What can I do if the authentication window does not appear when connecting to the Web interface?

Check that your computer is configured to obtain an IP address automatically. Make sure to correctly enter http://tplinkwifi.net or http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar. Try another browser or restart the router. If the problem persists, disable and then re-enable the network card.

What should I do if I cannot access the Internet after installation?

First check that your modem works by connecting a computer directly. If it works, reconnect to the router interface and restart the quick setup. Restart the router. For cable modems, enable MAC address cloning in the administration interface.

How to reset the router to factory settings?

With the router powered on, press and hold the Reset button until the LEDs flash briefly. You can also do it from the administration interface via the restore default settings option.

I forgot the password for the Web administration interface. What to do?

Reset the router to factory settings (see previous question). Then, for the first login, use admin as username and password, or create a new password according to the instructions.

How to find the password of my Wi-Fi network if I forgot it?

If you have not changed the default password, it is printed on the label under the router. Otherwise, log in to the administration interface (http://tplinkwifi.net) and view or change the Wi-Fi password in the wireless settings.

How to configure the router in repeater mode?

Log in to the Web interface, go to Quick Setup and choose Repeater mode. Follow the instructions to select the existing Wi-Fi network and enter its password. You can also use the Tether app.

The Tether app does not find my router. What to do?

Make sure your smartphone is connected to the router's Wi-Fi network (default SSID on the label). Check that Bluetooth is disabled. Restart the app and the router. If the problem persists, reset the router.

Can I use the router with an external USB power supply?

Yes, the router can be powered via a USB 5V 1A port (e.g., on a computer or USB plug). Preferably use the supplied power adapter for stable power.

What are the LED indicators on the router and what do they mean?

The router has LEDs for Power, Internet connection (WAN), Wi-Fi (2.4G and 5G), and LAN port. A steady LED indicates an active connection, blinking indicates network activity.

Is it possible to connect a printer or hard drive via the USB port?

Yes, the USB 2.0 port allows sharing a hard drive or USB flash drive on the network. You can access files via the SMB server. For a printer, check compatibility in the administration interface.

Hardware Installation

Connect the Hardware

If your Internet connection is through an Ethernet cable from the wall instead of through a DSL/Cable/Satellite modem, connect the Ethernet cable directly to the router's Internet port, and skip Steps 2, 3, and 5 to complete the hardware connection.

1. Install the antennas. If the antennas are already fixed, move to the next step. 2. Turn off the modem, and remove the backup battery if it has one. 3. Connect the modem to the Internet (or WAN) port on your router with an Ethernet cable. 4. Turn on the router, and wait for it to start. 5. Turn on the modem.

Configure via Web Browser

1. Connect your computer to the router (Wired or Wireless).

Wired:

Turn off the Wi-Fi on your computer and connect your computer to the router's LAN (1/2/3/4) port using an Ethernet cable.

Wireless:

Connect your computer to the router wirelessly. The SSID and Wireless Password are on the router's label.

2. Enter http://tplinkwifi.net or http://192.168.0.1

in the address bar of a web browser. Create a password for future login attempts, or use admin for both username and password for some routers.

Note: If the login window does not appear, please refer to FAQ > Q1.

3 Go to Quick Setup page, and follow the step-by-step instructions to complete the initial configuration.

Q1. What can I do if the login window does not appear?

• If the computer is set to a static or fixed IP address, change the setting to obtain an IP address automatically. - Verify that http://tplinkwifi.net or http://192.168.0.1 is correctly entered in the web browser. Alternatively, enter http://192.168.1.1 in the web browser. - Use another web browser and try again. - Reboot your router and try again. - Disable and enable the the network adapter in use again.

Q2. What can I do if I cannot access the internet?

- Check if the Internet is working properly by connecting a computer directly to the modem via an Ethernet. If it is not, contact your Internet Service Provider.
