Frequently Asked Questions - POICE1211 Point

How often should I clean the ice maker?
It is recommended to clean the ice maker every 3-6 months or after every 50 batches of ice. Use a mixture of water and mild soap, and run a cleaning cycle. The self-cleaning function simplifies this process.
Why is the ice maker not producing ice?
Common causes include insufficient water in the tank, the water temperature being too warm (above 30°C), or the room temperature being too high. Ensure the unit is level and the condenser is dust-free. Refer to the error indicator lights on the control panel.
Can I use other liquids besides water to make ice?
No, this ice maker is designed for drinkable water only. Using juices, sodas, or other liquids can damage the unit and void the warranty.
How long does it take to make the first batch of ice?
The first batch typically takes 6-15 minutes, depending on the ambient temperature and water temperature. The first batch may be smaller as the system stabilizes.
What should I do if the ice tastes odd?
Odd taste can result from stale water or mineral buildup. Clean the machine thoroughly and replace the water with fresh, filtered water. Regular cleaning prevents mineral deposits.
Does the ice maker need to be installed by a professional?
No, it is a countertop appliance that requires no installation. Simply plug it into a standard outlet, add water, and turn it on. Ensure proper ventilation around the unit.
What is the warranty period for the Point POICE1211?
The Point POICE1211 comes with a 2-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects. Register your product online to activate the warranty.
Can I leave the ice maker on overnight?
Yes, the ice maker is designed for continuous operation. However, monitor the water level and ensure the ice bin is not overfilled. The unit will automatically stop when the bin is full.
How do I store the ice maker when not in use?
Drain all water and dry the interior thoroughly. Wipe down the exterior with a soft cloth. Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Do not expose to freezing temperatures.
What is the ideal water temperature for optimal ice production?
The optimal water temperature is between 5°C and 20°C. Warmer water will slow down ice production and may cause smaller or irregular ice cubes. Use cold water for best results.
