Frequently Asked Questions - SKB510F1AS ZANUSSI

How do I adjust the temperature on my Zanussi SKB510F1AS refrigerator?
Use the electronic control panel on the front of the appliance. Press the Fridge or Freezer button to adjust the temperature in steps. The recommended temperature is 4°C for the fridge and -18°C for the freezer.
What should I do if the refrigerator is not cooling properly?
First, check that the appliance is plugged in and the power is on. Ensure the temperature settings are correct. Verify that the door seals are clean and intact. If the problem persists, check for blocked air vents inside the fridge. If it still fails, contact customer support.
How often should I defrost the freezer?
Your Zanussi SKB510F1AS is equipped with No Frost technology, which automatically prevents ice buildup, so manual defrosting is not required. However, if you notice excessive ice, ensure the door is closing properly and the seal is clean.
Can I reverse the door opening direction?
Yes, the door is reversible. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions. You will need to reposition the hinges and door handles. It is recommended to have two people for this task.
What is the recommended temperature for storing fruits and vegetables?
For optimal freshness, store fruits and vegetables in the crisper drawer at around 4-5°C. Keep them separate to avoid ethylene gas affecting sensitive produce.
How do I clean the interior of the refrigerator?
Unplug the appliance first. Remove all food and shelves. Clean the interior with a soft cloth and a solution of warm water and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Rinse and dry thoroughly before placing food back. Clean the door seals with a damp cloth.
Why is there water at the bottom of the fridge?
Check the defrost drain hole at the back of the fridge interior. It may be blocked. Clean it with a cotton swab or a pipe cleaner. Also ensure the water collection tray is properly positioned.
What should I do if the alarm is sounding?
The audible alarm may indicate a door left open for too long or a temperature rise. Check that both doors are closed properly. If the alarm continues, check the temperature display for error codes and consult the manual.
Is it normal for the refrigerator to make noise?
Some noises are normal: a humming from the compressor, a gurgling from refrigerant flow, and occasional clicking from the thermostat. However, loud or repetitive sounds may indicate an issue; check for loose parts or contact service.
How long will the food stay cold during a power outage?
In case of a power failure, the insulation keeps food cold for several hours. Avoid opening the doors. A fully loaded fridge can stay cold for about 4-6 hours, and a freezer for up to 24 hours if unopened.
