Safety

  • Never use the rice cooker if the mains lead is damaged.
  • If the mains lead is damaged a new one must be replaced only by the retailer or manufacturer.
  • Check that the power in the wall socket coincides with the power on the rice cooker's rating plate (230 V).
  • Make sure that the lead never hangs down from the table or counter top. The lead should never get in direct contact with hot surfaces e.g. a stove burner.
  • The rice cooker should only be connected to an earthed wall socket.
  • Do not turn the rice cooker on before having put in the inner bowl.
  • Place the rice cooker on an even and stable surface while using.
  • Place the rice cooker out off reach for children.
  • Bear in mind that the rice cooker's casing may get hot during use.
  • Never immerse the rice cooker into water and never rinse it under running water.
  • Do not use the rice cooker for frozen foods.
  • The inner bowl may only be used for cooking with the rice cooker – never place the inner bowl directly on any source of heat.
  • Never block the lid's steam opening with any object, such as a potholder etc., during use.
    • Always unplug the lead and let the rice cooker cool down before cleaning.
  • Bear in mind that the keep warm function is activated as long as the lead is connected to the wall socket.
  • The appliance is only meant for household purposes.
  • If the switch is hard to push down while in cooking position (COOK), do not force it. This may occur if the inner bowl is not in it's correct position or when the cooking is just finished.
  • Never leave the rice ladle or other kitchen tool in the rice cooker when it is in keep warm position.
  • Do not use the keep warm function to reheat already cooked rice.

Use

  1. Measure up rice according to the instructions on the rice packaging. Rinse the rice in a separate bowl until the water is clear.
  2. When the rice is rinsed, pour it into the rice cooker's inner bowl.
  3. Measure up water according to the instructions on the rice packaging and pour into the inner bowl.
  4. Make sure the rice cooker's heat plate is completely clean.
  5. Place the inner bowl inside the rice cooker and put the lid on.
  6. Connect the lead first to the rice cooker and then to the wall socket. The yellow indicator light will light up and indicate that the keep warm function (WARM) is activated.
  7. Push the switch down to start the cooking. The red indicator light (COOK) lights up. Note! The switch does not stay pushed down if the inner bowl is incorrectly placed in the rice cooker.
  8. Cooking will stop automatically when the rice is ready. The switch goes back to original position and the red indicator light switches off.
  9. Let the rice sit with the lid on 6-8 minutes.
  10. Disconnect the lead from the wall socket after use.

Cleaning

  1. Unplug the lead from wall socket and let the rice cooker cool down properly before cleaning.
  2. Remove the inner bowl and wash by hand in warm water with detergent. Wash the lid the same way.
  3. Wipe the rice cookers outside with a damp cloth. Never put the rice cooker into water.
  4. Never use solvents or abrasive cleaning solutions to clean the rice cooker or any of its accessories.
  5. Clean the heat plate when needed with e.g. steel wool to secure good contact between the heat plate and the bottom of the inner bowl.
