Instruction Manual
We are very pleased that you chose this product and would like to thank you for your confidence. To make sure that you will have lots of pleasure with your new mini Kitchener, we ask you to carefully observe the following notes, to keep this instruction manual for future reference and to pass it on to any user.
Prior to usage
In order to avoid possible risks of fire, the distance between the appliance (category B) and all walls has to be at least 10 cm. Keep the space above the appliance free to ensure free air circulation. Put the appliance on a heat-resistant, even and solid base (no varnished tables, no table cloths). Do not operate the appliance in the proximity of other heat sources (stove, gas flames etc.).
Initial use
Make sure that the mains voltage is identical with the details on the rating plate. Then heat the oven for 10 minutes at maximum temperature, setting the Timer switch at "M" and the selection switch for maximum temperature of the function "upper/lower heat", Following that set the switch at function' grill" for 10 minutes as well. In this way the protective coating of the various heating elements is burned in. Please disregard the temporary formation of smoke.
For your safety
The appliance will become hot during usage. For this reason please pay attention to the possible risk of burning when touching it, especially at the heating zones and the oven door. While the mini Kitchener is operated, the power supply cord has to be completely unwinded from its storage and must not touch any hot parts of the appliance - the same goes for the power supply cords of neighbouring electrical appliances.
Children are not aware of the dangers which might occur when using electrical appliances. For this reason never leave children unattended when operating them.
Fats and oils can overheat and may catch fire. Therefore be particularly careful with them. When the appliance, the power supply cord or the seal of the cooking surface is damaged or the glass plate is broken, unplug the appliance immediately! The power supply cord can be replaced only by one of the type HO5VV-F 3x1.5 or HO5RR-F 3x1.5.
Do not use the appliance to heat up a room. Inappropriate use or disregard of the instruction manual will lead to the loss of guarantee.
Never leave the appliance unattended when operating it. The safest way to switch it off is to unplug it.
Our electrical appliances comply with the relevant safety regulations. They may only be repaired by specialists. Inappropriate repairs may result in considerable danger for the user.
Directions for using the glass ceramic cooking surface
Only use pots and pans for electrical stoves with a flawless, even bottom and an appropriate diameter (heat-proof glass, crockery or china can also be used). If the bottom of the pot is uneven or too small, energy will be wasted and the maximum heat cannot be used.
The cooking surface and the bottom of the pot must always be clean and dry. Do not use any cooking pots consisting of plastic, inferior china, enamel or aluminium foil. In case any objects made up of plastic, aluminium foil, sugar - or dishes containing sugar - inadvertently happen to melt on the hot ceramic hob, shrove them away from the hot cooking area immediately by using a cleaning scraper. For cleaning, it is imperative that no scratch-producing sponges, scouring powders or chemically aggressive cleaning agents like cleansing sprays or stain removers are used! Special glass plate
cleansing agents are available on the market. Avoid scratches on the glass plate produced by pointed or sharp objects. Protect the glass plate from breaking caused by falling objects.
The heating zones are regulated by an energy control, which enables varying the regulation infinitely from keeping warm (approx. 7 % of the power) to maximum temperature (100 % power).
Please use the following settings:
1 ... 5 to warm up and keep warm
4 ... 9 to cook, stew and steam
8 ... 12 to start cooking, bake and fry
Switch the appliance down in time, so you can save energy. Further information is given by any ordinary cookbook.
The residual heat indicators on the front part of the cooking surface point to still prevailing risks of burning but also to residual heat which can be used for keeping dishes warm.
Directions for using the oven
With the lower rotary switch you can vary the oven temperature for the function "upper and lower heat" infinitely from 50°C to 250°C or choose the functions "only lower heat (650 W)", "only upper heat (500 W)" or "grill" (1000 W), where the oven is heating with maximum power. In the upper part of the oven there are two heating elements, whereby the inner one provides for the grilling function, the outer one is working when setting the function 'upper heat' or 'upper/lower heat'.
To switch on the oven, turn the above rotary switch to the right as far as it will go and then back to the desired operation time or turn it left and choose "M" = continuous operation. The oven is in operation now, the pilot lamps are going on, the heating process is beginning.
When the lower pilot lamp goes out, the adjusted oven temperature is reached. The alternately lighting up and going out of the lamp during the operation shows the thermostatic regulation of the oven temperature.
Operating with timer, the oven switches off automatically when the set time is over, and a bell rings shortly. The operation time can always be changed by turning the switch to the right or left. Being adjusted for continuous operation "M", the appliance does not switch off automatically. For switching it off the rotary switch has to be turned back to "0".
The oven door is equipped with a seal, a certain air exchange, however, is required. As this can cause slightly diverging temperatures in the front and back part of the oven, we recommend to turn the dishes when half of the preparing time is over.
The standard equipment of the mini Kitchener includes a roasting tray and a grid. As special accessory we additionally offer a flat tray, which is appropriate for preparing cookies, pizza etc.. When required, you can get this tray from your specialist.
While the oven is operated, its interior light is shining and enables you to observe your dishes. The upper pilot lamp indicates that at least one of the functions is in operation. When you have finished cooking or baking, make sure that all switches are in "0" position and the lamps went out.
Cleaning and maintenance
Let the appliance completely cool down and unplug it. If required the glass ceramic cooking surface can be treated with special cleansers, food residues can be removed with a special glass scraper. You get both in many shops. When cleaning the oven, you can switch on its interior light by turning the above switch on "M". Clean the casing and the interior of the oven with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, afterwards drying up the oven interior. The enamel (CleanEmail) can especially simply be cleaned. Do not use any abrasive or aggressive detergents or agents. Do not immerse the appliance in water and make sure that no steam or water enters it. It must not be cleaned with a steam jet appliance.
