tent if any part or any of its components is visibly damaged, particularly the soft straps and buckles. In such situations, please contact us for assistance.
  • Please note that unsecured loads and incorrectly mounted roof racks can be lost during the journey. This can lead to serious accidents.
  • Be sure to adjust your driving behaviour (e.g. crosswind sensitivity, cornering, and braking behaviour) to accommodate the change in vehicle height.
  • The vehicle and roof rack manuals must always be kept with you.
  • Do not use cleaning fluids containing bleach, alcohol or ammonia.
  • TRT120E power cable should not be connected to power source if your vehicle is in motion. Only operate tent setup and closure when the vehicle is parked and stationary.

Please note the following points when using your roof tent:

  • The height of your vehicle can increase by up to 90 cm (depending on your roof racks).
  • Beware of low entrances, low hanging branches, etc.
  • Wind noise may occur when driving with a roof tent.
  • When using an automatic car wash, your roof tent must be removed first.
  • In addition to these instructions for use, you should also follow the installation instructions for your roof rack and the operating instructions for your vehicle.
  • For reasons of fuel economy and the safety of other road users, your roof tent and roof rack should be removed when not in use.
  • For your safety, you should only use tested (e.g. GS-tested) roof racks that are approved for use in conjunction with your vehicle.
  • To avoid creating excessive lifting force, your roof tent should be mounted parallel to the road line and not at an angle.
  • When climbing in and out of your roof tent, always use the ladder with caution and never let children use it unsupervised. Make sure the ladder hooks are in good condition. Contact us if you need replacements.
  • Do not allow open flames in or near your roof tent.
