Frequently Asked Questions - M17JKW17E MATSUI

What is the capacity of the Matsui M17JKW17E kettle?
The kettle has a capacity of 1.7 litres (MAX mark) and a minimum fill of 0.5 litres (MIN mark).
How do I descale the kettle?
Fill the kettle with distilled water up to three-quarters of the MAX level, boil, then add a descaling solution following the manufacturer's instructions. Never chip or scrape the inside.
Can I boil other liquids besides water?
No, the kettle is designed for water only. Using other liquids may damage the appliance and void the warranty.
Why does the kettle turn off before the water boils?
This may be due to the boil-dry protection activating if there is insufficient water, or the lid not being firmly closed. Ensure the kettle has enough water and the lid is securely shut.
How do I clean the kettle?
Clean the exterior with a soft damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Clean the filter regularly. Never immerse the kettle or stand in water.
Is the kettle cordless?
Yes, the kettle sits on a cordless base with a 360° swivel connection, making it easy to lift and pour.
What does the auto shut-off feature do?
The kettle automatically switches off when the water reaches boiling point or when the boil-dry protection is triggered (if the kettle is empty).
Can I open the lid while the water is boiling?
No, do not open the lid during boiling as the steam is very hot and can cause burns. Wait until the kettle has switched off.
How long does it take to boil a full kettle?
Typically it takes 3 to 5 minutes to boil a full 1.7 litre kettle, depending on the starting water temperature and voltage.
Where can I get a replacement filter or other spare parts?
