Frequently Asked Questions - DO5002 Cropico
How do I measure DC voltage with the Cropico DO5002?
Turn the dial to the V (DC voltage) position. Insert the black lead into the COM terminal and the red lead into the VΩ terminal. Touch the probes to the circuit test points. Read the voltage on the display.
What is the maximum current I can measure?
The DO5002 can measure up to 10 A for DC and AC current. For currents above 200 mA, use the 10A terminal; for lower currents, use the mA terminal.
How do I perform a continuity test?
Set the dial to the continuity symbol (sound waves). Connect the test leads across the circuit. If the resistance is below about 50 Ω, the meter will beep.
Why does my DO5002 show 'OL'?
OL indicates overload. The measured value exceeds the selected range. Switch to a higher range manually if auto-ranging is off, or ensure you are within the meter's limits.
What type of battery does the DO5002 use?
It uses two AA 1.5V batteries. Replace them when the battery indicator appears on the display.
How do I replace the battery?
Turn off the meter. Remove the screws on the back cover. Lift off the cover and replace the two AA batteries. Reattach the cover and tighten screws.
Can I measure AC voltage with DO5002?
Yes. Turn the dial to V~ (AC voltage). Connect the leads as for DC measurement. The display shows RMS value.
What is the safety rating of this multimeter?
The DO5002 is rated CAT II 1000V and CAT III 600V. Do not use in circuits exceeding these ratings.
How often should I calibrate the DO5002?
Calibration is recommended every 12 months to ensure accuracy. Send it to an authorized service center.
Does the DO5002 have a backlight?
Yes, press the BACKLIGHT button to turn on the backlight for reading in dark conditions. It turns off automatically after a few seconds.
