Frequently Asked Questions - Nescafé Dolce Gusto Genio S Touch KRUPS

How do I descale the Genio S Touch?
Use an official Dolce Gusto descaling solution. Fill the water tank with a mixture of descaling liquid and water up to the MAX level. Press and hold the descaling button for 5 seconds. The machine will run the descaling cycle. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water afterward.
Can I use other capsule brands?
The machine is designed exclusively for Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsules. Using other brands may cause poor performance or damage. Third-party compatible capsules exist but are not officially supported.
Why is my coffee not hot enough?
Ensure the machine has warmed up fully (wait for the ready light). Preheat your cup with hot water. If the issue persists, run a cleaning cycle without a capsule to clear any blockages.
How do I clean the touch screen?
Wipe the touch screen gently with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the machine. Ensure the screen is dry before next use.
What does the blinking red light mean?
A blinking red light usually indicates the machine needs descaling or there is a water shortage. Check the water tank first; if full, perform a descaling cycle.
How do I adjust the water volume for a drink?
After selecting a drink on the touch screen, use the + / - buttons to adjust the volume. The machine will remember your setting for future uses.
The capsule holder is stuck. What should I do?
Turn off and unplug the machine. Gently wiggle the lever to release it. If stuck, apply warm water around the capsule compartment to loosen any residue. Do not force it.
Can I make cold beverages with this machine?
Yes, the Genio S Touch supports cold extraction for drinks like iced coffee. Use the dedicated cold capsule and select the cold drink option on the touch screen.
Why does my machine make a loud noise?
A moderate humming is normal due to the 15 bar pump. If the noise is excessive, check that the water tank is properly seated and the drip tray is inserted correctly.
How do I factory reset the machine?
To reset, turn off the machine, then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. The lights will flash. Release the button, then turn it back on. Settings will return to default.
