How do I descale the kettle?

Although the kettle has an integral heating element to reduce scale, you can descale using a vinegar solution. Fill to MAX with vinegar solution, boil, let stand for a few hours, empty, then rinse with clean water twice. Do not use ammonia.

Why is my kettle not turning on?

Check that the plug is connected, the base is properly attached, and the kettle is filled with water. If the overheating safeguard activated (operated without water), let it cool for at least 10 minutes before use.

Can I put the kettle in the dishwasher?

No, never immerse the kettle or base in water or put them in the dishwasher. Clean only with a damp cloth.

What is the maximum water capacity?

The maximum capacity is 1.7 liters. Do not fill above the MAX mark to avoid hot water splattering.

How long does it take to boil water?

General:

1. Please read these instructions carefully and retain them for reference.
2. Use this appliance solely in accordance with these instructions.
3. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
4. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
5. Have repairs carried out solely by a qualified electrician. Never try to repair the appliance yourself.

Electricity and heat:

1. Before use please verify that the mains voltage is the same as indicated on the rating plate of the appliance.
2. Make sure that you always use an earthed wall socket to connect the appliance.
3. Always remove the plug from the mains socket before moving the appliance and when the appliance is not in use.
4. Remove the plug from the wall socket by pulling the plug, not the power cord.
5. Check the appliance's power cord regularly to make sure it is not damaged. Do not use the appliance if the power cord is damaged. Have a damaged power cord replaced by a qualified repair service.

Operation

Before use for the first time

1. Before first use, remove possible manufacturing process residues by boiling 3 full kettles of water.
2. Dispose this water.

Tip: You can also use vinegar or special descaling agents.

Use

1. Turn the jug so that the spout faces away from you.
2. Pull up the lid handle (3).
3. Fill the jug with the required quantity of water (at least 0,5 liters and a maximum of 1,7 liters). Never fill the water boiler over the "Max". Otherwise the hot water can spatter out of the base.

ATTENTION! Make sure that you do not spill any water on the base.

1. Pull up the lid handle to open the lid.
2. Place the jug on the base and insert the plug in the wall socket.
3. Push down the on/off switch. The on/off pilot light will illuminate.
4. The jug kettle is now switched on, and the water will now begin to heat. The jug kettle switches off automatically a few seconds after the water has come to the boil. The on/off pilot light will now extinguish.
5. Remove the jug from the base by the handle and pour the water out.

ATTENTION! Be careful you do not contact the hot water. It can cause serious burning wounds.

1. When you wish to heat the water without it coming to the boil you can switch off the jug kettle at any time you require.
2. Remove the plug from the wall socket when you have finished using the jug kettle.

Overheating safeguard

The jug kettle is fitted with an overheating safeguard. This will switch off the jug kettle if it is operated without (sufficient) water. Allow the jug kettle to cool down for at least 10 minutes before using it again.

Cleaning and maintenance

1. Remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool.
2. Clean the jug with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water. Never put the appliance in a dishwasher. Make sure that the electrical connections do not become damp.
3. If the interior of the jug has become severely discolored, then the best way to clean it is with a damp cloth and a little washing soda. After cleaning, rinse the jug very thoroughly.

ATTENTION!

• Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects (such as knives or hard brushes) to clean the appliance.
• Before cleaning, make sure that the appliance is not connected to the power supply and that it has cooled down.

Descaling

This appliance is equipped with an integral heating element, and consequently limescale will not be formed. Consequently, you do not need to descale the appliance. However, if you nevertheless do wish to descale the appliance:

1. Remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool.
2. The jug kettle is fitted with a descaling filter. This filter must be removed for cleaning.
3. Fill the jug with a vinegar solution to the MAX level and bring to the boil.
4. Leave the jug with the vinegar solution to stand for a couple of hours.
5. Empty the jug, fill with clean water to the MAX level, and bring to the boil. Empty the jug. Repeat this process twice.
6. Never use ammonia or other products to descale the appliance. These can be injurious to your health. Use solely a vinegar solution, or special descaling agents available from retailers.
