Frequently Asked Questions - P18HP ElectriQ

How do I install the exhaust hose and window kit?
Assemble the fishtail adaptor onto the hose (at least 3 full rotations), then attach the exhaust hose connector to the rear of the unit. For the window kit, partially open the window, fix the slide bar into the opening, and push the fishtail adaptor into the slot. Ensure the hose length does not exceed 150 cm and avoid bending more than 30 degrees.
How often should I clean the air filters?
Clean the washable mesh filters every 2 weeks. Remove them, wash in warm water (approx. 40°C) with neutral detergent, rinse and dry thoroughly. The optional carbon filter should be replaced every 3-6 months depending on usage.
What do error codes E0, E2, E3, E4 mean?
E0: Room temperature sensor issue – check if room temperature is within 7-35°C range; otherwise contact service. E3: Pipe temperature sensor failure – turn off unit, wait, restart; if persists, call service. E2/E4: Water tank full – drain water from the drain port at the bottom rear.
How do I drain water from the unit?
For manual drainage: when tank is full, turn off and unplug, place a tray under the water plug, unscrew the plug and remove the rubber bung, then replace after draining. For continuous drainage: remove the plug and bung, attach a water pipe to the port, and lead it to a drain or use a pump (recommended in heating/dehumidifier modes).
Can I use an extension cord with this air conditioner?
No. Never connect the unit to an electrical outlet using an extension cord. If an outlet is not available, have a qualified electrician install one. This is a safety requirement to avoid fire or electric shock.
What is the minimum room size required for safe operation?
For the P18HP model, the room must be at least 14.4 m² in area. This is to prevent stagnation of refrigerant gas leaks, which could cause fire or explosion if the refrigerant contacts ignition sources.
How do I set the timer to turn the unit on or off automatically?
With the unit off, press the TIMER button, then use UP/DOWN buttons to set the desired hours before it turns on. For off timer, press TIMER while unit is running and set hours. Only one timer can be active at a time.
Why is my air conditioner not working?
Possible reasons: no power supply, water tank full (TANK FULL indicator lit), timer active, room temperature outside 7-35°C, or overheating protection. Check these first. If compressor does not start, wait 3 minutes after turning off before restarting.
How should I store the air conditioner at the end of the season?
Drain the internal tank, run the unit on low fan mode for half a day to dry the inside, then turn off and unplug. Coil the cord, remove the exhaust hose, clean filters, cover the unit, and store upright in a dry place. Remove batteries from remote control.
What is the self-evaporative system and how does it work?
In cooling mode, the unit reuses collected moisture to cool the condenser coils, and excess water is evaporated. This reduces the need to empty the water tank. To use this feature, ensure the unit is properly vented and do not set up continuous drainage.
