Frequently Asked Questions - WA8014-340-A Exquisit

How do I install the washing machine?
Remove transport bolts before use. Place the machine on a solid, level floor. Connect the water inlet hose to a cold water tap (3/4"). Position the drain hose at a height between 80-100 cm. Plug into a grounded outlet. Level the appliance using the adjustable feet and tighten lock nuts.
What do I do if the machine does not start?
Check if the machine is plugged in, switched on, and the door is closed. Ensure the water tap is open. Verify that the Start/Pause button is pressed. If a start delay is set, it will begin later. If still not starting, refer to error codes in the manual.
How do I clean the drum and prevent odors?
Run the Drum Cleaning programme regularly. Use a descaling agent in the main detergent compartment. Do not add extra detergent. Also wipe the door seal after each wash and leave the door ajar to dry.
Why is the door not opening after a wash?
The door lock remains active for 2-3 minutes after the programme ends. Wait for the lock indicator to go out. If it still won’t open, perform an emergency opening: unplug, drain water via pump filter, and pull the emergency release ring (C).
What do error codes E1, E2, etc. mean?
E1: Water inlet problem – check tap, filters, hose. E2: Drain issue – clean pump filter and hose. E3: Door lock fault – remove obstructions. E4: Overflow – call service. E5-E10: Electrical or motor faults – unplug and contact After Sales Service.
Can I wash delicate fabrics in this machine?
Yes, select the Delicates programme (max 40°C, gentle spin) or Wool programme (cold/30°C). Always check garment care labels and place small items in a laundry bag.
How do I use the start time delay?
Select a programme, press the Start time delay button (4), adjust from 3 to 24 hours using the same button or rotary selector (varies by model). Then press Start/Pause. The machine will finish at the set time. Note: do not use liquid detergent with delay.
What is the child lock and how to activate it?
Child lock prevents accidental changes during a cycle. Activate by pressing Temp (2) and Spin (3) simultaneously for 3 seconds while the programme is running. The indicator (e) lights up. Deactivate in the same way.
How do I clean the lint filter (drain pump filter)?
Unplug the machine. Open the flap (6) at bottom right. Pull out the drain hose and let water run into a container. Unscrew the filter anticlockwise, remove debris, rinse, and replace securely. Repeat every 10 washes.
What should I do if the machine vibrates excessively?
Ensure all transport bolts are removed. Place the machine on a firm, level floor. Adjust the feet for stability (no wobble). Check that the load is balanced (mix large and small items). If vibration persists, reduce spin speed.

12 Putting into operation

First wash

To remove the factory dirt and grease residues from the drum and to avoid soiling the textiles, start a wash cycle with a little detergent, without textiles.

Prepare textiles

  • Close zips, press studs and hooks so that they do not get caught in other textiles.
  • Remove needles, buckles and other hard objects so that they do not scratch the interior of the unit.
  • Empty your pockets. Roll down cuffs and turn synthetic fabrics inside out to avoid linting.
  • Tie down ribbons and sashes so they don't get tangled.
  • Pre-treat stains.
  • Separate heavily soiled textiles from lightly soiled ones.
  • Separate dark and light colours as well as colour-fast and non-colour-fast textiles.

Door lock

The appliance is equipped with an automatic door lock

After the programme start, the door lock is automatically active and the indicator DOOR LOCK ACTIVATED (c) lights up.

The door is locked.

Exquisit WA8014-340-A - Door lock - 1

The door is always locked during a running programme. It is not possible to open the door while the operation indicator DOOR LOCK ACTIVATED (C) is lit. Opening the door by force can seriously damage the appliance.

Emergency opening of the appliance door

In the event that the door can no longer be opened in the normal way, e.g. due to a power failure or other special circumstances, it is possible to open the door in an emergency.

  1. Never open the door in an emergency when the appliance is operating normally.
  2. To open the door in an emergency, make sure that the drum is not rotating, the water inside the drum has cooled down (< 40 °C) and the water level is below the laundry load. If the water level is above the laundry load, it is necessary to drain water; e.g. by slowly unscrewing the drain pump strainer.

  3. Open the cover (A) of the drain pump strainer (B) and pull the ring(C) for emergency opening of the door slightly downwards (see fig. below) until you hear a soft noise (= unlocking of the door).

Technical diagram of a sewing machine with labeled parts A, B, and C, showing mechanical components and a downward arrow indicating motion.

Exquisit WA8014-340-A - Emergency opening of the appliance door - 2

It is not possible to open the door while the door lock is activated. Never open the door with force. Opening the door by force can seriously damage the appliance. RISK OF DAMAGE!
Any damage to the appliance or door caused by forcible opening of the door is not covered by the guarantee or warranty!

Load washing drum

Place textiles loosely in the appliance to achieve the best possible cleaning result.

Load the appliance correctly and select the appropriate setting for the amount of laundry.

Overloading and a setting for the laundry quantity that is too low can:

  • reduce the washing result,
  • promote the formation of creases,
  • produce an excessive amount of lint.

  • Mix large and small textiles in each load. Distribute everything evenly to maintain balance in the appliance. An uneven load may cause the appliance to vibrate when spinning.

  • Shorten the washing time, use a setting for a small amount of laundry. For a load with only a few small textiles, a shorter washing time is sufficient.
  • Never put textiles in an appliance that has been splashed with petrol. Wait until the flammable solvents have evaporated, otherwise this may damage the appliance.

Detergent compartment

Use the three detergent compartments as follows:

1 Detergent for main wash cycle
2 Detergent for prewash
3 Fabric softener

It is important to use the right amount of detergent depending on

the type of laundry. The amount of detergent depends on the following factors:

Technical diagram of a mechanical assembly with numbered components

Water Hardness

What is the PH value of the water in your region (possibly ask the waterworks)?

Pollution level

For heavily soiled textiles, use more detergent.

Laundry quantity

The smaller the amount of washing, the smaller the amount of detergent should be.

Exquisit WA8014-340-A - Laundry quantity - 1

Do not use detergents that contain chlorine and sulphur.
➢ Follow the dosage recommendation on the detergent pack.
▶ Overdosage leads to extreme foaming.
▶ Underdosing can lead to grey textiles.
- Add liquid softener to the softener compartment.
Do not exceed the maximum level line. Overfilling can cause the fabric softener to be dispensed too early and stains to appear on the garments.
Do not open the detergent compartment while the water is running in.

13.2 Washing symbols

The textile care symbols commonly used in Europe today were introduced by the International Organisation for Textile Care Marks GINETEXH (Groupement International d'Etiquetage pour l'Entretien des Textiles) based in Paris in 1975. They are laid down in an ISO standard (ISO 3758) from 1991 and the Euro standard EN 23758 from 1994. This standard is binding for all European countries (EU) and also applies in Switzerland and Israel.

13.3 Saving energy and water

  • Observance of the following instructions has a positive influence on energy and water consumption and the service life of the appliance. Customer service calls can also be avoided.
  • Observe the loading instructions (see programme).
  • Remove foreign material before loading, e.g. Empty pockets, as these can make cleaning more difficult and (partially) clog filters. Foreign bodies can enter the water-bearing system, especially if filters are not inserted correctly or if the system is operated without filters. Improper use can lead to customer service work that is subject to a charge.
  • Select a suitable programme depending on the clothes and soiling. Observe information on energy and water consumption, duration and temperatures.
  • Correctly dose the detergent and check the water softener setting.
  • Follow the cleaning and care instructions. (see chapter 6 "Cleaning and maintenance")
  • The most efficient programme in terms of energy and water consumption is usually the one with a longer run time and lower temperature.

13.4 Stain treatment tips

• Stained, heavily soiled or oily textiles may need to be pre-treated or soaked.
- Soaking helps remove protein-based stains such as blood, milk or grass.
- Pre-treatment helps to loosen soiling before washing.
- Use warm water to soak or pre-treat textiles with stains. Hot water can fix stains.
- Most stains are easier to remove when they are still fresh.
- Before stain treatment, clarify what kind of stain it is, how old the stain is, what kind of fabric it is and whether this fabric is colourfast. (Check the care label)

  • Washing and drying can fix certain stains.
  • Start with cold or warm water.
  • If bleach is recommended, use an agent that does not affect the fabric.
  • Place the affected area with the stain facing downwards on a paper towel or white cloth.
  • Apply stain remover to the stain from behind. In this way, the stain is pressed out of the fabric instead of through it.
